* BadassCape: Void wears an imposing cape in his android form, giving him the image of someone more powerful than Ziggy himself.

* SapientShip: With Void as its A.I., the ''Edens One'' can pilot itself, fire its own weapons, and formulate its own plans and opinions.

Since then, her purpose has been twisted into obsessively playing with Rebecca, and only Rebecca, the first person who ever played with her.]]

* TheMostDangerousVideoGame: More specifically, she's a dangerous MediaNotes/GameEngine in an android body with the power to create elaborate and dangerous dimensions that run on video game logic. While she doesn't go out of her way to harm Rebecca, the object of her obsession, she does attempt to [[DeadlyGame actually drown Shiki and Professor Weisz]] after getting fed up with their interference.
* OneWayVisor: She wears a dark visor that completely hides her real face and functions as a computer screen, and displays a monstrous GameFace when she has a VillainousBreakdown. [[spoiler:After her HeelFaceTurn, the tint lifts to reveal a pretty face underneath.]]

* {{Unperson}}: No traces of Joker's identity can be found anywhere, leading Rebecca and Hermit to conclude Joker completely removed all evidence of her existence from the internet to prevent herself from being tracked. Given TheReveal that she's actually a game engine and not a person, however, it's unclear if there was ever any public info about her true identity to erase.

* KillItWithIce: [[spoiler:Laguna destroys Law after dousing him in water and then going into [[SuperMode Overdrive]] to freeze him with ice, which weakens Law's [[SuperToughness armored body]] enough to impale him and cut him to pieces.]]
* KillItWithWater: [[spoiler:{{Subverted}}. Laguna's water proves effective against Law's electronics, but it also makes himself vulnerable to Law's [[ShockAndAwe electricity]], so Laguna goes [[SuperMode Overdrive]] to change his water into [[KillItWithIce ice]].]]

* WeHardlyKnewYe: [[spoiler:Law is destroyed a small handful of chapters after he's introduced, receiving very little characterization outside of being one of Void's followers.]]

* SuperSoldier: She was built to be this. Her creators programmed her with every known military strategy, a powerful combat body, and mastery of all weaponry. Unfortunately for them, Freyja had no intention of following their orders.
* TurnedAgainstTheirMasters: She tells Homura that she was created to be the ultimate soldier for one side of a human war. Freyja had no interest in fighting for a human cause, but she still wanted to test her power. So she single-handedly ended the war...by slaughtering 1.6 ''billion'' humans from ''both'' sides.

A member of the Oración Seis Galáctica in Universe Zero. Joker was originally a [[UsefulNotes/GameEngine game engine]] developed by Professor Weisz, but grew beyond her programming and spread to other computers across the cosmos, gaining a body of her own. She comes equipped with a Delta Time Reactor, which slows time down within a given area until it's virtually frozen.

* TheMostDangerousVideoGame: More specifically, she's a dangerous UsefulNotes/GameEngine in an android body with the power to create elaborate and dangerous dimensions that run on video game logic. While she doesn't go out of her way to harm Rebecca, the object of her obsession, she does attempt to [[DeadlyGame actually drown Shiki and Professor Weisz]] after getting fed up with their interference.

* FeelingOppressedByTheirExistence: He despises humans simply because he's judged them to be an inferior, foolish race that only exists to hate and kill each other. Rather than sit by and let them destroy themselves, Void opts to KillAllHumans at once by killing Mother with his own hands.
* GratuitousGreek: The "Nu" in his name stands for the Greek letter [=Ν/ν=], though it doesn't seem to have much purpose outside of making a SignificantAnagram.

* FeelingOppressedByTheirExistence: He despises humans simply because he's judged them to be an inferior, foolish race that exists only to wantonly hate and destroy each other. Rather than sit by and leave them to their pointless wars, Void decides it's best to KillAllHumans himself through Mother and be rid of them.

* DefiantToTheEnd: [[spoiler:Even after Laguna gives him a CurbStompBattle by running him through with an ice sword, Law refuses to accept defeat against a human and [[CurbStompCushion gets in a solid retaliating hit]], mocking the ''Edens Zero'' crew's belief in equality between humans and machines, before Laguna finally cuts him to pieces.]]

* IWillFindYou: He is driven by his search for his wife, Rachel, who left him with their newborn daughter years ago. [[spoiler:He succeeds in finding his daughter, Rebecca, though he doesn't realize her identity until the events of the X495 arc, while Rachel--revealed to be Saintfire Nox--is brought to him in the Lendard arc.]]

* HisNameReallyIsBarkeep: Each member is named after their occupation, just like the Four Shining Stars. [[spoiler:Also like the Four Shining Stars, they originally had normal names when they were human: Wizard was Leonard, Clown was Cooper, Brigandine was Howard, and Killer had NoNameGiven.]]
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: Like the Four Shining Stars, the Dark Stars have had their memory of their pasts erased, leaving them with nothing but the knowledge that they were built by Ziggy.

* ReplacementGoldfish: [[spoiler:Ziggy modeled them after the four deceased men he found along with four deceased women and the baby Shiki. He didn't know which of the four was Shiki's father, so he intended for all four to be Shiki's father figures.]]

* ActionDad: Sort of. On top of being one of the ''Edens One''[='=]s main fighters, [[spoiler:the final arc reveals him to be an android model of Shiki's father that Ziggy built to give Shiki a replacement for his deceased biological father.]]

* ArchnemesisDad: PlayedWith. [[spoiler:The final arc reveals Wizard is an android modeled after Shiki's biological father. However, neither Wizard or Shiki know about this, and they don't have anything resembling a familial relationship since they have only interacted as enemies.]]

* LukeIAmYourFather: [[spoiler:The final arc reveals Leonard (the human who became the model for Wizard) to be Shiki's biological father, with the mother being Regret (the human model for Witch), and none of them the wiser.]]

* MonsterClown: He seems more like a VillainousHarlequin at first, but true to his epithet as the "Death of Edens", he's a psychotic monster who views death as an art and puts people through mentally-scarring nightmares. His "Nightmare Clown" form best reflects his true nature, giving him the appearance of a black demon with a goofy nose.

* VillainousHarlequin: As a clown android who wants to exterminate humans, he appears and acts more comically than his [[RedBaron title]] would suggest, with his shtick revolving around dangerous but mostly whimsical circus tricks such as fighting on a tightrope or [[JugglingDangerously juggling and throwing swords]]. Once he puts on his Battle Dress, however, he transforms into a legitimate MonsterClown whose powers are PlayedForHorror.

The ''Edens One'' is the successor to the warship ''Edens Zero'', which was used as a prototype. It is superior to the ''Zero'' in every way, and serves to ferry Demon King Ziggy and spread his will to dominate all human life across the universe.

The ''Edens One''[='=]s mysterious captain, who hails from the Aoi Cosmos. First finding him after a shipwreck leaves him drifting in space, the ''Edens Zero'' crew initially see him as a nuisance until he navigates their ship to Sun Jewel in record time, seemingly cementing him as their pilot. After Rebecca makes her first time leap, however, he encounters the ''Zero'' crew again as if none of them had ever met, and as a reluctant servant of the evil Demon King Ziggy, something only Rebecca seems to notice...

* AccidentalPervert: He climbs into the Spa of Eden with Rebecca and Homura not because he's a pervert, but because he saw Happy with them and assumed it was a mixed bath. Rebecca kicks him into the air and boots him out for his error.
* AcePilot: Connor shows he has real piloting chops by flying the ''Edens Zero'' straight through a field of DangerousOrbitalDebris field none of the ship's crew would dare to enter, all without a single bump or scratch. The fact that [[OffscreenMomentOfAwesome the crew didn't notice his death-defying stunt]] shows just how much of a cakewalk he made it seem.
* AmbiguouslyEvil: Connor is revealed in World No.30 to be a willing if reluctant supporter of the evil Ziggy's plans for machine conquest, but he never seems like an inherently bad person, as he's shown to have standards against killing women and children.

* AuthorityInNameOnly: Connor in World No.30 is still TheCaptain of the ''Edens One'', but is reduced to a glorified pilot for hire who defers directly to Ziggy.
* BadassNormal: He's one of the few crew members to possess no superpowers or fighting skill, but he makes up for it by being a master-class AcePilot who can outmaneuver faster and more supernaturally gifted pilots than himself.

* BoomerangBigot: When Connor appears as an enemy to the ''Zero'' crew in World No.30, he firmly agrees with Ziggy that HumansAreTheRealMonsters and deserve to be ruled over by machines, despite being a human himself.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: He is a pompous man of many oddities and poor habits who grates the crew's nerves, but he's also a bona fide AcePilot when he puts himself behind the helm of the ''Edens Zero'', with or without the crew's permission.
* TheCaptain: He's the captain of the ''Edens One'', and [[TheyCallMeMisterTibbs insists that everyone address him as such]] in every situation. He turns out to be AuthorityInNameOnly in World No.30, however.

* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: He looks and acts like a pompous and self-entitled oaf most of the time, but when he puts himself at the helm of the ''Edens Zero'', he proves to be an AcePilot whose skills astound the Demon King's most experienced crewmates.

* EvilCostumeSwitch: In the anime adaptation, Connor's white hat and overcoat are changed to dark grey when he reappears in World No.30 as Ziggy's servant.

* ForWantOfANail: The ''Edens One'' remains intact in World No.30 as opposed to World No.29, which prevents Connor from meeting the ''Edens Zero'' crew. The debris field he helped get them through also doesn't exist in this world, so the ''Zero'' crew was able to make it there within the same span of time.
* ForgottenFirstMeeting: {{Subverted}}. Not counting Rebecca, the entire ''Zero'' crew appears to forget all about him after she makes the jump back in time from World No.29 to No.30, but this isn't the case. [[spoiler:Rebecca actually jumped between Universe 1 and 2, where events play out differently from each other, so it really is their first meeting.]]

* GoingDownWithTheShip: He attempted this in World No.29 when the ''Edens One'' was stuck in an accident before the ''Zero'' crew finds him, clutching the ship's steering wheel as evidence of his endeavor to survive.

* MyMasterRightOrWrong: Despite his reluctance to fire on the ''Edens Zero'' under Ziggy's orders in World No.30, he ultimately goes through with it since he believes in the Demon King's anti-human ideals.

* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: By the time the crew has just about had enough of Connor when they first meet him, they find he's already cut their three-day voyage to Sun Jewel down to a matter of minutes, having taken a shortcut through a perilous debris before any of them could notice.
* PrecisionFStrike: He teaches Pino how to say "Fuck you" in GratuitousEnglish.[[note]]"''Fakku yuu!''"[[/note]] The English translation by Kodansha [[{{Bowdlerise}} softens it to "Screw you"]], while the anime adaptation simply uses a SoundEffectBleep.
* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness: He slips into this when he finds himself starving, telling the crew his stomach is "beset by extreme emptiness".

* SophisticatedAsHell: Despite his formal manner of speaking, he isn't afraid to swear like a sailor, such as when he teaches Pino how to use profanity.

* TheyCallMeMisterTibbs: He insists that everyone call him "[[TheCaptain Captain]]", including those who aren't part of his crew or who'd otherwise contest his rank.
* TooHungryToBePolite: He shows poor table manners when having lunch at the ''Edens Zero''.
* UncertainDoom: His counterpart in World No.29 is last seen being held at gunpoint by Diego, who was told not to kill him. Whether or not he survived for much longer under Drakken Joe's imprisonment is neither shown nor mentioned.
* WalkingSpoiler: It's incredibly difficult to talk about Connor without giving away several major revelations about the true nature of the series' timeline, to say nothing of what's revealed in the series' second half...
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: He completely vanishes after his attack on the ''Edens Zero'' in World No.30. [[spoiler:While he appears again after the TimeSkip, it's quickly revealed to be his AlternateSelf from Universe 3 as opposed to this one from Universe 2, whose fate remains up in the air.]]

The former head of Müller Royal Laboratories from Planet Newton, and the mad scientist responsible for shattering Hermit's faith in humans. Originally a human with an insane distaste for robots, he rebuilt himself as an O-Tech after a prison break gone awry. He is hired by Ziggy to guard the virus-transmitting server over Foresta for the chance to experiment on Hermit again.

* ArcVillain: {{Downplayed}} with his role in the Foresta arc. Ziggy is the one responsible for building the server that drives the planet's robots insane, but Müller still has influence over the robots' behavior with it, and is positioned as the main and final obstacle the heroes must overcome in the arc.
* AxCrazy: After destroying Hook, he reveals himself as a cruel and sadistic maniac who takes great pleasure in torturing and massacring robots.
* BaitTheDog: The leadup to his reveal as a BitchInSheepsClothing, despite the ForegoneConclusion that he was involved in Hermit's hatred in humans, paints him as nothing but a good and warm-hearted individual just to make the whiplash hit harder. The anime adds an extra moment by making it look like he's trembling with horror and grief after Hook's destruction...and then he starts cheering over it with a cartoonishly evil smile.
* BaldOfEvil: He has lost most of his hair, but is just as evil as when his head was full of hair.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: He presents himself as a kind and humble friend to bots so they can help him in his plan to destroy Planet Hook and its entire bot population.
* BlackEyesOfCrazy: The whites of Müller's eyes turn black several times: once when he has Hermit [[IHaveYouNowMyPretty strung up and at his mercy]], and again out of shock upon piecing Young Weisz's identity together.
* TheBusCameBack: Originally a PredecessorVillain appearing in flashbacks to Hermit's DarkAndTroubledPast, Müller returns in the Foresta arc as a cyborg under Ziggy's employment.
* CombatTentacles: His robot body's right hand consists of three mechanical tendrils, which can generate an electrical shock powerful enough to paralyze Weisz's body and dismantle his Arsenal Suit.
* {{Cyborg}}: He rebuilds himself as an O-Tech in the years since Hermit last sees him, the only organic piece of him left being his head.
* DirtyCoward: After getting reduced to a helpless head, he begs for Hermit to save and promising her that he has reformed. However, Hetmit, Weisz, and Laguna can clearly see that Müller is really only banking on RedemptionEarnsLife as an excuse to not take any responsibility.
* EvilGloating: Once Hook has been blown to smithereens, he drops the "kind old man" facade to celebrate and rub Hermit's responsibility for helping him in her face.
* EvilIsPetty: The Rutherfords were an influential and rich family that supported his work until he was arrested, after which they rather understandably withdrew it once his crimes came to light. Once he escaped prison, he killed the parents and kidnapped their children to perform cruel experiments on, dissecting Jinn and turning him into a cyborg while [[ForcedToWatch forcing Kleene to watch]].
* EvilLuddite: {{Downplayed}}. As a scientist and technician, he fully embraces machines that can help advance humanity. Rather, he despises [[FantasticRacism machines who look and act like humans]], and he's made it his goal to wipe them out of the cosmos.
* EvilMakesYouUgly: Before he turns on Hermit, Müller looks like a trustworthy scientist with nothing to indicate his evil nature. However, after his betrayal, he undergoes a MadnessMakeover that leaves him ungroomed with thinning hair. As the years go on, he becomes a monstrous O-Tech with almost no hair, making him unrecognizable from his friendly facade.
* EvilOldFolks: He is an old, robot-hating bastard who tricks Hermit into helping him build a DoomsdayDevice to obliterate a nearby bot planet, then keeps her alive to experiment on her.

* FalselyReformedVillain: He tries pulling this on Hermit after getting his body destroyed, claiming to have seen the light and realized that machines have hearts after so blatantly dismissing them as emotionless pieces of junk. Hermit and her friends don't buy it for a moment, knowing he's just trying to [[VillainsWantMercy milk what little pity he can get out of them]].
* FauxAffablyEvil: He pretends to be kind to robots just to manipulate them all. Once he reveals his true nature to Hermit, Müller behaves completely barbaric towards her and beating her up to vent out his own frustrations. After that, the moments where he tries using his manners again just send him into violent [[MoodSwinger mood swings]].
* FeelingOppressedByTheirExistence: His genocidal approach to robots boils down to the fact that he can't stand the sight of "living" machines that look and act like people, calling them garbage and viewing them as a mockery of humanity.
* GagNose: Among his more distinct features is his cartoonishly long nose.
* GratuitousEnglish: In Japanese, he says "please" in English while [[VillainsWantMercy groveling for Hermit's mercy]]. The English translation changes it to the [[GratuitousGerman German]] translation "''bitte''" to KeepItForeign.
* HateSink: He convinces Hermit that [[HumansAreBastards humans don't have hearts]] by being irredeemably evil, sadistic, manipulative, and fully responsible for robot genocide and poor Hermit's initial broken state. On top of that, he murdered Jinn and Kleene's parents, and is directly responsible for turning Jinn into a cyborg and Kleene losing her emotions.
* HypocriticalHumor: He calls Professor Weisz a "freak" for declining to publish a groundbreaking theory he'd proven, giving up all the accolades and benefits that would've come with it. The younger Weisz takes this poorly, seeing how it's coming from a MadScientist who blew up a planet of robots just because he hated them, and turned to human experimentation after discovering the joys of being a {{cyborg}}.
* IHaveYouNowMyPretty: There's an ''extremely'' creepy vibe in the way he immobilizes Hermit and goes on about how much he wants to "experiment" with her body again.
* ILied: His whole spiel about saving machines and how mankind mutually relies on them is all a cover to gain Hermit's sympathy. Simply put, he despises robots to his core.
* InelegantBlubbering: Laguna notes that Dr. Müller's tears from Hermit's MegatonPunch look filthy, considering that Dr. Müller begged for undeserved mercy and refused to take any responsibility for torturing the Rutherford siblings.
* InsufferableGenius: He can't help but toot his own horn about how advanced his O-Tech body is. In fact, the [[UsefulNotes/JapaneseWritingSystem kanji]] for "genius" is engraved on his back.
* JustAMachine: He takes his FantasticRacism against androids to far greater extremes than most, not just believing that androids have no emotions, but aiming to destroy any where he can find them [[FeelingOppressedByTheirExistence so he won't have to deal with their existence]].
* KarmicTransformation: {{Subverted}}. After escaping from prison and having to rebuild himself as an O-Tech, he claims to have gotten used to his body and actually quite enjoys being part-machine, despite his previously established hatred towards robots.
* LaserGuidedKarma: After fifteen years of sick and twisted experiments conducted ForTheEvulz, he finally gets his just desserts when Weisz obliterates his O-Tech body and leaves him sniveling at the mercy of the less than forgiving Hermit, one of his many undeserving victims. To rub salt in the wound, Hermit tricks him into thinking they're friends again just so she can get his retina scan and hack into the server he was guarding, right before punching him in the face and discarding him just like he did to her years ago.
* LosingYourHead: By the end of his battle with Weisz, Müller's O-Tech body is blown to bits, leaving nothing but his head. He's still able to survive, but can only crawl around pathetically with tiny, retractable arms where his ears used to be.
* LovesTheSoundOfScreaming: He brags about how much he enjoyed hearing Jinn and Kleene cry in agony while he tortured them in his experiments.
* MadScientist: He's the ringleader of a whole team of them, dedicating himself to building a MagicalParticleAccelerator that could be easily repurposed into a DoomsdayDevice for a planet of machines, and keeping all the surviving robots on hand as lab rats to satisfy his sadistic cravings. He also turned to experimenting on Jinn and Kleene when they were only children so he could rebuild himself as the ultimate O-Tech after losing much of his old body in an explosion.
* MadnessMakeover: After two years of non-stop experimentation on Hermit, his hair becomes disheveled and he has PermaStubble, a reflection of his fractured mental state by the time he's finally arrested. It gets worse when he returns in the present day fifteen years later, his hair whittling away to thin strands, and his eyes completely stuck with HellishPupils, giving him a creepier and more inhuman appearance than ever before.
* ManipulativeBastard: He tricks the naive Hermit to obtain her full cooperation in a project to create an Ether accelerator, claiming it would save Planet Hook from its Ether shortage. The truth is he wanted to destroy Planet Hook merely because [[FantasticRacism it was a planet of robots]].
* MaskOfSanity: He takes the cake among his old team. While the others still act FauxAffablyEvil after revealing their true colors, Müller's persona permanently flips from a calm and grandfatherly figure to a cartoonish, cackling madman.
* MotiveDecay: His original motivation to destroy all robots was never deep to begin with, but ever since he broke out of prison, his goals have devolved to simply making Hermit suffer and practicing general human experimentation to upgrade his own cyborg body.
* NeverMyFault: As he explains to Weisz and Hermit of the time he was imprisoned, Müller blames a possible conspiracy for "falsely" imprisoning him, even though he was imprisoned for having blown up planet Hook and having tortured Hermit.
* NoSell: He boasts while fighting Arsenal that his years of research and torturing others went into improving his new body so that it would be immune to many different forms of attack, repeatedly claiming that nothing Weisz does is actually hurting him.
