* HateSink: Oreskis is revealed to be a huge scumbag by Bolo in "The Sixth Key" as according to him, Oreskis was already a {{Jerkass}} even before Invictus came along and poisoned his mind. Among other things, he seduced Bolo's first love and knowingly gave her an STD. He also imprisoned Bolo for ten thousand years and then slandered him by telling Sheryl Goodspeed that Bolo was evil and then tricking her into collecting dimensional keys for him.

* HateSink: Invictus is a monstrous and evil deity who seems to desire nothing but death and destruction. It is hated for many things such as manipulating the Titans into serving it, imprisoning Bolo, corrupting the Lord Commander and most of the Infinity Guard, destroying Earth, murdering Fox, [[spoiler:turning Ash against Gary]], and for causing the events of the entire series.

* YourSizeMayVary: Bolo's actual size is very inconsistent; some scenes depict him as being roughly as tall as a mountain, while in others he is larger than planets or even ''stars''. Though given the nature of the Titans and the reason why they were created, it's very possible that they can alter their size at will. This turns out to be the case; in the Season 3 episode "The Hidden Light", he makes himself large enough to hold a star in the palm of his hand and, in a later episode, he shrInks himself down to human size to interact with Gary.

* KnightOfCerebus: ''Final Space'' is filled with a colorful cast of characters- it is primarily a comedy-drama, many of the villains have a comedic edge to them, or turn out to be not so bad after all. However, there is a dead-set example in Invictus, who corrupted the Titans and ''stops'' the humor whenever they appear. Invictus' appearance in "The Closer You Get" is often regarded by viewers (and the ''creator'') as the darkest moment in the series. While Invictus isn't the first ''Final Space'' villain to be devoid of redeeming qualities, it is one of the few to have ''zero'' comedic beats. It's in effect for the rest of the series, too; as Season 3 turns out to be the [[DarkerAndEdgier darkest]] season in the series, with Invictus managing to [[spoiler:kill Fox, corrupt Ash and escape from his prison to destroy existence]].

* AnArmAndALeg: [[spoiler: Tears one of his arms off while under the effect of Invictus' corruption during ''The Chamber Of Doubt'', to the Team Squad's shock. He has three on each side though, so it's not as big a loss as one might think]]

* DeathByIrony: [[spoiler: Bolo killed Oreskis by dealing a crippling blow to his body, then having Mooncake destroy his head to finish him off. Bolo himself dies in a similar fashion, being impaled through the belly by the Lord Commander, who then finishes him off by tearing his head off.]]

[[spoiler: After he is freed in the season 2 finale, the first thing he does is yelling "I'M FREE!!!" at the top of his lungs and then proceed to spend most of his screen time from then on roaring, dropping a BadassBoast and channeling his inner Anime by throwing the ''Crimson Light'' out of the collapsing Inner Space while yelling [[CallingYourAttacks "TITAN... SPEED!!!"]].]] Also, he's... well... [[IncrediblyLamePun large]].
* MushroomSamba: Apparently went through a "cookie phase" in his younger years as a side-effect of some hallucinogenic stars provided to him by the Mindscape Guardian. In his subconscious it manifests as him having a cookie for a head and spouting nonsensical proverbs.

It's shown to keep countless corpses of Garys from alternate timelines in its dimension as trophies and part of its [[TheCorrupter coercion]] [[spoiler: of Ash involves trying to alienate her from Gary]].
* AmbiguousGender: Or possibly even [[NoBiologicalSex irrelevant]]. Referred to as "it" by WordOfGod, but speaks in a distinctly (albeit extremely gravelly) female voice while in its original form. Most of the dialogue refers to Invictus by male pronouns regardless.

** Gary meets the Lord Commander fairly early in season 1, but he doesn't meet Invictus until two thirds of the way through season 2.

* DevilInPlainSight: [[EvilSoundsRaspy Overtly evil and scary voice]]? Openly admitting that it wants to [[OmnicidalManiac wipe out all life in the universe]]? Satanic appearance? All these signs point to Invictus being [[ObviouslyEvil Obviously Evil]]. [[spoiler:Too bad [[HorribleJudgeOfCharacter Ash]] doesn't think so.]]

* HeroKiller: Invictus has killed countless Garys in many timelines, and is hell-bent on killing the primary Gary. [[spoiler: It was also responsible for the death of Fox.]]

* MindRape: Did this to all the Titans sans Bolo and later to Avocato, it also employs this as means of performing its MindControl.

* PurpleIsPowerful: Both its eye form inside its prison and moreso its [[spoiler:true form once its released and at full power once more]] produce purple light.

* SatanicArchetype: It corrupted the Titans into turning against their creators the Arachnitects and going against their original purpose of maintaining the universe, even making the Titans think their benevolent former-masters were slave-drivers and Invictus is a freedom-fighter; not unlike Satan's rebellion in Heaven. It's also a SealedEvilInACan alongside the Titans, but unlike the Titans, Invictus is specifically caged in a special part of Final Space (not unlike Satan's imprisonment in the final circle of Hell in ''Literature/DantesInferno''). Invictus literally possesses, corrupts and/or destroys everything it touches and seems to be the embodiment of evil not unlike Satan. It also has mortal servants acting as TheAntichrist to do its work and aid its eventual escape from its prison which, though it's not the Antichrist's specific role in Literature/TheBible, is very much akin to how that trope is portrayed in contemporary media. Its astral form even looks like a ram-horned devil face, while [[spoiler:its true form is a satanic-looking shadowy abomination with multiple tentacles and a dark color scheme.]]

* SlasherSmile: Besides its astral form's GlasgowGrin, this honestly seems to be Invictus' default expression, as when it doesn't need to use subtlety to deceive others, Invictus near-constantly sports this kind of smile whenever it's possessing the zombie Gary's or a living vessel directly.

* HumanoidAbomination: It is a tall, human-shaped creature in shamanic clothes with completely black skin, red glowing eyes and a pair of goat horns on its head. Also on his pocket are baby hands, so called by him as pocket observers, which help to keep in the pockets, for example, a map. Despite his extreme creepiness, he turns out to be trustworthy.

* NoNameGiven: Is only refered to as "the Gatekeeper" or "the Guardian". Given his very nature, it's entirely possible that he does not even ''have'' an actual name to begin with.

* DevilInPlainSight: [[EvilSoundsRaspy Overtly evil and scary voice]]? Check. Openly admitting that it wants to [[OmnicidalManiac wipe out all life in the universe]]? Check. Satanic appearance? Check. All these signs point to Invictus being [[ObviouslyEvil Obviously Evil]]. [[spoiler:Too bad [[HorribleJudgeOfCharacter Ash]] doesn't think so.]]

* EnfantTerrible: Whether or not he would have been possessed by Invictus like the other Titans or remained belevolent like Bolo, the fact that the Earth is his "egg" means that he's bound to destroy it from the inside out when he hatches. Of course, this is what ends up happening.

** The Lord Commander is a PsychopathicManchild, desperate to finish his plan to [[YourDaysAreNumbered save his own life]]. Invictus is patient, having nothing but time to complete its plan (but it slowly loses its cool in the latter half of Season 3 - Key word slowly).

** It poisoned the Titans and is thus responsible for their destructive nature.
** Considering Nightfall hints that the Lord Commander will be revived by Invictus, it might mean that it was the one who corrupted Jack.

* ManipulativeBastard. Invictus is somehow skilled at manipulating and corrupting people whether they be Titan or mortal. It managed to corrupt the Titans, the Lord Commander, and the Infinity Guard among others.
** In Season 3, Invictus tries to [[spoiler: manipulate Ash into betraying the Team Squad; he does so by warning her that Gary will eventually kill Fox, then proceeds to use Fox's possessed body to attack Gary and takes control of Gary's robot arm to fatally stab Fox in front of Ash. Thankfully, even though she ''does'' blame Gary for Fox's death, she at least seems aware that she was being deceived. But unfortunately, TheReveal of Avocato killing Little Cato's parents ends up allowing Invictus' words to fully get through to Ash and drive her to willingly help Invictus kill Mooncake and release it from Final Space]].

* SealedEvilInACan: Was imprisoned in Final Space alongside the Titans it had corrupted. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, it manages to escape by possessing Gary as he was contacting Quinn through a rift in space.]] [[spoiler: Subverted as its revealed in "The Ventrexian" that Invictus' main body is still trapped somewhere in Final Space, and needs Mooncake to truly break free.]]

* SlasherSmile: Its astral form seems to always be sporting one. It also sports an extremely unsettling one as Gary after possessing him as well as other victims.

* KilledOffForReal: He is [[spoiler: gutted by the Lord Commander]] before being [[spoiler: beheaded]].

* OffWithHisHead: The [[spoiler: Lord Commander]] ultimately [[spoiler: kills him]] by ripping his head off.

* SatanicArchetype: Corrupted the Titans into turning against their creators the Arachnitects; was banished into Final Space (much akin to Satan's punishment as described in the ''Literature/BookOfRevelation''); corrupted Jack and most likely promised him a chance of godhood for his service. An impossibly ancient, malevolent entity who leads the Titans and is the Lord Commander's assumed master.

** It attempts this on [[spoiler: Ash]] in Season 3 by trying to emotionally manipulate her with lies about Gary. [[spoiler: Unfortunately Invictus' manipulations work, and Ash frees it from its prison.]]

* DiabolusExNihilo: It is never actually made clear what Invictus is or where it comes from. The fact that Invictus isn't even alluded to in Season 1 speaks volumes.
* EldritchAbomination: It is not a Titan, but something far, far worse.

* FacelessEye: [[spoiler:{{Subverted}}. It at first seems that Invictus' real physical body/form, or at least the one mortals can comprehend, is apparently nothing more than a massive, unblinking eye with a pitch-black pupil attached to a tangled bramble of veins. It was not clear at first if this is the entirety of Invictus, or simply part of a monstrously massive whole. But "The Devil's Den" ultimately reveals that it is merely yet another simpler form, as the ''true'' unleashed form of Invictus is a Satan-like black and purple humanoid abomination resembling a Titan.]]

* OmnicidalManiac: The reason as to why it wants to be freed is so it could consume all life in every dimension.

** In Season 3, Invictus tries to [[spoiler: manipulate Ash into betraying the Team Squad; he does so by warning her that Gary will eventually kill Fox, then proceeds to use Fox's possessed body to attack Gary and takes control of Gary's robot arm to fatally stab Fox in front of Ash.
