* GirlsAreReallyScaredOfHorrorMovies: {{Subverted}}. One of Vitoria's favorite genres is horror. However, she doesn't like movies that rely entirely on gory kills for scares, which she considers to be overly tasteless.

* TrueArtIsIncomprehensible: In-universe example. Not even Von Kepler completely understands what his magnum opus LeFilmArtistique is supposed to be thematically depicting. Many of his fans have deeply thought-out interpretations on the film, but Von Kepler has to admit that it has no deeper meaning.

* SweaterGirl: Her wardrobe consists plenty of sweaters, turtlenecks, and other winter apparel.

* DoesNotLikeShoes: He either wears slippers or sandals.

* KansaiRegionalDialect: In the animation adaptation. She's a Kansai native, so it's only natural that she speaks with this accent. She also mentions living for several years in Osaka, as well as being born in Wakayama.

* ContraltoOfDanger: He has a very deep voice, befitting of his status as a respectful individual.

* BareYourMidriff: She does this occasionally, but most notably during a heat wave.

* SlapstickKnowsNoGender: She is just as likely -- if not even more likely -- to suffer along with any other character.

* Protectorate: To Dolores. Not that she knows, though, since Cacao pretty much does it all inconspicuously.

* FoolForLove: Indeed quite intelligent, but isn't nearly as much whenever Moe happens to be around.

* FreudianExcuse: The things she's experienced living with a family of criminals as well as parental neglect would push any person to do some questionable actions.

* IGaveMyWord: Heavily exaggerated as a Running Gag. If she promises to do something, she will go to absurd lengths to ensure that her honor isn't in vain.

* ProperLady: A neatly-dressed and well-spoken individual. It's a miracle that she even willingly associates herself with anyone else on the show.

* ThroughHisStomach: She tries on multiple occasions to offer Moe meals since, in her mind, not pilfering someone's food is a sign of true love in her family line. If it happens to be confections, then Moe is more than happy to consent.

* AchievementsInIgnorance: Apparently the reason Warble is able to casually make astute deductions on some controversial topics is primarily because he doesn't realize that they are controversial to begin with.

** Despite being GiftedlyBad at a number of mundane tasks, it is revealed that he is quite talented at boxing, balance, gardening, and hand-eye coordination. He also seems to have some sort of interest in poetry.

* SelectiveObliviousness: Pretends not to realize the landlord's awkward attempts to intimidate him simply for the sake of his own sanity.

* FriendlyEnemy: Warble makes a living tarnishing Moe's reputation, occasionally for things that aren't even his fault, but is never malicious in his intentions and if there is a greater goal for them both he is shockingly agreeable in a truce.

* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes:
** He's afraid of moths, although this isn't elaborated upon
** He seems to be sensitive when it comes to strong stimuli, particularly sounds. Examples include a FearOfThunder and of loud toilets.

* AmateurSleuth: More of a casual past time rather than a profession.

* HumbleHero: Subverted. He tries to play off his accomplishments coolly, but secretly he takes a lot of enjoyment out of them.

** She is an endearingly goofy {{PerpetualSmiler}}.

* GuiltyPleasure: Jeri was ashamed to admit that she enjoys watching trashy movies simply out of the entertainment that could be found from making fun of them.

** While he's a bit of a hardass on his students, he is a total sweetheart around his daughter and grandson.

* WalkingTheEarth: His passion is for travel, and he does a lot of it. The means for how he funds his trips is beyond anyone else. The cities he's visited include: Sofia, Bulgaria; Lisbon, Portugal; Darjeeling, India; Budapest, Hungary; Fukui, Japan; and Denver, North America.

* AbnormalAmmo: Among his enormous quantity of projectiles, it seems quite a few bizarre things end up in his stash, yet Von Whiz uses them anyway. This includes bowling balls, yo-yos, spatulas, oranges, and pesticide.
* AmateurFilmMakingPlot: In order to enter for a local independent film festival, Udo struggles to find a staff to help out with his underfunded production. Numerous struggles get in his way, but he eventually finds a leading lady in Odenblom, a financial advisor in Mr. Pelagatti, and a cameraman in Mr. Warble.
* ChekhovsGunman: There are numerous mentions to Von Whiz all throughout the beginning of the series, but he appears for the first time in chapter 67.

* ForeignCultureFetish: For Poland. He's visited the country twice, made a documentary film there, and has a huge map of Warsaw in his backpack.

* InstantFanClub: The college has an unofficial fanclub for Von Whiz's filmography, though he is unaware of its existence for the most part.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Everyone knows him as "Von Whiz". Later on into the series though it turns out that his real name is Udo Von Kepler.
* PutOnABus: Von Whiz tends to have long hiatuses between his appearances, which is made clear in universe considering his penchant for travelling.
