As TurnOfTheMillennium came to pass, previous continuity of ''Friday the 13th'' films were rebooted along with our masked slasher.

Jason has now returned to his roots of the first films: He is once again a territorial survivalist who lives in the abandoned Camp Crystal Lake and slays anyone who dares to disturb its peace.

* AdaptationalBadass: Jason is more agile this time around, while his other counterpart could run pretty fast when he was alive but wasn't as agile, and eventually became slower due to his resurrection.
* AdaptationalIntelligence: Jason acts like a cunning predator and is said by the filmmakers to be smarter than his victims this time (though is still fooled by Whitney's act).
* AdaptationalJerkass: Unlike classic Jason who kills his victims quickly without making them suffer as well as has more sympathetic qualities, this Jason is more malicious and violent, actually prolonging and slowly killing victims, including hanging a girl in her sleeping bag over a fire to cook her to death and throwing an axe into a victim's back to use as bait before finishing him off.
* AdaptationalWimp: Due to the reboot never getting any sequels, Jason never becomes supernatural or has superhuman strength, durability or a healing factor like his classic counterpart. Here he's just a cunning and well built but ordinary man.
* AxCrazy: He's still Jason, which means blood will be spilt. As well as being more vicious and bloodthirsty as he is more willing to ferociously murder his victims in cruel fashion rather than practically killing them quickly.

* BerserkButton: Just as in the original he really hates being insulted or bullied. As shown where he is unmasked and the sorry fool who said his face "wasn't right" had a machete cleaved into him.
** Staying true to the original as well is that he also severly dislikes people entering Camp Crystal Lake as he mainly wants to be left alone.

* CoolMask: Even he thinks that hockey masks are cool, as he outright abandons his makeshift sack-mask when he finds one in Donnie's warehouse.

He is, however, still a mentally deficient child grown up into a PsychopathicManchild.
* LeanAndMean: Not so tall as in ''Freddy vs. Jason'', but he is now thinner than in the original series.
* LightningBruiser: Jason is very strong but also incredibly fast and agile.

[[WordOfStPaul Bree's actress Julianna Guill]] did later say in an interview that Bree had a "vindictive streak".

* CallingYourOrgasms: Bree lets Trent know that she is close.

* DeadpanSnarker: As Trent keeps going on about how stupendous her tits are, she wryly replies "You certainly know how to make a girl feel special."
* DeathBySex: She has sex with Trent and dies shortly after without having done much else in the film.

** Unlike many examples its subtly implied that the party girl part is a result of the hard-drinking, as she seems more reserved and amiable earlier in the day, but is seen drinking steadily throughout it, while by the evening she is dancing provocatively and coming onto Chewie, and then Trent.
* InelegantBlubbering: When she hears [[spoiler: Lawrence]]. Being horrifically killed while they can’t help him. ironically, Jenna is the one who helps her out of it.

* {{Jerkass}}: Downplayed compared to Trent but she still sleeps with her friend's boyfriend and shows no sympathy when Jenna finds them in the act, not that Jenna is too bothered about it. [[WordOfStPaul Bree's actress Guill did say in an interview she had a vindictive streak]].

* PetTheDog: She's polite to Clay when he comes over to the house, offering him a beer, and also is clearly affected by [[spoiler: Lawrence and Chewie]]. being killed.
* RasputinianDeath: Jason strangles her a bit, hangs her bodily from a coat hook on a door, Trent then shoots the door thinking her struggling noises are Jason, the bullet hitting her, then finally Jason throws her out the window onto the hood of Trent's car.
* SexyShirtSwitch: She spends several minutes just wearing a collared shirt from Trent's bedroom, although unusually for the trope, (although not the franchise) the actual sex between the two was shown[[CoitusEnsues and in great detail.]]
* SmugSmiler: Gives Jenna a smug look after emerging from the room with Trent.
* YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe!: her reaction to Trent wanting her to drink out of the shoe after he was the one who lost the beer pong game.

* InnocentlyInsensitive: Zigzagged. She asks Lawrence if his CD is rap, and he acts offended an accuses Chelsea of stereotyping (fro which she apologizes) before admitting that his CD ''is'' rap.

* YourCheatingHeart: Despite seeming hesitant at first, Trent nevertheless is seduced by a drunken [[spoiler: Bree,]] and they end up having sex behind Jenna's back. What's worse is that Jenna arrives back at the cabin as they are in the middle of it, although she strangely doesn't seem too bothered.
** And what makes it even worse than that, although the film doesn't address it, is how Bree has probably had more than the legal limit to drink, while Trent is almost completely sober, verging their tryst into QuestionableConsent territory.

* YourCheatingHeart: Bree is one of Jenna's friends, yet she has no problem with sleeping with [[spoiler: her friend's boyfriend behind her back.]] She doesn't even get chewed out for it.

* AxCrazy: He's still Jason, which means blood will be spilt. As well as being more viscous and bloodthirsty as he is more willing to ferociously murder his victims in cruel fashion rather than practically killing them quickly.
