The Vees carry many trademark characteristics of the trope, being {{Big Bad Wannabe}}s prone to comedic squabbling and flawed schemes. However, only their first appearance plays them straight as TheChewToy, otherwise they thoroughly lack the sympathetic VillainousUnderdog attributes most examples embody, and any setbacks they suffer are buffered by them being extremely powerful and ominous figures in Hell, not to mention some of the most abusive and ruthless Overlords with a good grasp of manipulation tactics. While most of the other Overlords in Hell look down on them, it is implied to be less from their competence heirarchy and more because of the Vees bluntly callous and imperious attitudes compared to the relatively more polite and pragmatic approach of most of their peers.
