Five out of six of CJ's potential girlfriends either don't care about his appearance at all (e.g. Denise, Millie) or will actually refuse to date CJ if he is too muscular (e.g. Helena) or too skinny (e.g. Barbara, Michelle). In fact, the only girlfriend that prefers CJ to be muscular is Katie.

* FirstGirlWins: Downplayed as CJ can still date other women but it is evident that CJ is clearly much more infatuated with her than with other girlfriends since he actually responds to her comments during their dates with great interest. And Loc ''does'' ask to go visit a guy named Freddy who "stole his rhymes" while he was in prison, for payback. The thing is, when he and CJ knock on the Freddy's door, the guy's reaction is not what you'd expect from a rapist; instead of being dismissive of somebody he doesn't perceive as a threat, or realizing that his life ''is'' in danger and trying to apologize for what he did to Loc, he seems to be under the impression that Loc is there to have sex with him, going on to say (in a CampGay voice) that what they had was "just a prison thing" and that he isn't interested in Loc any more now that he's back on the outside with women. On the other hand, right before fleeing on a motorcycle he says "you dropped the soap, sugar".

* TattooedCrook: He's covered his body in tattoos, likely in an attempt to look gangster.

* ActionGirl: Among her hobbies, includes ''doing drive bys'' on enemy gangs.

* AFriendInNeed: [[spoiler: It was Cesar who made the difficult decision of telling CJ about Ryder and Smoke's betrayal. It was this action that solidified his status as a trusted friend to CJ and has stuck with him during remainder of the story, even foregoing his own gang to keep Kendl safe]].

* FaceHeelTurn: He allies himself with Big Smoke after the Grove Street Families is disbanded and CJ is kicked out of town, and is antagonistic towards CJ when he comes back to Los Santos.
