* AmazonianBeauty: Sada is well-toned and sports some muscle around her arms and stomach.
* FieryRedhead: Her reddish-orange hair is matched by her hot temper and brash actions.
* FullFrontalAssault: After awaking in the Swamp of Blood completely naked, she has to avoid the demons Gozu and Mezu while finding a way to escape.
* HornedHumanoid: Sports a single horned spike on the right side of her forehead, representing an evil sin she committed at some point in her past life.
* ImprovisedClothes: She fashions herself a new outfit using a tattered kimono and bandages, even creating a {{Fundoshi}} to wear underneath.

* PerpetualFrowner: She's usually always frowning with an annoyed scowl on her face while bearing her teeth. This expression usually gets her called out by her friends.
* PluckyComicRelief: Mama's dark humor and observations to the horrific things the others encounter help keep the tone from becoming too bleak and dismal.
* TeamMom: What else could you expect from a person referred to as Mama? She loves her friends despite her outward appearance and fights to keep them safe.

* ChessWithDeath: The Rings of Rebirth serve as this, allowing Samvara to force human souls to compete in his games for the prize of resurrection.
* CreepilyLongArms: He sports ''twelve'' arms that are as long as his body, but only keeps two out at a time. He hides the remaining ten underneath his cloak.
* DarkMessiah: He likes to view himself as an example of this.
* DeadpanSnarker: Samvara isn't above dark humor towards those suffering and dying during the Rings of Rebirth.

* HumansAreBastards: Samvara personally believes that humanity at its core is evil and will do anything to buy a few more precious moments of life. This is why he orchestrates the Rings of Rebirth, primarily as a way of proving his philosophy.
* InsaneTrollLogic: All of his games and trials amount to this, as the basis revolves around "bettering oneself" by killing and tricking others.
* ItAmusedMe: One of his primary motivations for forcing human souls into his twisted games.
* KaizoTrap: He's a master of these, usually giving cryptic hints or entirely false information on how to survive a Ring of Rebirth. Even if you completed the trial, you could still be killed for missing the point of it entirely.
* KickTheDog: He enjoys seeing humans suffer and betray each other, always giving them ample opportunity to do so. This is taken UpToEleven during the Fifth Ring.
* TheKindnapper: Played-with. He cherry-picks human souls to compete in the Rings of Rebirth with the intention of reforming them for when the winner returns to Earth. In actuality, he could care less.
* NestedMouths: Samvara has five heads. Four on the outside and another that hides within the mouth of the center head.
* NightmareFace: He has ''five'' nightmarish faces in total. The center head is a horned skull with sunken, sewed-shut eyes and a permanently gaping mouth. On the end of each horn is an identical head with closed mouths. Atop the center head is a small head resembling a baby with a cracked skull. Finally, the fifth and true head lies inside the center head's mouth where it always remains cloaked in shadow.
* NonActionBigBad: Despite being the Big Bad, he simply orchestrates the Rings of Rebirth and oversees it like a referee.
* SatanicArchetype: For all intents and purposes, he acts far more like the Devil than the neutral judge of deceased souls he claims to be. This is increased by his hatred toward humanity and towards their creator.
* SkullForAHead: Well, three out of five of his heads are skulls anyway.
* SoftSpokenSadist: His voice is described as sickly, gravelly and deep; but always in a calm manner.
* TrapMaster: In essence, the Rings of Rebirth are deathtraps themed around a lesson of morality or how life works. Samvara has been doing these trials for eons, and has no intention of stopping.
