The king of Zandalar, Rastakhan is the lord of all trollkind and has been for a hundred years. Once a generation, he gathers the tribes to compete in a glorious brawl in Stranglethorn Vale. King Rastakhan was given to players who pre-ordered Rastakhan's Rumble.

The handmaiden of Queen Azshara and lieutenant of Illidan Stormrage, Vashj is possibly the most infamous naga to have ever lived. She was given to all players who pre-ordered Ashes of Outland.\\

Lady Vashj is also a collectible Shaman Legendary in Ashes of Outland. Her initial form is a 4/3 with Spell Damage +1. However, when she dies she shuffles her Prime version into the deck. Vashj Prime is a 7 mana 5/6 with Spell Damage +1 who draws 3 spells from your deck and reduces their cost by 3.

The infamous EREDAR LORD OF THE BURNING LEGION is back, now upgraded with Fel Reaver parts. It's as ridiculous as it sounds. Mecha Jaraxxus was given to players who pre-ordered The Boomsday Project.\\

He returned as the antagonist of Ashes of Outlands, now as the leader of the Rusted Legion as he's set to conquer Outland for himself.

Archmage Khadgar was the young apprentice of Medivh, who learned of his master's corruption and helped defeat him. He then journeyed through the Dark Portal during the Second War to close it once and for all. He was found alive in Outland years later and has gone on to become one of the most powerful mages alive. He was the second purchasable hero for the mage class. He was only available for 10 days in April, 2016 and only purchasable on iOS devices. He reappeared again in 2020 to celebrate the new year, but only for 5 days.\\

Khadgar is also a Mage Legendary from ''Rise of Shadows''. He's a 2/2 for 2 that causes all of your cards that summon minions to summon twice as many.

* TheArchmage: Took the mantle from his master. He even wields Medivh's staff, Atiesh.
* ConfrontingYourImposter: When Khadgar the minion is played against Khadgar the hero, he will say in an outrage voice that he is the real Khadgar and the other one is an impostor.
* CrystalBall: The Wondrous Wisdomball, a spherical artifact containing Khadgar's knowledge. It can be collected as a very powerful treasure in the Dalaran Heist, and it's in his deck by default in ''Galakrond's Awakening''. It randomly gives "helpful advice", which can range from CaptainObvious tips to absolutely game-winning effects like summoning free minions, restocking your deck when you hit fatigue, preventing lethal damage, clearing the enemy's entire board, or other fun stuff.
* MagicStaff: The aforementioned Atiesh.
* RapidAging: During their confrontation, Medivh turned Khadgar into an old man.

* DenserAndWackier: His stint as the main bad guy of ''Curse of Naxxramas'' is ''far'' goofier than his canon counterpart. Averted for the playable Hero, as well as the two minion variants, who are all very much in-character.
* EasterEgg: Headmaster Kel'Thuzad actually has an unlisted, unique effect that is very unlikely to ever happen in serious play. In the event that you summon a "cat" like Manafeeder Panthera, Kel'Thuzad will start gushing about how cute it is. Successfully filling the board while a cat is present will cause Kel'Thuzad to give you his pet kitty, Mr. Bigglesworth - a mere 0 mana 1/1, but a ''legendary'' one.
* EvilMentor: As a human, he is the headmaster of Scholomance, which he runs under the pretense of it being a college equivalent for Mages. However, he's actually teaching necromancy in the dungeons beneath.
* EvilGloating: His opening quotes against Arthas and Sylvanas is rubbing his victory to convert them to their face.
* FauxAffablyEvil: In some moments, he comes off as having a façade of smugness - it's all very clear that it is just a facade.
* ForHalloweenIAmGoingAsMyself: A variation - the 2020 Hallow's End trailer showed his human self in his costume, which happens to be a lich.
* AnIcePerson: As a lich, he specializes in frost magic. He has voicelines for pretty much every frost spell in Mage's arsenal (at least the ones in Standard at his time of release) to emphasize this. Even his Fireblast is recoloured to look like a tiny frostbolt. Granted, there's also nothing stopping you from using [[GameplayAndStorySegregation fire and arcane spells]] in your deck.
