* {{Adorkable}}: While Kazama has ''a lot'' more social skills than hs canon self due to taking after his father, whenever romance comes up he loses all of his tact and seems to be channeling [[MassEffect Garrus]] whenever [[spoiler: Izanami]] hits on him. Luckily for him, she considers it one of his main selling points and she thinks it makes him adorable.
* AnimalMotifs: He's the tiger, the king of the jungle, not the fox.
* AntiHero: Starts out as a straight up hero, but after Orochimaru's BreakingLecture he becomes a Type I, by Kitsune's World he's a Type II, by the Kumo arc he's a Type III, by the Ame arc he's become a very dark Type IV [[spoiler:if you don't think he's become a FallenHero.]]
* ArmorIsUseless: Averted. [[spoiler: His new TinTyrant armor has protected him from Susanoo's attacks and its SpikesOfVillainy make it rather easy for him to get blood for his BloodMagic rituals.]]
* AwfulTruth: The second major dent to his idealism happened when he learned all of Konoha's dirty secrets that his canon self is blissfully unaware of.

* BlessedWithSuck: You cannot honestly say that you've never thought of how awesome it would be to travel dimensions, pick up friends, fight evil, and find out if Haku is a girl or not. In this, Naruto does all these awesome things... and he keeps getting awesome powers... but it's sort of offset by the fact that in almost every dimension he's ended up in, he's faced a threat to his life and the lives of those he cared about. Not to mention the fact that he's forced to use this dimensional power to escape from the Madara Trio...
* [[spoiler: BloodMagic: He can use Hidan's Jashin/Amatsu-Mikaboshi Death Controlling Possessed Jutsu. Although he's GenreSavvy enough to use a clone as a sacrifice instead of himself. Best shown when he beheaded Susanoo.]]
* BlowYouAway: Wind is his element as always.
** AnIcePerson: One of his Fuuton jutsu called Cold Wave unleashes a [[DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment freezing gale that can...freeze things.]]
* BoringButPractical: His Uzumaki Bloodline. It lets him master Ninjutsu quickly -- which he could already do before he unlocked it -- and use [[ChainPain Chakra Chains]] which are basically watered down versions of his old Kyuubi Chakra Arms.
* BornUnlucky: In a complete contrast to the BornWinner he has become in canon, no matter what fancy new powers he gains or badass new teachers that come along to show him the ropes things ''never'' go his way.
* ChainPain: Kazama's main form of attack is to create Chakra Chains that [[NiceJobFixingItVillain Tsukiyomi accidentally unlocked.]] Kazama later takes his chains in a new direction because circumstances make it impossible for him to make the Rasenshuriken. It results in...
** EpicFlail: Kazama attaches a Wind enhanced Rasengan onto the tip of his Charkra Chains turning his chain into a tornado ''able to vaporize a persons body!'' [[spoiler: Orochimaru made an excellent guinea pig.]] Kazama calls it the Storm Flail.
* CoolSword: The Kusanagi. Orochimaru's old sword which he got in the chaos of his first dimensional leap. He really like too use it even though he's not really good at swordsmanship. Even after [[spoiler:killing Orochimaru]] and gaining its loyalty he goes from bad to average. It was only ever useful against [[SmugSnake Yagura]].
** EmpathicWeapon: In ''Echoes'' the Kusanagi is the REAL Susanoo's sword used to kill the REAL Yamata-no-Orochi, is sentient, and will only use its full potential if its previous owner is killed.
** DualWielding: Thanks to multiversal shenanigans Kazama gets his hands on a second Kusanagi but DualWielding actually made him a ''worse'' swordsman and then one Kusanagi conviently broke during his fight with Yagura.
* TheConfidant: To [[spoiler: Izanami]]. He's the only person who has an inkling of who she truly is underneath all of her trollyness and ham.
* CosmicPlaything: The multiverse ''really'' loves to ruin his life in any way it concievably can.
* ChessMotif: The Pawn (Because of his potential) and the Queen.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Deconstructed. As is everything about canon Naruto. He actually never had it. [[spoiler:Amatsu-Mikaboshi]] tells Kazama that his ChronicHeroSyndrome was just him being a PlayedForDrama AttentionWhore and he never cared about doing the right thing...Kazama can't find a reason to disagree.
* TheCynic: He beats ''everyone'' in the cynicism department. The sad result of him being a CosmicPlaything sent through a multiversal TraumaCongaLine.
* CynicismCatalyst: He's had ''a lot'' of them. First was Orochimaru's BreakingLecture, then he met a KnightTemplar version of Sarutobi who admitted that he would use Kitsune as a weapon if he ran out of options, followed by Kushina admitting that the Kyuubi was sealed inside of him, not because every available option was exhausted, but because her and Minato wanted him to be their TykeBomb by using destiny as a justification, followed by Yagura killing [[spoiler: Yahiko]] ForTheEvulz.
* CynicalMentor: [[TheCynic Kaz]][[AntiHero ama]] is this for [[IdiotHero Naruko]]. Neither of them realized this for [[TheCorruption different]] [[IncorruptiblePurePureness reasons]].
* [[spoiler:DealWithTheDevil:]] [[TheHero Kazama]] has recently made one with [[spoiler:[[BigBad Tsukiyomi]]]], for power.
* [[spoiler:DespairEventHorizon]]: Minato's KirkSummation has made [[TheHero Kazama]] cross it. And it causes him to [[spoiler:go crawling to [[BigBad Tsukiyomi]] for power.]]

To review: He has a troubled childhood coupled with him failing to protect his loved ones, he made a deal with the BigBad for power in order to protect his loved ones, became said BigBad's BastardUnderstudy, then underwent a HazyFeelTurn turning him into a AntiHero-FallenHero hybrid, he forcefully took over a country, then he becomes a WellIntentionedExtremist in order to bring order to Amekagure, he begins to make deals with TheDarkSide for more power, then he begins to wear TinTyrant armor with a scary CoolHelmet that [[EvilSoundsDeep makes his voice sound deep]]. Now all he needs to do is get horribly scarred, [[ItMakesSenseInContext marry Izanami, and tell Itachi that he's his step-father]] and the circle shall be complete.]]
* {{Deconstruction}}: Of how badass and cool it would be for Naruto to be a AntiHero. While Kazama ''is'' a badass, being an AntiHero has taken a immense toll on him him making him constantly risk pulling a FaceHeelTurn, and he also deconstructs "being born as TheChosenOne born to defeat the BigBad" cliche. It is pointed out from a certain point of view Minato and Kushina turning Kazama into a Jinchuuriki has made them no better than Gaara's parents with their flimsy "destiny" justification and that by trying to turn Kazama into TheChosenOne it has given him a very low sense of self worth making him think no one ever cared for him outside of the fact he might be the Child of the Prophecy and in order to give himself a sense of self worth he has gained some dangerous megalomaniacal tendencies.
* DidYouJustScamCthulhu: In the very first chapter when he accidentally hijacked the Shinigami's powers.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: Not Kazama, but his parents, they completely failed to consider that Kazama would have his own hopes and dreams that ''didn't'' match up with their own slothful ideals, that he wouldn't like being manipulated into being the Child of the Prophecy, that he had a life of his own and was not an extention of there's, or the basic fact that he was a human being with free will with his own personal beliefs that would make him hate the role they planned for him and that their plan would make him hate ''them''.
* DiscardAndDraw: In the very first chapter he lost all of his Kyuubi powers in exchange for his SpaceMaster powers that drive the entire plot. This version also inherited Kushina's Bloodline which he can now use because the Kyuubi isn't screwing with his chakra anymore.
* DisproportionateRetribution: His plans for Konoha are slowly devolving into this.
* TheDreaded: After his fight with Hanzo, Yagura, and [[spoiler:the Sanbi]] he has become the most feared thing in the Ame-verse's Elemental Nations. Even the remaining [[spoiler:[[SmugSuper Bijuu]]]] want to run away in fear after they learned what he did to [[spoiler:[[AssholeVictim the]] [[DeaderThanDead Sanbi.]]]]
* EnemyMine: He has teamed up with [[spoiler:Tsukiyomi]] to kill [[BigBadDuumvirate Hanzo and Yagura.]][[spoiler: Their partnership has continued even after Hanzo and Yagura's death.]]
* EverythingIsBetterWithSpinning: Or worse. After [[spoiler:he killed Sai]] Kazama's Rasengans have switched from "stun" to "kill" and now grind his opponents into hamburger meat like the technique was intended to do.
* [[spoiler: EvilCostumeSwitch]]: [[spoiler: Kazama is zigzzaging this trope in the Alternate Amekagure arc. He is now wearing an Akatsuki coat at Konan's request and as a sign of friendship. * FailureHero: Kazama sees himself as one. This has been taken UpToEleven after [[spoiler:Yahiko's death - [[EnemyMine he's so desperate to succeed that he teams up with Tsukiyomi]].]]
* FailureKnight: Kazama once more. He's heavily motivated by all of his past failures. And unfortunately the multiverse goes out of its way to make sure he fails ''a lot''.
* {{Flight}}: His new Jetfire Jutsu that lets him shoot fire out of his feet like rockets and allows him to fly.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: He's this in the Ame-verse. He arrived in the timeline before he was born and with only with the support of only four people [[spoiler: killed Hanzo, Yagura, obliterated the Sanbi from existence]] and became the most feared man alive.
* FollowInMyFootsteps: Kazama's Minato and Kushina both wanted to control his life and came up with an InsaneTrollLogic GambitRoulette plan to turn Kazama into the Ninja Messiah using destiny as a justification for trying to mold their son into a TykeBomb. Kazama doesn't like this ''at all'' and it has given him MommyIssues and a OedipusComplex.
* [[spoiler: AGodAmI[=/=]AGodIAmNot]]: [[spoiler:Kazama manages to play both of these tropes at once. He turned down a chance to become a capital 'G' God offered by [[GodOfEvil Amatsu-Mikaboshi]] by hijacking the Shinigami's power and offered the ability to remake reality in his image. Kazama rejected the offer because he would become a pawn... But at the same time due to him breaking the {{HSQ}} meter in his fight with Hanzo and Yagura and the insane events that followed it have the citizens of Amekagure worshipping him a'la Pain - and he finds himself enjoying it.]]

* GoodPeopleHaveGoodSex: [[spoiler: Izanami must be very skilled for Kazama to be able to enjoy his first time as much as he did.]]
* GreenEyedMonster: He sometimes shows jelousy towards other Naruto that have better luck in life than he does, but always manages to reign things in.

* HeWhoFightsMonsters: This is a major component of Kazama's character with him having to fight the absolute ''worst'' people in the multiverse where extreme measure's are ''needed'' to take them down, the two main examples are an ''[[UpToEleven eviler]]'' version of Orochimaru and the Nazi cannibal known as Yagura.
* HumansAreFlawed: Kazama has adopted this view about humanity. He doesn't think HumansAreBastards but he has acknowleged that humanity is not, nor ever will be perfect.
** Unfortunately, he's leaning towards the more pessimistic angle - that the 1% "truly good" people are worth more than the more flawed. Uh, Kazama - maybe you should take an ''ittsy'' look at the kind of people you've recruited, then tell us whether you still think this.
*** HumansAreBastards: Kazama's misanthropy has had him graduated into this trope by chapter 41.
* InnocentBlueEyes-->IcyBlueEyes[=/=]CreepyBlueEyes: Played with. He was never as innocent as his canon self but after entering Hardcore AntiHero territory his eyes have been described as disturbing.
* [[spoiler: IntangibleMan: Amatsu-Mikaboshi gave him the Madara's phasing abilities but he refuses to use it because he realizes that if he relies on Amatsu-Mikaboshi's power it will be easier to corrupt him.]]
* InsecureLoveInterest: To [[spoiler: Izanami]]. Without his megalomania he acts rather shy and his self esteem is so low he doesn't understand why she likes him and he considers her to be to good for him and out of his league.
* {{Irony}}: Kazama's life is ''made'' out of {{Irony}}. To start: [[FaceHeelTurn Sasuke]] joined [[BigBad Orochimaru]] for power because he felt that he was to weak after being defeated by a family member he hates. [[spoiler:[[TheHero Kazama]] has now done the same thing, after he was defeated by his father, Minato, whom ''he'' hates. He has become [[BigBad Tsukiyomi's]] apprentice in exchange for power.]] Then he fought Hanzo and Yagura to stop Nagato from becoming Pain [[spoiler: but Nagato died and Kazama basically becomes Pain with people worshipping him as a god and everything.]] Kazama also became a village leader like he always dreamed of as a child but as an adult he hates his position of authority and can't wait to vacate it. And on a multiversal level Naruko got a good Fugaku and Mikoto as good parental figures while Kazama got [[spoiler:Tsukiyomi]]. Also, every villain that is obssessed with Sasuke in {{canon}} is obsessed with Kazama instead.
** Minato and Kushina [[InsaneTrollLogic thought that destiny would turn him into the Messiah]], reality turned him into a [[spoiler:''[[DarkMessiah Dark]]'' [[DarkMessiah Messiah]] instead.]]
** In canon Tobi/[[spoiler:Obito]] tells Naruto that reality will catch up with him and make him just like him. Guess what happened to Kazama?
** Tobi is a DarthVaderClone, can you guess what Kazama is?
** [[RuleOfThree Tobi is obssessed with proving his ideals are superior to Naruto's. Can you guess what Kazama wants to prove to his parents?]]
** Canon Naruto fights like Minato but has Kushina's personality. Kazama takes after his father mentally and fights with a Uzumaki fighting style.
** [[spoiler: Once more he hates his father, but different versions of the same person both became their SecondLove and [[TheConfidant Confidant]] that keeps them in line and stops them from doing stupid things.]]
** Canon-Naruto is the ChosenOne and TheMessiah, Kazama is slowly becoming TheAntiChrist because he is an UnchosenOne.
* ItsNotYouItsMyEnemies: Kazama tries to invoke this when he tells [[spoiler:Izanami]] that she'll just be in danger by being in a relationship with him. She defies it by pointing out that if he alienates the people that love him it will just make it easier for Tsukiyomi to turn him into his DragonAscendant.
* [[spoiler: IntangibleMan: He can turn intangible like the Madara due to being blessed by Amatsu-Mikaboshi but refuses to use it because he realizes it's trying to corrupt him.]]
* JackOfAllStats-->GlassCannon: Kazama is trying to be a JackOfAllStats, but both a version of Jiraiya and [[spoiler: Tsukiyomi]] think he'd be better off as a GlassCannon. Kazama eventually admits they're right and has changed his fighting style accordingly.
* KickTheSonOfABitch: [[spoiler: His M.O as the Amekage.]]

* KidSamurai: Comes off as one when using the Kusanagi. He's not a very good swordsman but loves to use it for sentimental reasons.
* KnightInSourArmor: Skirts a very thin line between being this and being a KnightTemplar.
* TheLeader: A mix of Type II and Type IV.
* LikeFatherLikeSon: Kazama clearly takes a lot after his father rather than his mother despite how much he hates his old man but unlike in most cases in fanfiction Kazama hates his mother just as much as his father because they both turned him into a TykeBomb.
* LikesOlderWomen: Every romantic relationship he's ever had has been with a woman older than he is.
* LongRangeFighter: Type III. Kazama's primary fighting style is to spam Kage Bushin and use them as a buffer then use his Chakra Chains to keep his enemies at a respectable distance while he bombards his enemies with his Hot Wave, Cold Wave, blast them with Katon Jutsu, set up his Storm Flail, or prepare his BloodMagic ritual. He has close range skills but his taijutsu and kenjutsu are strictly average and is only competent in close range with the Rasengan.
* LossOfIdentity: As the story progresses Kazama Arashi has been finding it harder to identify with his former persona, Naruto Uzumaki. Best shown during his private moments with [[spoiler:Izanami]], they never use their original names when talking to each other.
* LoveRedeems: His megalomania noticeably wanes - and sometimes outright disappears - when he has his private moments with [[spoiler: Izanami]].
* MacGuffinGuy: His dimensional powers drive the entire plot. Lots of powerful people, organizations, and cosmic forces want him or his allegiance, much to his dismay.
* MagneticHero: Downplayed. While he is rather good at getting people to work with him no one instantly agrees with him anymore because he's lost his Kyuubi MindRape powers and people actually criticize him. Nowadays his friendships start out more as alliances of convience that slowly grows into true friendship. Kazama himself has noted that he's not as charismatic as he used to be.
* ManInWhite: The morally ambigous variety as [[spoiler: the Amekage.]]
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: While Kazama is masculine, in romance he takes the feminine role [[spoiler: becoming submissive to Izanami who plays the masculine role convincing Kazama to take their relationship to the next level and acts a the dominant force.]]
* MesACrowd: Kage Bushin as always. Although Kazama abuses the Kage Bushin training method ''a lot'' more than his canon self.
* MommyIssues[=/=]OedipusComplex: Manages to have both disorders at once! He hates his mother and wants to beat her face in, while he wants to completely supplant his father and destroy everything they both believe in. Mainly proving destiny doesn't exist and rendering the Child of the Prophecy false.
* MoralityChain: To [[spoiler: Izanami]]. She doesn't realize it, but she's as close to a FaceHeelTurn as Kazama is and their love is stopping her fall.
* MustNotDieAVirgin: [[spoiler: In an odd case where, Izanami, a woman, convinces Kazama to follow through with this trope.]]
* NotSoDifferent: Although Kazama will never admit it he takes a lot after his father, Minato instead of his mother, Kushina (Though he hates both of them equally) This could be the divergent element from {{canon}}. Kazama is a lot like his father with his rather calm and level headed personality unlike his HotBlooded {{canon}} self and his mother. The similarities continue across the multiverse with Kazama's personality being rather similar to the Minato from the Alive!Yondaime World. Although that Minato is a cynical optimist instead of a pessimist like his son.
** Kazama's rather craptastic life also has some rather scary similarity's to Pain's.
*** This has recently been taken to its logical conclusions in recent chapters. Kazama has basically become Pain in all but name.
* NiceGuy -> JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Constantly tries to deny that he's a good person because he just thinks that it will make it easier for people to manipulate him, but Izanami points out that even though he has fallen very far he is still a very altruistic person.
* OfficialCouple: With [[spoiler: Izanami.]]
* OneWingedAngel: For the first chapter only. During his fight with Orochimaru, after his seal was twisted, he basically turned into a mutant version of his Nine Tails Chakra Mode. DiscardAndDraw then comes into effect exchanging his mutant OneWingedAngel Kyuubi form for his SpaceMaster powers that drive the entire plot.
* ParentalIssues: He has a long list of grievences against both of his parents as Kushina found out when she learned he didn't like their destiny excuses ''at all''.
* PrettyBoy: Kazama has constantly been described as a lady-killer in the making by both men and woman. Tsunami, Haku, Shizune, and Yugito all admit he is very attractive. [[spoiler: Izanami even ''gropes his ass'' for fun.]]
* {{Pride}}: Just like dear old dad but with the added bonus of a GodOfEvil amplifying it.
* PlayingWithFire: Kazama begins to learn Katon Jutsu under [[spoiler:[[BigBad Tsukiyomi's]]]] tutelege and they have become a vital part of his arsenal almost eclipsing his Rasengan and its variants.
* [[spoiler: PowerOfTheVoid: Thanks to Amatsu-Mikaboshi. Best shown when he accidentally obliterated [[AssholeVictim the Sanbi]] from existance.]]
* PurpleIsPowerful: His second outfit incorporates as much purple as it does orange.
** His chakra has become purple, though that's not a good thing.
* RedBaron: Hanzo gave him two names. "The Maelstrom" and "August Star".
* [[spoiler: RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: Zigzagged when he he wore an Akatsuki coat and when his clones use their Amatsu-Mikaboshi BloodMagic rituals.]]
* {{Revenge}}: What motivates him to kill [[spoiler:Yagura and Hanzo]], and what he wants on Tsukiyomi for the suffering he caused him. In general, Kazama is much more vindictive than his canon self, and he views revenge as something positive, rather than negative.
* SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl: Has this type of dynamic with [[spoiler: Izanami]]. Kazama likes to act mature, focused and antiheroic. While [[spoiler: Izanami]] loves to be as hammy as possible.
* ScrewDestiny: His very existence could be considered the epitome of ScrewDestiny.
* ShutUpKiss: He manages to turn the table on Izanami in during chapter 41.
* ShootTheDog: In the very first chapter when he killed [[spoiler:Sai]] because it was the most convenient option in a horrible situation. [[spoiler: As the Amekage he's shot a lot of dogs while performing a massive political purge.]]
* SlowlySlippingIntoEvil: A major part of his character arc. And the author has been really good at making him as morally ambiguous as possible leaving it up to the reader to decide how far he's fallen and if he's an AntiHero, AntiVillain, FallenHero, TragicHero, a PragmaticHero, UnscrupulousHero, a case of GoodIsNotNice, or possiblly the true BigBad. His main saving grace is his LoveRedeems moments with [[spoiler: Izanami.]]
* SpaceMaster: His ability to jump across the multiverse that drives the entire plot - that he also really isn't good at using.

* DumbBlonde: Downplayed. She's not TheDitz but she doesn't have as many eureka moments as her canon self and tends to leave the deep thinking to Yugito and Kurama.

** KamehameHadoken: Her Imperial Water Tide, a Water chakra infused Rasengan that she can shoot as an EnergyBlast with enough power to create a lake.

* HeroicWannabe: Despite making big speeches about truth, justice, etc. She doesn't really believe in it and only wants to be a hero for attention and praise.
* HeroWorshipper: Kazama's Number 1 FanGirl.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: This is Naruko's motivation for ''everything''. She wants TrueCompanions so badly that she created a completely fake personality because she thinks that no one would like her more somber real personality.
* IncorruptiblePurePureness: Naruko appears to be this trope incarnate. But then it is completely averted. Naruko is such a skilled liar that she convince herself that she is this trope.

* ScrewDestiny: One of the few things she believes in despite unwittingly being the perfect Child of the Prophecy. When she finds out she freaks.
* SelectiveObliviousness: Tends to ignore her clansmens more... immoral moments. Namely Kazama's megalomania, Chibaku's lack of moral scrupples, and Yugito's lack of regret over certain past actions.
* UndyingLoyalty: Her entire world revolves around Kazama.

!!Sasori - The Puppet Master

* AnimalMotifs: Both the scorpion (duh) but also the spider.
* AntiHero: A definite Type V. Though when Chibaku is involved he goes up the scale to a Type IV.
* {{Badass}}: WordOfGod says that he's the strongest member of the Arashi clan and it shows with him constantly fighting on par with opponents that his fighting style is worthless against. [[spoiler:Like the ''Juubi''.]]
** AdaptationalBadass: Or rather [[MagnificentBastard Sasori]] ''shows'' more of what he's made of here than in canon, where he'd been a StarterVillain who was ultimately taken down by the teamwork of [[TookALevelInBadass Sakura]] and [[BadassGrandma Chiyo]]. By being TheLancer in this fic, he's a [[TokenEvilTeammate good-aligned]] MagnificentBastard - he can solve almost any tactical problem in half a second. Has plans within plans. Effortlessly blackmails the Hokage. Breaks in and out of [[TheAlcatraz inescapable prisons]] like they're [[CardboardPrison made of cardboard]], [[spoiler: stands up to the ''[[EldritchAbomination Juubi]]'']], [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking and is immune to the Sexy no Jutsu]]. Also, because he hasn't been a victim of the plot like his canon self and isn't a PsychopathicManchild or a DeathSeeker.
** BadassBookworm
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: [[MagnificentBastard Sasori's]] mind works on its own logic. It's what stops him from crossing the MoralEventHorizon and helps him be a MagnificentBastard.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Sasori is a rather dark version of this trope. While he is most definitely a loyal member of the Arashi clan, he completely lacks ''any'' of their morals: He does everything ForScience, is a grave robber, kills people and turns them into puppets on a regular basis, and uses biological warfare. All these things would normally put you past the MoralEventHorizon, but Sasori is just so damn ''good'' at what he does everyone just ignores his 'quirks'. This overlaps with him being a MagnificentBastard.
* ChessMotif: The Knight
* ControlFreak: A self admitted one. He even compares himself to a spider instead of a scorpion.
* TheConsigliere: Acts as one towards Kazama. He is a far more competent and experienced shinobi than Kazama and seems to know almost everything there is to know but lacks Kazama's vision and the whole human puppet thing makes him somewhat untrustworthy to people who don't know him.
* CrazyPrepared: Sasori all the way. He has practically everything one could want or need sealed inside or built into his puppet body. One could wonder if he exchanged notes with {{Batman}} when he rebuilt himself.
* TheCynic: Has currently lost the Most Cynical Person in the Multiverse Award to Kazama recently, though. He is still in second place.
* GuileHero[=/=]ManipulativeBastard: Depends on being which one is more pragmatic at the time.

* OddFriendship: Forms a lot of these. Starting with Kazama mainly because they were the only two adults in the Arashi clan at the time. Then he bonded with Tazuna over architecture. Followed by Killer Bee over ''rap''(He loves all forms of art). His last OddFriendship is with [[spoiler:Good Orochimaru]]. They just seem to get along despite being completely different.
* OlderThanTheyLook: This ''is'' Sasori.
* OutOfFocus: For a while, he didn't get to do much following the "Land of Waves arc". He finally took to the stage again and showed his prowess in the "Separation arc".
* PapaWolf: Do NOT hurt Chibaku, you WILL regret it. He won't even bother trying to experiment on the perpetrator no matter how valuable their corpse will be to further his art.
* PlayingWithFire: His Flamethrower.
* PoisonousFriend-->ToxicFriendInfluence: Towards Kazama again. He honestly wants what's best for Kazama and wants him to become a great shinobi but unfortunately "what's best" include's tearing down every idealistic view he has for Konoha and his influence helped him become an AntiHero. Though Tsukiyomi and [[spoiler:Amatsu-Mikaboshi]] did far more than he could have ever hoped to do or wanted to do. He later regrets his actions after seeing Kazama's fall in the Kumo arc.
* PragmaticHero: He will always go for the quickest most logical solution when dealing with a problem, morals be damned.
* PoisonousPerson: Just like in canon. But this version goes a step further having invented nerve gas.
* PsychopathicManchild: Averted. Raising Chibaku caused him to grow up mentally and act like a man in his thirties.
* RedHeadedHero: Well, AntiHero.
* TheSmartGuy[=/=]EvilGenius: Depends on how moral you think this version Sasori is.

** NotSoStoic: Whenever Chibaku's in trouble.
* TheSpock: What he really is. But he will always claim it's because of LackOfEmpathy.
* TokenEvilTeammate: At first. When we meet him, he has practically no morals whatsoever (besides somewhat caring for Chibaku) but no one cares because he is a MagnificentBastard. Around the time Sasori becomes more ChaoticNeutral he's replaced in this capacity by the Dark Wolf.
* TheyCalledMeMad: When the Sandaime Kazekage declared him mentally insane when he came up with human puppets he responded by doing it to himself to show him up.
* WeakButSkilled: Comes off as this due to almost every opponent he fights is either strong against puppetry or basically being a [[TheJuggernaut Juggernaut.]]

!!Chibaku Arashi - The Puppeteer Naruto

* AntiHero: Although Chibaku hides it quite well by being the PluckyComicRelief of the Arashi clan he is a UnscrupulousHero. He is very amoral at best shown [[spoiler: when he kills N.]] And if that isn't enough he commonly disappears on Sasori's orders and reappears with a very bloody kunai...
* ChessMotif: The Knight.
* CovertPervert: Chibaku THINKS he's this. Nobody is fooled. [[spoiler: He's even able to stay one after becoming a cyborg and losing all of his horomones. ''That's'' how perverted he is.]]
* DeadpanSnarker: Chibaku's snark reigns supreme in this story. It sometimes reaches JossWhedon levels.
* {{Deconstruction}}: Of Naruto being raised by a cool MagnificentBastard teacher. It left him with a rather flexible set of morals and signs of being a SociopathicHero or a borderline sociopath.
* HeroWorshipper: Sasori's only fan.
* LetsGetDangerous: Chibaku is usually just the PluckyComicRelief, due to him being a GIGANTIC DeadpanSnarker, and deludes himself into thinking that nobody knows that he's a CovertPervert. But that just covers up that he is the most pragmatic amoral Naruto. This is best shown with the way [[spoiler: he killed N.]] He was downright cold and somewhat terrifying, and it was one of the saddest moments of the story. This troper didn't find him funny for a while. Chibaku gets dangerous again later when he pulls a ShutUpHannibal on [[spoiler:Alpha.]]

* PillarsOfMoralCharacter: He is a firm beleiver in them and represents all four. ''On'' or "Reprocity" towards Kazama for stopping him from committing suicide, ''Gimu'' or "Piety" he has absolute loyalty to Kazama because he saved him from himself and he believes that he can never truly repay him, ''Giri'' or "Duty" mainly with him serving Kazama once more, and finally ''Ninjo'' or "Compassion", mainly shown with his interactions with Yugito.
* PlatonicLifePartners: With Yugito. They eventually become the best of friends and at times he seems to have faith in her than loyalty to Kazama or Minato.
* UndyingLoyalty: First to Minato, then to Kazama. He's so loyal that he gave up living in a world where his father figure and LoveInterest are still alive.

!!Zabuza Momochi - The Swordsman

* AntiHero: Very cynical and anytime he faces a threat he will use lethal force no matter how sympathetic they are in order to protect the people he cares about.

She will do the right thing simply because it's the ''right thing to do''! She has a stronger moral compass than anyone else in the entire story.
* CoolBigSis: She acts as one for Naruko and Gaara.
* TheCynic: In Third Place in the Arashi clan, she always prepares for the worst.
* DefectorFromDecadence: Yugito didn't join the Arashi clan because it was the right thing to do (originally) or because she agreed with their ideals. She joined because she was disgusted with working for Orochimaru and what Kumo had become... Plus it was better than falling to her death.

He has a Sharingan, is skilled in all forms of being a ninja, and has a powerful SuperMode but at the same time he has an ''extremely'' screwed up life but ''also'' at the same is he managed to grow up into a sane, rational human being and act like TheAce.
* AngstWhatAngst: He doesn't seem to be bothered by his rather...well, lets call it complicated birth.
* AnimalMotifs: The crow.
* BreakTheCutie: His life, to put it quite simply, has ''sucked'' up until now. To put into perspective: [[spoiler:He and his Sasuke, who was his twin brother, were Minato and Mikoto's sons, born from an extramarital affair, a fact that the rest of the Uchiha clan knew about and resented him for. Kushina finding out about this affair led to her releasing the nine-tails on Konoha, and Minato died in the attack. However, Jiraiya managed to seal it inside of him. However, now that Karasu had the nine-tails sealed inside of him, The village distrusted the Uchiha even ''more'' than they did in canon, which only intensified their hatred for him and his brother. In fact, the only people in the entire village who seemingly cared about the two of them were Itachi, Mikoto, and (surprisingly enough) Fugaku, who understood that they weren't responsible for the circumstances of their birth, and treated them like his own sons. While Karasu retreated behind a veneer of idiocy, like canon Naruto, Sasuke instead grew more and more insane, which ended with him killing his clan, gaining the mangekyou, and then murdering Itachi in front of Karasu in a surprise attack. Luckily, Karasu managed to fight him off and defeat him, since Sasuke hadn't mastered the Mangekyo yet, and couldn't use it effectively due to his young age. Afterwards, completely disillusioned, Karasu left Konoha and began WalkingTheEarth for a while, finally finding acceptance amongst Iwa's foreign legion, and got into a relationship with Kurotsuchi. And then, the Naruto who ended up as Orochimaru's apprentice appeared in his world, murdered his girlfriend, and captured him, managing to steal one of his eyes in the process.]] It's truly incredible that he's as well-adjusted as he is right now.
* CainAndAbel: With his version of Sasuke. Karasu is obviously the Abel.
* CoolBigBro: Acts as one to Naruko and Kitsune.

Madara and Hashirama at least had the excuse of thinking that it was just a wild animal, but Kushina goes the extra mile though, being a dick to it for no other reason than it existing. * EmotionEater: The reason why it's so much stronger than the other Kyuubi is because it absorbed all of the negative emotions its Jinchuuriki generated and directed towards it.

No wonder it's such a {{Jerkass}}.

One helped assassinate her because she got married and another killed her husband because he helped assassinate her. But she is also in love with Kazama. Maybe she just has a Uzumaki fetish, or maybe Kushina is her personal Uchiha obssession?]]
** It has become much less ambiguous given how she couldn't help but...'admire' Yugito's voluptuous form [[ItMakesSenseInContext who after getting her clothes burned off]] had to wear clothes too small for her.
** Her latest hobby is now groping Yugito's butt.

* FauxAffablyEvil: The Sanbi, unlike its Jinchuuriki, is able to put up a mask of politeness and civility to hide how much of a monster it is.

Mainly because he is the only person who will never even ''think'' of betraying her. This overlaps with [[TragicVillain Five]] being a LoveMartyr.

* TheDreaded: Even his own men are afraid of him. Though given that he's in charge of the {{Unperson}} punishment and randomly kills people -- including his own men -- when AxeCrazy, it's pretty much justified.
* DangerouslyGenreSavvy: [[TragicVillain Five]] is ridiculously GenreSavvy. He knows how an Orwellian dystopia works perfectly. This also extends to combat, he knows that he's fighting a bunch of bleeding hearts and manipulates them and almost kills someone much stronger than he is (Kuebiko) because of it.

Five knows Alpha doesn't really care about him but serves her faithfully.

* CynicismCatalyst: Kushina's death completely changed him.

While the world ''is'' a better place, it is through the choices of other people, not Minato being alive, him living was just a side effect. First, Sarutobi sacrificed himself to let Minato live, Danzo decided not to indulge in StupidEvil, Zabuza truimphed over Yagura, and [[spoiler: Mikoto deciding not to be a petty [[TheStarscream Starscream]]]], that led to a better world. Basically, the sacrifice of others led to a better world, not Minato being alive.
** Though then again, it ''is'' primarily because of Minato that Madara died so early in the history of the Alive!Yondaime world. The point of the {{deconstruction}} is not that Minato barely helped make the world a better place. The point was that it was not Minato ''alone'' who saved the world. Everyone else contributed just as much as he did.
* {{Expy}}: If the Ame-verse Minato acts like [[FateStayNight Shirou]], then Alive!Yondaime is basically a somewhat more idealistic [[FateStayNight Archer]] or [[FateZero Kiritsugu]].

These traumas have made him imperfect and it horrifies him. But unlike his son he views this trope more positively.
* {{Irony}}: Ame!Minato thinks revenge is pointless and empty due to him having never had a bad thing happen to him in his life. Although he didn't let it consume him, this Minato's main motivation in life after Kushina's death ''was'' revenge.
** But at the same time, Alive!Yondaime Minato seems to still believe that revenge is pointless, even after he got his. He just also acknowledges that it's not as easy to let go of as he thought.
* KnightInSourArmor: Minato is secretly this. He puts up a good facade of being a KnightInShiningArmor and TheAce but he is actually rather cynical and unsure of himself, but still constantly tries to do the right thing and puts up his [[TheAce Ace]] facade to help keep the peace.
* TheLeader: A strong Type IV. He leads through his incredible charisma, and is the most feared and skilled ninja in all of Konoha.
* LonelyAtTheTop: He's the best at everything and boy is it a hollow experience.
* MiseryBuildsCharacter: It's the reason why he's a three dimensional character and not a boring twit.
* MyGreatestFailure: Kushina's death, of course.
* NotGoodWithPeople: While he can act like the perfect NiceGuy he finds it extremely hard to form actual bonds with people on a personal level including his own student and son. He's pretty much had a grand total of ''two'' relationships of actual meaning.
* {{Pride}}: Minato is very prideful, he's the best at everything and he knows it and his {{Pride}} causes him to take personal failure very badly leading him to enter a self-destructive lifestyle if he manages to live past his ManChild phase.
