Despite having a yellow ring, Nero was never a member of the Sinestro Corps (though they did manipulate him prior to the Sinestro Corps War). Following the war, Nero was executed by the Alpha Lanterns.

After his defeat, the cyborg was locked away on Oa, but was freed by Sinestro's forces, who appointed him their quartermaster and captain of the new [=WarWorld=].

All Cyborg-Superman wanted, however, was death, which Sinestro promised he would get after Earth was conquered--but this was not to be. Even though his body was almost totally destroyed in the Sinestro Corps War, the Manhunters found his corpse and rebuilt him. He has recently resurfaced and taken over the Alpha Lanterns through their Manhunter technology. While his plan with the Alphas failed, he might have gotten the death he desired.

Every time Solomon Grundy is "killed", his body rises again from Slaughter Swamp the next Monday. However, every time he is reborn, Grundy has a different facet of Cyrus Gold's personality. His intelligence ranges from stupid to genius to mindless; his personality may be gentle, reclusive, or sadistic. In any case, Grundy is always a danger to those around him.

Because of Slaughter Swamp's proximity to Gotham, Grundy has sometimes gone up against {{Batman}} as well.

Over a year later, the Sinestro Corps staged a breakout on Oa and recruited Superboy-Prime. However, Prime only did so to get close to the Anti-Monitor to avenge Earth-Prime's destruction. After a protracted battle against Sodam Yat, Prime betrayed the Sinestro Corps and killed the Anti-Monitor, hurling him into space before the panicked Guardians hurriedly banished him from this universe.

The Weaponers are a race of aliens who inhabit Qward, a planet in the Anti-Matter Universe that occupies the same space that Oa does in the positive universe. They are known for their ingenious skill at creating devastating weapons, such as the lightning-like Qwa-bolts, the Void Hound starship, the black rings of their short-lived Anti-Green Lantern Corps, and even the yellow rings of the Sinestro Corps.

The Qwardians have suffered under numerous conquerors, including the Anti-Monitor, the Crime Syndicate of Antimatter-Earth, and the Sinestro Corps. Their own leader holds the title of Highlord. The greatest Weaponers include Highlord Roval, ''the'' Weaponer (who created Sinestro's ring), and the caste of warriors called the Thunderers.

Kyle Rayner's girlfriend. Alex was killed by Major Force and stuffed into a refrigerator for Kyle to find; this was the first major tragedy he suffered as a superhero.

When Alan Scott was incapacitated by a group of thugs, a simple taxi driver called "Doiby" Dickles donned a makeshift Green Lantern costume and came to his rescue. Impressed by his spirit, Scott invited Doiby to become his sidekick and eventually revealed his identity to him.

In the waning years of the Golden Age, Doiby accompanied Scott on an adventure in space, where he fell in love with Princess Raima of the planet Myrg. Rather than return home with Scott, he married the beautiful extraterrestrial and has remained on Myrg since (briefly getting involved in a couple of adventures with YoungJustice).

!!Jack Jordan

Hal Jordan's older brother. Jack was a lawyer who was elected district attorney of Coast City; he was critical of his brother both in and out of costume. Jack blamed Hal's absence from family affairs for their mother's deteriorating health and eventual death. He ran an unsuccessful campaign for governor of Alaska.

!!Jim Jordan

Hal Jordan's younger brother, Jim works as an office drone for a Coast City insurance company. Jim is quiet and timid--a huge contrast from his daredevil brother--and is overly concerned with safety. He and his family were among the first to move back to Coast City after its reconstruction, but quickly began to consider moving away again due to the city's reputation. However, thanks to Hal's example, Jim decided to stick in there and loosen up with his family.

!!Jillian "Cowgirl" Pearlman

Jillian is a pilot in the Air Force (call sign-Cowgirl), working along side Hal Jordan. She was shot down and made a POW, but fought her captors every step of the way before being rescued by Hal as the Green Lantern. She and Hal eventually fell in love. During a date, Carol Ferris, possessed by the Star Sapphire Gem, attacked them. However, after noting that Hal had feelings for Jillian, the Gem transfered to her. Hal and Carol worked together and freed her from the Gem's hold, but the Zamarons arrived and made Hal choose a girl - "winner" became the new Star Sapphire (Hal decided to TakeAThirdOption and chose a Zamaron, forcing them to retreat to deal with it). She and Carol parted on friendly terms, but both love Hal and he is conflicted on which one he will choose in the end.

Alex Nero was an artist committed to an asylum for multiple mental disorders. He was given a yellow power ring by the Weaponers of Qward in order to eliminate Kyle Rayner, at the time the last Green Lantern.

Despite having a yellow ring, Nero was never a member of the Sinestro Corps (though they did manipulate him prior to the Sinestro Corps War). Following the war, Nero was executed by the Alpha Lanterns.

Per the Blackest Night prophecy, the emergence and conflict among the other colors led to the stirring of the Black Lanterns. Their Power Battery is made from the corpse of the Anti Monitor. Their leader is the Black Hand, a long time Green Lantern enemy and necrophile. They have their own Guardian, Scar, an Oan corrupted during the war with Sinestro. The being behind it all is Nekron, the avatar of Death, who claims that the natural state of the universe is eternal darkness and death absent of time and that the light of creation and life is but a temporary disturbance of that state; and to that end, death has stirred to restore this "peaceful" state of rest.

The Black Lanterns devour the light of all other Lanterns (whose lights are supposed to collectively represent Life.) They've been manipulating heroes and Lanterns to make them experience pure extreme emotions which they can feed upon. Their rings animate the dead, giving them whatever abilities and memories they had in life (though the souls are absent) along with flight and ridiculous levels of regeneration.

Though Nekron was defeated, the consciousness of the Black Lantern Firestorm remained in the Firestorm Matrix; soon splitting off and naming himself Deathstorm. Deathstorm then claimed the White Lantern and used it to recreate more Black Lanterns, who now serve the Anti-Monitor.

The son of a funeral parlor owner, William Hand, even at a young age, had an unhealthy obsession with death. Atrocitus predicted that he would become a threat to life itself, and tried to murder him, only for Hal Jordan and Sinestro to rescue him. In the aftermath of the battle, William stole Atrocitus' weapon (a rod that could absorb energy and channel it into energy blasts) and became a supervillain, Black Hand.

Eventually, he found his true destiny. By committing suicide, he rose from the grave as the first Black Lantern, providing Nekron with a tether to join the living universe. He led the Black Lanterns as Second-In-Command, until the power of the White Light restored him to living, breathing flesh and blood, taking away his powers and Nekron's link. He was last seen in custody of the Indigo Lanterns, being forcefully converted into one of them.

Per the Blackest Night prophecy, the emergence and conflict among the other colors led to the stirring of the Black Lanterns. Their Power Battery is made from the corpse of the Anti Monitor. Their leader is the Black Hand, a long time Green Lantern enemy and necrophile. They have their own Guardian, Scar, an Oan corrupted during the war with Sinestro. The being behind it all is Nekron, the avatar of Death, who claims that the natural state of the universe is eternal darkness and death absent of time and that the light of creation and life is but a temporary disturbance of that state; and to that end, death has stirred to restore this "peaceful" state of rest.

The Black Lanterns devour the light of all other Lanterns (whose lights are supposed to collectively represent Life.) They've been manipulating heroes and Lanterns to make them experience pure extreme emotions which they can feed upon. Their rings animate the dead, giving them whatever abilities and memories they had in life (though the souls are absent) along with flight and ridiculous levels of regeneration.

Though Nekron was defeated, the consciousness of the Black Lantern Firestorm remained in the Firestorm Matrix; soon splitting off and naming himself Deathstorm. Deathstorm then claimed the White Lantern and used it to recreate more Black Lanterns, who now serve the Anti-Monitor.

A Red Lantern's blood and circulatory system is replaced by the ring's plasma energy, which makes them immune to attempts at heart ripping (such as done by the Black Lanterns) but also leaves them dependent on their rings to live. Their powers are flight, personal forcefields, and ability to spew a corrosive plasma from their mouths that can drain the constructs of Green Lanterns. Though the ring incites the wearer into a state of constant rage, those with sufficient mastery can use the ring to create constructs (only Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner and Atrocitus have shown this much control).

Green is the manifestation of willpower and sits at the balance of the emotional spectrum. Originally ineffective against yellow, this weakness was {{retcon}}ned as being the result of Parallax being imprisoned in the Battery. Killing all the Guardians save one, Jordan/Parallax went on a rampage across the universe. Jordan's own nobility shone through, however, when Earth's Sun was being devoured by a Sun-Eater, and he gave his life to save his homeworld.

After his death, Jordan's soul was offered a chance at redemption: He was bound to the near-omnipotent Spectre, the Spirit of Vengeance. Jordan tried to change the Spectre's mission from vengeance to redemption, but to no avail: Parallax still remained bound to his soul, and the EldritchAbomination tried to steal the Spectre's power for itself. But Jordan's successor, Kyle Rayner--with the help of all his surviving friends from the Corps and the League--defeated the monstrosity and restored Jordan to life. Now Hal Jordan is a Green Lantern once more, protecting Space Sector 2814 while seeking atonement for his actions under Parallax's influence.

He learned that he had two children by his enemy Thorn: Jade, who possessed the power of his ring as an inherent ability, and Obsidian, who had the opposite power--manipulating darkness instead of light.

Alan learned that his lantern was in fact the power battery of an ancient Green Lantern that had merged with the Starheart, a sentient mass of wild magic in the form of a green flame, exiled by the Guardians of the Universe. The Starheart briefly became one with him, and he took a new name, Sentinel, but when the green flame nearly consumed him, he externalized the power again and became Green Lantern once more. Later, he harnessed the Starheart's power to create the Emerald City on the dark side of the moon, a haven for mystical creatures from many worlds.

Prior to the CrisisOnInfiniteEarths (in which he played a critical role), Alan lived in the AlternateUniverse of Earth-Two with the rest of the Justice Society. His history was "folded into" that of the unified Earth because of the Crisis.

The origins of the mystic artifact known as the Emerald Eye are shrouded in mystery. It appears to be the right eye of a CosmicEntity named Ekron, whose decapitated head eventually served a member of the Green Lantern Corps as a spacecraft. The Eye itself was removed from the Head of Ekron ages ago and kept locked up on Oa for an unknown period of time. The green energy it uses appears to be similar to that wielded by the Green Lanterns; some sources claim it is an early design of the green power rings.

The Eye has had countless wielders over the ages (and in various timelines), including Gavyn Bek of L.E.G.I.O.N., {{Lobo}}, Leland [=McCauley=], Sarya of Venegar, Cera Kesh, Ingria Olav, and Salu Digby of the {{Legion Of Super-Heroes}}; the last four each took the title of "Emerald Empress". In most cases, the Eye subverts its wielder's mind, turning her into a power-mad despot. The Eye grants almost limitless power, even more than the power rings--almost on par with the Guardians themselves.

The Starheart imbued his children with its power--Jade gained the power of the green light, while Obsidian gained the shadow power of the dark magic.

The Starheart is alive. Its sentience has at times called itself the Lord of the Green Flame and, [[BrightestDay recently]], possessed Alan Scott and his children. With the JSA and JLA's help, Scott absorbed the Starheart into himself and used its power to create the Emerald City on the dark side of Earth's moon.
