* BatmanGambit: His men seize the Belltower of St. Marks to demand the release of a terrorist leader. [[spoiler:It's actually a trap for the Agency's previously invincible cyborgs. Dante has a cruise missile warhead planted in the belfry as a suicide bomb and is actually several miles away with an anti-material rifle and an armed escape helicopter.]]

The SoleSurvivor of a FamilyMassacre, Henrietta is one of the first girls to become a first-gen cyborg. Her handler is Jose, and her weapons of choice consist of a FN P90, a Walther [=WA=]2000 and a SIG-Sauer P239.

* TookALevelInBadass: Although not an Agency operative, she makes sure to learn combat skills because she knows they might be needed as the Agency increasingly takes the front line against Padania. When all hands are called out for the final battle against Dante, she takes part in the assault on the nuclear planet instead of staying in the compound, to the surprise of Giorgio.

* {{Foil}}: In Olga's introductory scene her demeanor contrasts with the perky Prisilla, who's also introduced then.

* ReassignedToAntarctica: Bored with the lack of action, the two get into a knife fight that's stopped by Angelica (to everyone's surprise, as she hasn't been used for combat yet). Jean has them sent off for a couple of months training with the SAS to cool them down.

She serves on the Italian National Security Council and is the niece of the Minister of State. Once the Social Welfare Agency has outlived their usefulness, Aragon turns up at the compound with three companies of paratroopers to shut down the Social Welfare Agency for good.

** He's hired by Padania to kill Prosecutor Giovanni Croce, which Dante does by planting a bomb under the road which blows up the prosecutor's car along with his wife, daughter, and son's fianc&eacute.

* MoralMyopia: Bruno has no problem helping terrorists get away with murder while being a loving family man. Also when he sees Pinocchio lying on top of a Mercedes with a body in the truck he's supposed to dispose of, his response is to chew Pinocchio out for not respecting a good car (which he's going to put in the crusher anyway).

A Section 2 agent who was recruited from Russia after she worked with the Russian Embassy in Rome.

* MoralMyopia: Bruno has no problem helping terrorists get away with murder while being a loving family man. Also when he sees Pinocchio lying on top of a car with a body in the truck he's supposed to dispose of, his response is to chew Pinocchio out for not respecting an Italian motor (which he's going to put in the crusher anyway).

* PunchClockVillain: Bruno thinks all this killing is a waste and people should just settle their differences, but they don't and he has a family to feed, so...

A survivor of a family massacre who was found to be badly wounded (and raped, according to the manga) by Polizia di Stato officers, she's one of the first girls who became a first-gen cyborg. She works with Jose and her weapons of choice consist of a FN P90, a Walther [=WA=]2000 and a SIG-Sauer P239.

* BackstoryHorror: Subverted in that thanks to the conditioning she doesn't remember it; at least, [[TykeBomb not consciously]] (this goes for all the cyborgs). A man brutally murdered her family and tortured her for several hours; while the manga never goes into detail, she was possibly [[RapeAsBackstory raped as well]].

** When a terrorist starts hitting Jose in the first episode, Henrietta responds by [[HandbagOfHurt hitting the man in the jaw]] with [[SenselessViolins her violin case]] then killing every terrorist in the apartment, despite direct orders from Jose not to act until they'd spotted their target.
** During the battle at Turin Nuclear Power Plant, Henrietta had memories of her own trauma triggered after facing an enemy wearing a ski mask--''after'' she's already killed the terrorist and Jose is the only one left near her.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Henrietta has a face like dip whenever her handler Jose pays attention to someone other than herself. A significant representative scene from the first series of the anime: Marco is supervising Henrietta and Angelica on the shooting range. Jose arrives - but does not immediately speak to Henrietta, instead greeting Marco and complimenting Angelica on her improving accuracy. Henrietta watches the conversation - and praise - with a silent scowl, and then starts deliberately throwing off her aim to falsely suggest that her own technique is poor. She thus gets rewarded with private tuition with Jose all afternoon!
* CulturedWarrior: The violin case she carries sometimes actually does have a violin in it, [[SenselessViolins shockingly enough]].

* DrivenToSuicide: In her backstory; after the assault on her family, she told her doctors that she wanted to kill herself, although she doesn't seem to have attempted it (that said, it doesn't look like she was physically able to with only one arm, leg, and eye, plus doctors and nurses making sure she doesn't). While reenacting the death of Elsa, she tries to shoot herself in the eye, but fortunately Elenora unloaded the gun first while Jose is able to snatch the gun off her--it's implied that the latter was what Henrietta was hoping would happen. [[spoiler:She later dies in a mutual suicide with Jose.]]
* EmotionlessGirl: Inflicted on Henrietta at a later stage when she is reconditioned after her HeroicBSOD following the battle in St. Mark's Campanile. The process 'resets her to factory settings', so to speak, wiping her memories and reducing her to a robotic personality. It also catapults her handler miles beyond the DespairEventHorizon. [[spoiler:She seems to have regained both her personality and memories minutes before her death, which is ultimately what causes it in the first place)]].
* EyeScream: [[spoiler:Jose shoots her in the eye while she simultaneously shoots him in the head.]]
* FamilyExtermination: Henrietta's backstory has her being the sole survivor of a massacre when masked men storm her apartment and kill her parents and siblings and left her nearly dead with implications that she may have been raped. The Social Welfare Agency adopts her after hearing that she wanted to commit suicide due to the trauma.
* HeroicBSOD: During the battle in St. Mark's Campanile the presence of balaclavaed GIS troopers brings back memories of her assault. It happens again during the nuclear plant attack with [[FriendOrFoe serious consequences]] for herself and Jose.
* IfICantHaveYou: Implies this as she demonstrates [[spoiler:how Elsa killed Lauro and then herself.]]
* IJustWantToBeNormal: Jose's efforts to treat her like a normal girl backfire because she knows that she's ''not'' normal, and so can't ever be what he wants.

* LaserGuidedAmnesia: cf. EmotionlessGirl above. After being reconditioned she can recognise a make of pistol, but not her sister-cyborgs. "Hello, roommate, neighbor," indeed.

* NeuralImplanting: Alongside the EmotionlessGirl above, Henrietta has new skills programmed into her.

* ReplacementGoldfish: For Jean and Jose's dead sister, Enrica. At least, until the events described above.

* SweetTooth: She likes sugar in her tea, but the amount she uses increases over time, either because she's less satisfied with the taste or her ability to taste is breaking down.

* ThroughHisStomach: Henrietta cooks for the others during the Elsa investigation, with the help of Elenora's magical notebook. Subverted when Fermi says later that like all kids [[LethalChef she can't cook worth a damn.]]

* YouAreNumberSix: After being heavily reconditioned she identifies herself as Experimental Cyborg [=XA14-03=] before giving her name.

* DrivenToSuicide: In her backstory; after the assault on her family, she told her doctors that she wanted to kill herself, although she doesn't seem to have attempted it (that said, it doesn't look like she was physically able to with only one arm, leg, and eye, plus doctors and nurses making sure she doesn't).

* EyeScream: [[spoiler: She and Jose die by shooting each other in the eye, after Henrietta accidentally shoots Jose during a rampage triggered by memories of her assault.]]

* IndyHatRoll: Done side-by-side with Rico during the Turin arc.

A cleaner recruited by Padania to take care of the scene in order to avoid unwanted attention. He's usually assisted by Vincenzo. Bruno works with Padania for the money to provide for his immediate family.

!Vicenzo

Bruno's assistant who cleans up scenes where Padania is involved to avoid unwanted attention. Like his boss, he agrees to work to earn money.

A Padania terrorist who was once an anarchist from the University of Turin, he later advocated for the use of non-lethal weapons and tactics since he felt that killing is getting too much for him. Nino works at an antique shop as part of his cover. He's known in the underground as the Tibetan Terrier.

* HospitalHottie: She's an attractive doctor.

* WeAllWentToSchoolTogether: She was friends with future Padania bombmaker Franca at university. A flashback shows Franca literally pushing her shy friend towards Marco.

* NiceJobFixingItVillain: The Croce Incident loses them widespread support, justifies a purge of their sympathizers from government positions, and leads directly to the creation of the Social Welfare Agency.

** He's hired by Padania to kill Prosecutor Croce, which he does by planting a bomb under the road which blows up his car with his wife, daughter and son's fiancé in it.

* NonActionGuy: Prior to the Turin Power Plant attack Sandro usually left all the combat to Petra. Flashbacks to when he worked for Section One have his superior note that he doesn't have the killer instinct. He's reluctant to use firearms and makes an effort to talk people into surrendering rather than kill them.

* GenerationXerox: The young Speranza has adopted Rico's haircut, Claes' glasses, Henrietta's LuminescentBlush, and Triela's dress sense (plus her tendency to hook up with older German men). She's also studying medicine as per Rachelle Belleut, the doctor Triela took as a maternal figure. Ten years later Speranza is shown to be going her own way as an actress, and she looks like a teenaged Triela would have looked like.
* GogglesDoSomethingUnusual: Like give a voice-activated StatOVision of today's schedule, or take photographs of your lunch to send to your mother.
* [[LadyNotAppearingInThisGame Girl not appearing in the Doc]]: Her first on-camera appearance is for Hugo's Kickstart-style fund-raiser for his documentary. The subject of the documentary? Giacomo Dante.
* NewChildLeftBehind: A different take on this trope. [[spoiler: Hilshire leaves Roberta Guellfi a letter explaining he had some of Triela's eggs stored. Roberta carries the eggs to term, but it's left unanswered whether Hilshire or some anonymous donor provided the sperm.]]

* BringingInTheExpert: Dante usually works overseas and is brought into the country as a specialist in terror. The Italian radicals don't like him or trust him, there is no denying that he's very good at his job, being the first opponent of the Agency to inflict a serious defeat on them.

* NoKillLikeOverkill: [[spoiler:Dante gets shot in the guts by a 20mm anti-material round, which blows him through a hole in the wall, causing him to fall to his [[NotQuiteDead Not Quite Death]].]]

* {{Foil}}: To Jose, who also cares about his cyborg but neglects her training because he doesn't want to face up to what's happening to Henrietta, and does nice things for her to assuage his own conscience. Raballo on the other hand takes training seriously after his initial indifference, makes a serious effort to bond with his cyborg, and tries to stop what's happening to the girls rather than retreat into apathy or wallow in his own guilt.

* CulturedWarrior: Sandro accurately guesses that he's received higher education in England when he recognises Sandro's citation of ''Horatius on the Bridge''.

* BringingInTheExpert: Dante usually works overseas and is brought into the country as a specialist in terror. The Italian radicals don't like him or trust him, but there is no denying that he's very good at his job, being the first opponent of the Agency to inflict a serious defeat on them.

* FameThroughInfamy: He knows no-one cares about the problems of his country, so allies himself with Dante knowing he will commit a major act of terrorism and his role in this will put his country on the map.
* FireForgedFriends: Emma, daughter of the commander of the Padania terrorists who seize the New Turin Nuclear Plant, doesn't trust him for racial reasons, but works with him in fighting the Agency when she realises he's as dedicated to his cause as she is to hers.

* EqualOpportunityEvil: When Padania can't get the cruise missile warhead he wants, he simply buys it from Middle Eastern terrorists regardless of their disapproval; Dante simply doesn't care. He has Ashiq working as his understudy, and recruits mercenaries and a cross-segment of terrorists from groups across Italy to take on the Agency.

* PetTheDog: When Petra reveals under hypnosis that she's in love with her handler, the other doctors want to recondition her, afraid of a repeat of what happened with Elsa and Lauro. Belisario insists they leave her alone. Later when Petra has her memory blocks removes, he reveals to her that he's installed a backdoor in her conditioning and can remove that as well if she wants.

** [[YouAreInCommandNow He's the highest-ranking officer still on his feet]] at the end of the Turin battle. When tanks are brought in to force the surrender of both sides, his colleagues want to fight, but Marco insists that they surrender rather than waste their lives.

* KnightInSourArmor: After Angelica dies, he decides to become the handler of another cyborg rather than go on to other duties (though it's not shown which one he chooses).

* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: When tanks are brought in to crush the SWA his men and their loyal-to-the-death cyborgs are willing to go down fighting. Lorenzo however orders them to surrender peacefully.

* HoneyTrap: Sandro's job was to seduce female radicals (or women related to radicals) which has given him a HandsomeLech reputation among his colleagues.

* LukeYouAreMyFather: His ex-lover introduces him to her daughter as the father, and both he and the little girl believe it for a few minutes, resulting in a flushed Sandro being called Papa... until said ex-lover tells him that it's a joke [[spoiler:(the little girl's real father turns out to be a man she slept with as a HoneyTrap.]]

* TeacherStudentRomance: With the mentor who recruited him into the intelligence services. [[spoiler:Ultimately, also with Petra, it also qualifies as a MayflyDecemberRomance due to the lifespans of cyborgs coupled with their age difference and the relapse of her prior illness]]. There's some subtle BelligerentSexualTension in both examples.

** He arranges for himself and Jose to go on a vacation with their respective cyborgs, claiming that he wants to see if taking a break will relieve their stress and thus make them better in the field.
