* MyGreatestFailure: After his ship is destroyed, Let 'Volir failed his main priority as a captain to keep his crew safe, and even failed to [[GoingDownwiththeShip Go Down with the Ship]]. Though a number of his crew survived.

* PunchClockVillain: Just a mercenary with no real interest in the Banished's goals.

* TokenEvilTeammate: After a lengthy plan to trick him into contaiment, he now serves the same purpose as any other Spartan's Personal AI. He routinely tries to convince the player to join the Banished to make the best use of their potential.

* TokyoRose: Half his job is to demoralize the surviving UNSC forces by boasting about the strength of the Banished and describing the gruesome demise of other survivors elsewhere on the ring. How successful he is, is… questionable.

* EqualOpportunityEvil: While the Banished's members [[TeethClenchedTeamwork tend to be competitive with each other at best]], Atriox himself generally sees all of those who join the Banished as having [[EvilIsOneBigHappyFamily equal potential for greatness like him]] regardless of species, seeking to secure a future for all their kind. They will even accept humans, on Installation 07 a human inspector commands a prison camp.

* KickTheSonOfABitch: With how far gone Cortana was [[KnightTemplar at the point]] he had defeated her and the untold death she callously inflicted across the galaxy—especially on the Brutes themselves by rendering them nearly extinct—Atriox's complete beatdown of Cortana comes off as sweet karmic punishment for her trying to play God.

* CoolCrown: Well, "cool" might be stretching it, but he wears what looks to be a looted San'Shyuum crown with a crude model of the Ark literally strapped to it.

* InformedAttribute: Their ability to destroy humanity. While individuals are rather formidable (such as Atriox and Escharum), the real reason they were so successful in ''Halo Infinite'' is that humanity was already crippled by [[spoiler:losing the majority of their artificial intelligence aid and on the run from the Created to the degree of abandoning key settlements just to survive]]. It comes across as less the Banished being badass, and more them performing the military equivalent to KickThemWhileTheyAreDown, especially when Escharum constantly gloats about how "easy" it was.

* AsskickingEqualsAuthority: Watching him take on ''Three Spartan'' '''II's''' in close-quarters combat and '''win''' will immediately tell you why the rest of the Banished believes in him so fanatically.

* NobleDemon: While he's a proud and outspoken member of the Banished, he doesn't share the anti-human sentiment they took after the destruction of Doisac, where most of its highest ranking members were born. In fact, he's outright proud of the combat prowess humans are capable of, especially Spartans, and his only major sore spots are the idea of losing, the destruction of Doisac itself, and the more typical hatred of The Covenant that the Banished were formed from.

* ColorCodedForYourConvenience: The regular troops wear black and maroon armor and wield shock rifles. Later and more elite variants wear bright pearl-white armor and wield the Commando rifle instead, with the highest-ranked Skimmers clad in red armour and wielding SPNKrs.

* GroundPound: His main attack is to soar up into the air and rocket boost into the player for a ground pound with a fairly wide radius. The Grappleshot is practically required to safely avoid it.
