* KnightOfCerebus: Previously the Agency were fighting Padania terrorists whom they were able to handle relatively easily thanks to the cyborgs. Dante raises the stakes, deploying massive firepower and completely outsmarting the Agency at the Venice belltower siege. Unlike the Padania terrorists who are presented as [[BlackAndGrayMorality not being much different from those fighting them]], Dante is presented as a monster inflicts terror purely for its own sake.

* EqualOpportunityEqual: When Padania can't get the cruise missile warhead he wants, he simply buys it from Middle Eastern terrorists regardless of their disapproval; Dante simply doesn't care. He has Ashiq working as his understudy, and recruits mercenaries and a cross-segment of terrorists from groups across Italy to take on the Agency.

* ItsPersonal: Dante was behind the bombing which killed Jean and Jose's parents and kid sister, not to mention Jean's fiancée. Unfortunately this means the Agency is too eager to get him, with even Jean lacking his ruthless objectivity, causing them to blunder into Dante's traps.

A mercenary who has fought overseas, he gets recruited by Cristiano to provide their services to take on Italian security forces, including the SWA, after his forces raid Turin's lone nuclear power plant.

At the end of the series, Dante is arrested and locked up for terrorism charges.

* BatmanGambit: His men seize the Belltower of St. Marks to demand the release of a terrorist leader -- it turns out Dante is actually several miles away with an anti-material rifle and the detonator for a cruise missile, waiting to ambush the SWA when they attack.

* BloodKnight: This guy has way too much fun in battle. He says more than once that he lives for violence, because killing each other is apparently all humans do (see below).

* [[spoiler:KarmicDeath: Gets shot by his own 20 mm rifle (Rico using it) and falls down into the power plant's yard. Then ends up in front of the young soldier woman who was the only survivor of the initial attack. In her youth, she was Enrica's soccer friend. That said, he doesn't die, because he has to pay for what he has done in a trial and the like. In the epilogue Jean uses the fact that Giacomo is in prison to capture and eliminate radicals who try to free the guy, which is effectively this trope considering what the guy lives for.]]

* YouKnowTooMuch: Rogue government agents are sent to kill her and her child by the politician she seduced and became pregnant with.

* EnemyMine: Due to his military experience he's given command of both Section 1 and 2 when the Agency is sent into the final battle with Dante. He's listed as MIA in the battle, so his fate is unknown.

* RobbingTheMobBank: This was pulled on him. Robbing the apartment of a terrorist group's assassin is probably not the best idea if you'd rather not end up in the 'fridge.

* WeAreStrugglingTogether: Falls victim to faction fighting inside Padania, as the organisation breaks up into rival factions.

* LastRequest: When Sandro asks if she has any last requests, she trolls him by [[MustNotDieAVirgin asking her handler to sleep with her]]. Sandro pointblank refuses, saying he'll wait till she grows into a woman first. She then makes a serious request to find out who she used to be, and fortunately Sandro is able to convince Dr. Belisario to remove her memory blocks ForScience

* EnemyMine: Due to his military experience he's given command of both Section 1 and 2 when the Agency is sent into the final battle with Dante.

* LikeASonToMe: Averted; from the way he raised and treated Pinocchio everyone close to him can see that Cristiano thinks of Pinocchio with parental affections but Cristiano isn't aware of it until at least two people point it out to him (and this is when the SWA is already very close to his door). Pinocchio's death at the hand of the Agency motivates a crippled Cristiano to summon Giacomo Dante back to Italy; and having Pinocchio's memento returned to him at the end of the series finally persuades Cristiano to give the agency the name of the mastermind behind Croce bombing affair. [[spoiler:Also played straight after Pinocchio's death, both in the second time he hires Giacomo (his reason is stated to be for revenge for his son and his son's friends) and later in chapter 99, as the Agency uses this to have him cooperate with providing information about the ringleader of the Croce assassination.]]

* TheManBehindTheMan: He was the one who broke Dante out of captivity to kill the Croce family in the first place. Later, he finances Dante's operation to destroy the SWA. [[spoiler:However, he wasn't the ringleader.]]

* PutOnABus: [[spoiler: Lives out the last years of her life on a research vessel with Rico and the remaining 2nd gen Cyborgs. It isn't said how long she lives (every day is much the same to her), but she and Rico are the last survivors of the first gens.]]

* KarmaHoudini: He gets the credit for wiping out Padania and capturing Dante, while escaping justice for the Agency's illegal actions that he authorized. Though he does seem to think he might do to jail somewhere down the line.

* EvilCannotUnderstandGood: On being told that his Minister of State sent troops to shut down the Agency, his only response is to say the Minister was an idiot because he could have sent that force against the PM, never mind that that would have been TheCoup.

* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: When the Agency survives the FinalBattle and the confrontation with the army, he cuts a deal with Petris to reduce the Agency to a research and testing centre for cybernetics, while arranging for the former handlers to get jobs in a new intelligence agency, or return to the jobs they had previously been removed from under his government.

* KarmaHoudini: He gets the credit for wiping out Padania and capturing Dante, while escaping justice for the Agency's illegal actions that he authorized.

* MustNotDieAVirgin: When Sandro asks if she has any last requests, she trolls him by asking her handler to sleep with her. Sandro pointblank refuses, saying he'll wait till she grows into a woman first.

* CowboyCop: Their boss in Section One is happy with the preliminary report which shows that a cyborg failed to protect her handler. Pietro however wants to keep digging, and it's only in Sicily that he informs Elenora that he's using the [[InventedInvalid sick relative excuse]] and they're not on assignment.

* KarmaHoudini: Never held accountable for trying to let the Italian military enact a cover up by taking out the SWA when they were key in taking out most of Padania's fighting strength.

* TookALevelInBadass: Although not an Agency operative, she makes sure to learn combat skills because she knows they might be needed as the Agency increasingly takes the front line against Padania.

* YouAreNumberSix: Downplayed, during a hypnotic debriefing she identifies herself as Experimental Cyborg XB11-01, but first by her name.

* NostalgiaFilter: Whenever Jose has a flashback memory of Enrica, she's portrayed as the [[PurityPersonified personification of innocence]]. When the manga starts to cover Enrica's backstory, she's shown to be a lot more [[ClingyJealousGirl flawed and human]], and more interested in playing soccer than the harp.

* AnyoneCanDie: After Angelica's death, we were led to believe that Beatrice was becoming an AscendedExtra to replace her. Beatrice started to make several more appearances where previously she had barely featured... then an anti-material gun pits her like an olive. ...And she's vaporized by a cruise missile (in a heroic sacrifice, see below).

* CommonalityConnection: She got fired from her government job due to alleged 'right-wing sympathies' (presumably during a left-wing government). This caused her to identify with the other members of the Agency who also lost their jobs because they couldn't get along with people or play the political game.

* NotAfraidToDie: Part of her conflict with her handler -- Hilshire tries to fight against her fate; Triela fully accepts it.
