Hinoka loves her younger siblings a lot and that's '''not''' for discussion, but she became so focused on training and getting ready to rescue the Avatar that she ''heavily'' neglected Takumi and Sakura's emotional needs. For instance, in her supports with Takumi, she's horrified when he tells her that he thinks she and the others be better off without him, and she has to pretty much shout at him that his death would break her. Plus she had no idea about Sakura's self-esteem problems and, when Sakura explains herself, is genuinely stunned and then explains that they're NotSoDifferent.

At the end of ''Birthright'', Leo and the Avatar make up and resolve their conflict on good terms. In ''Conquest'', Takumi, blinded by his hatred and thus becoming possessed by Anankos, dies at the Avatar's hands and only in the end expresses his regret.]] Leo was used as a tool by his own birth mother and he doesn't care about her in return. * GameplayAndStoryIntegration: He's said to be skilled with a sword. If you have him gain access to the Samurai class tree by marrying or A+ supporting a character with that as their base class (Hana for the former, Ryoma or Hinata for the latter,) he'll actually be able to take better advantage of his positive luck modifier and shore up his deficiencies in resistance, in addition to having a more than 30% chance of activating Astra, thanks to his natural access to Quixotic. He even has a sword weapon named after him.

** He is naturally untrusting of others and is the first to suggest Zola will betray them in ''Birthright''. [[spoiler:In truth, ''Takumi'' is Iago's unwitting spy.]]

* UngratefulBastard: In ''Conquest'', when you save his ass from a trap in chapter 18, the first thing he does is mouth off at you, and the second thing he does is invoke the trope, stating that saving him and his siblings was the natural thing to do, even for Nohrian scum.

One can actually use the Avatar or Azura to attack her and they'll have a special conversation telling her to fight them if you do so. There's also the fact, if you're playing on Normal difficulty, she uses a bow that can't counter-attack if you attack her from an adjacent space, no matter what Corrin or Azura say.]]

** Of Minerva from ''Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light''. Both are short, red-haired elder sister flier princesses who were [[spoiler:offered the crown after their brother (plural form in Hinoka's case)'s fall, then became a ReluctantRuler]], loved their younger sibling (again, plural form in Hinoka's case) as well their subordinates.
** She can also be compared to Sully in ''Awakening''. Both are tomboyish women with short, red hair, but have difficulty doing activities deemed "feminine". They also have ties to royalty (Sully is one of Chrom's childhood friends and one of his potential wives, while Hinoka is one of the princesses of Hoshido).
** Hinoka also shares some similarities with Cynthia of ''Awakening'', as it's stated that Cynthia used to be girly and meek before [[spoiler:the death of her mother]] and after that she became obsessed with being a strong hero who saves everyone, which is remarkably similar to Hinoka's personality before and after the Avatar was kidnapped.
* FaceDeathWithDignity: When defeated in ''Conquest'', she calmly accepts death and only asks for the Avatar to spare her remaining soldiers. [[spoiler:Her surprise when the Avatar spares her indicates that she was fully willing to go through with it.]]

They're both competitive, [[NotGoodWithPeople socially inept]], distrustful archer/sniper princes with silver hair who are [[SugarAndIcePersonality kind despite their prideful personalities]], have a younger sister who they hold dear, both also have an InferioritySuperiorityComplex to the male protagonist, but are also one of the potential love suitors for the female protagonists' love interest, both are {{Tsundere}}, {{Badass Bookworm}}s that have great interest in war tactics, they both have a lance-wielding female retainer, they only act purely kind to said retainer, both have a rugged-looking close-range male vassal, both can also be paired with a cheerful troubadour princess from another country, and both are the best archers in their respective game, along with their unique weapon/personal skill.
** Takumi also shares similarities with Lyon, especially on the ''Conquest'' path. It can be said that if Garon is the Vigarde of ''Fates'', then Takumi is the Lyon. Both are LongRangeFighter young princes with insecurity and inferiority complexes, and both are deeply shaken by their parent's death, leading to [[spoiler:their demonic possession]]. They also have different characterizations depending on the paths you choose. Lyon is more remorseful and gentle in Eirika's path, but is more hostile and challenging in Ephraim's path. Takumi is the most innocent, gentle, and accepting in ''Revelation'', is at his most hostile on the ''Conquest'' path, and his ''Birthright'' characterization is a middle ground between the innocence of his ''Revelation'' self and the hostility of the ''Conquest'' path. It is also mentioned in Eirika's path that Ephraim once tried to teach Lyon swordplay, but he gave up because not only Ephraim, but even Eirika could hand him his ass in swordplay, and never bothered to try it again, like how Takumi gave up swordplay after Ryoma curbstomped him in a friendly match and both stick to the LongRangeFighter they are.
