[[quoteright:225:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/274325.jpg]]
->Voiced by: [[Creator/MaoIchimichi M.A.O.]] (Japanese), Creator/BrinaPalencia (English)

A former [[TheMafiya Mafiya]] assassin and BloodKnight that fled to Ikebukuro, taking a truck filled with guns along with her.
----
* ActionGirl: Vorona, upon first meeting Shizuo, immediately decided she had to fight him -- so she stabbed him with a knife and shot him with a rifle. Shizuo threw her own motorcycle at her simply because her stabbing him reminded him of Izaya.
* AdaptationDyeJob: She is described as having blue eyes in the novel. In the anime they're closer to purple eyes.
* ArchnemesisDad: Vorona and her father never did get along very well, but after stealing a truckload of illegal weapons from him, [[IHaveNoSon their relationship has turned ugly]].
-->'''Vorona:''' I fled. Parental ties, already severed. Next meeting, one of us will die. Pity, pity.
* AxCrazy: She's perpertually in a state of bloodlust.
* BadassBookworm: She is a trained assassin but she also possesses an extensive knowledge and her favorite activity happens to be reading books.
* BecomingTheMask: Seems to be heading in this direction when [[spoiler: she actually intends to break Shizuo out of jail before bumping into Izaya and attacking him. Likewise, despite her initial goal of killing Shizuo, she later saves him from one of Izaya's traps instead and attempts to kill Izaya so Shizuo won't have to.]]
* BloodKnight: As a defense mechanism, Vorona is obsessed with killing strong people in order to prove her own strength, and to confirm human fragility by seeing how easy it is to take their lives. It's the reason she becomes Shizuo's kohai.
* BreakTheHaughty: Her disgraceful loss to Akabayashi causes this. Prior to that, she was confident enough in her combat abilities to challenge insanely strong opponents, and then attempt to kill them to test human fragility. She wises up a little afterward.
* BrokenAce: Often described as being incredibly beautiful and excelling at everything she does. Her only major flaw is her obsessive impulse to destroy strong people.
--> '''Drakon:''' Vorona... has more loveliness, more intellect, and more knowledge at her disposal than anyone else in this place... at the same time, though, she's also an unstoppable and incorrigible fighting addict.
* ButNowIMustGo: [[spoiler:Returns home at the end of Ketsu.]]
* ClingyJealousGirl: Shows signs of this. She definitely wasn't too happy when Orihara twins hanged themselves onto Shizuo's arms. Then there's her rivalry with Akane, which despite the two butting heads over [[ItMakesSenseInContext who gets to kill Shizuo]], it can be suspiciously seen as a [[LoveTriangle love triangle]] to the outside viewer.
* CreepyMonotone: Most of the time. Only when something completely unexpected [[NotSoStoic surprises her]], like seeing a girl draw a sword from within her body or a man throw a car at her, does she actually break her usual tone of voice.
* CuteBookworm: She's beautiful and smart.
* DangerousDeserter: Not helped by the fact that she has a natural inclination towards AxCrazy.
* DarkActionGirl: A very skilled fighter, who nonetheless takes ''too'' much pleasure in causing death and destruction.
* EncyclopaedicKnowledge: She sounds like a human Website/{{Wikipedia}} when she's not itching to destroy something.
* FreakyIsCool: She reacts with sheer delight at the prospect of fighting monsters like Celty, Anri, and Shizuo in Ikebukuro.
%%* GracefulLoser
* GorgeousGaijin: She's a tall, busty, [[PhenotypeStereotype blonde-haired Russian girl]] and has a tendency to [[NavelDeepNeckline keep her biker suit unzipped]].
* GutFeeling: She instinctively identifies Saika and Celty as monsters, but Shizuo as human (despite his monstrous strength). She even somehow senses that getting cut by Saika would do something very bad.
* HarmfulToMinors: When she killed a robber at the young age of ten. The experience left her slightly traumatized, and [[FreudianExcuse resulted in her searching for more opponents]] in order to continue testing the fragility of human mortality.
%%* IcyBlueEyes
* InLoveWithYourCarnage: Her reaction when first encountering Shizuo could be described as, er, [[SexIsViolence rather orgasmic]].
* IntelligenceEqualsIsolation: Spent her childhood alone because of her father's infamy, which had caused other children to avoid her. Not that she minded though, since she preferred reading textbooks over socializing.
* MadScientistsBeautifulDaughter: A mafioso variant.
* MeaningfulName: Her code name means 'crow' in Russian. [[note]]As in like a crow - intelligent, but for some reason loves rotten meat (metaphorically speaking).[[/note]]
* MistakenForRomance: Some street thugs think she's Shizuo's girlfriend (and Akane her daughter), and try to kidnap her. [[MuggingTheMonster That doesn't go well for them]].
* NavelDeepNeckline: For some reason, [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/0803f5520df7676030d36fe498ea89d4_2235.jpg she always keeps her biker suit unzipped nearly all the way down to her navel]]. This only applies to the novel though. Most of the time, the anime has her biker suit completely zipped up.
%%* OddCouple: With [[CloudCuckooLander Slon]].
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Not even her father calls her by her real name.
* PetTheDog: Her loud protests when she was told that Awakusu-kai were going to kill Slon show that she isn't completely heartless.
* PsychoForHire: She works as an assassin because she loves the excitement of killing people.
* PsychopathicWomanchild: Lingerin remarks that while Vorona is physically mature, she is still a child mentally.
* RazorFloss: She uses steel threads to [[OffWithHisHead behead people]] in an ambush, although it doesn't quite work when she tries it on [[HeadlessHorseman someone who's already missing one]].
* ShipTease: [[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/durarara/images/7/75/Bebop_p078_Shizuo_and_Vorona.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20190108123217 With Shizuo.]]
* SparingThemTheDirtyWork: Vorona tries to kill [[spoiler:Izaya]] in Shizuo's stead, because she won't let [[spoiler:Izaya]] turn Shizuo into a murderer like herself.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Vorona or Varona?
* SpockSpeak: Her intonation of the Japanese language is flawless, but her word choice and syntax can get really weird. Averted in Russian though, which she speaks normally.
* TheStoic: Is usually deadpan, [[NotSoStoic but not always,]] since she gets really excited when she's about to fight a strong opponent.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: As mentioned earlier, Vorona's unzipped uniform is utterly impractical for riding a motorcycle, and is probably meant as pure {{Fanservice}}.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: She's cold towards most people. Her softer side is reserved mostly for her partner Slon and Shizuo.
* SweetTooth: Confessed herself as one after her answer to Shizuo's question about Siberia [[WikiWalk somehow turned into a monologue about various sorts of cakes]].
* TooDumbToLive: Of the "would have died if not for circumstances beyond their control" variant. Kidnaps a YakuzaPrincess and is ambushed by the Awakusu. It's stated outright the only reason they didn't shoot her then and there or torture her to death was her father offered the Awakusu a deal on arms shipments.
* {{Tykebomb}}: After she killed her first man [[TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior at age 10]], her father had [[spoiler:Simon]] train her to become a killing machine.
* XMarksTheHero: She's not a hero, but she's got some sort of cross-like scar on her... [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/durara_923.jpg well, see for yourself.]]
* UnresolvedSexualTension: She's obviously in love with Shizuo, but she hides her lack of understanding in love by saying that she wants to fight him because that's how she thinks love is.
* WellDoneDaughterGirl: Subverted. The first time her father showed any sort of outward affection for her was after she killed a burglar that broke into their house. She didn't realize it was because he was relieved that she was unharmed from the attack, so she used it to rationalize and justify her inherent murderous impulses. By the time she figured out the truth, she simply didn't care.
-->'''Vorona:''' Why do I keep doing this even though I know Father will not praise me? Not because I want to be loved. It's very simple. The happiness. The delight. The pleasure. The bliss. The ecstasy.
* WhatIsThisThingYouCallLove: Vorona has never loved a single human being, not even herself. The closest thing to 'love' she's ever felt is the love of [[BloodKnight facing a worthy opponent and then killing them]].

[[folder:Slon]]
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/2a76209b98ab207f69dc1c5f6a0095f9.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Creator/SatoshiMikami (Japanese), Creator/RichardEpcar (English)

Vorona's longtime partner in crime. He ran away with her to Japan, where they were temporarily hired as mercenaries in Ikebukuro for Izaya and Yadogiri Jinnai. He is an enormous man with tremendous strength, although he isn't very intelligent.
----
* TheBigGuy: He pretty much towers Vorona.
* BoisterousBruiser: Gigantic, brutish and an absolute oaf. Unlike most examples, his boisterous side is more in his quirks outside of combat, like having a meltdown wondering about the purpose of male nipples. When it comes to his work, he's surprisingly competent and professional.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: [[spoiler:He gets brainwashed by Saika under Kasane.]]
* CloudCuckooLander: He has a strange thought process, which leads him to sometimes question mundane things.
* ConstantlyCurious: Slon is just full of stupid, irrelevant questions.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Slon may be an idiot, but [[spoiler:when Slon's hired to kill some men among the {{Yakuza}}'s ranks, the end result is grisly enough that ''Shizuo'' nearly vomits at the sight of it -- and promptly gets blamed for murders himself.]]
* DumbMuscle: Slon makes for his dimwitted demeanor for his impressive strength.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Slon doesn't like the idea of targeting innocent bystanders. [[spoiler:Especially if it's Anri and Akane.]]
-->'''Slon''': This is sad day. Asking us to torment young girl like this. Is more like job for random thug from street corner.
* HiddenDepths: He can speak perfectly fluent Japanese, despite his idiocy. Even Vorona is surprised.
* HuskyRusskie: He's nearly comparable to Simon by his large size.
* {{Kneecapping}}: [[spoiler:Gets shot in the knees by the Awakusu for his part in kidnapping Akane.]]
* LargeHam: His theatrics when he's obsessing over mundane trivia and mysteries know are absolutely excessive. And it's no act- [[CloudCuckooLander he's just that weird]].
* MeaningfulName: Slon means "elephant" in Russian.
* TheMole: [[spoiler:Possibly for Izaya. According to Mika, he has closer ties to him than he does to Vorona.]]
* MoralityPet: To Vorona who seems to care for him to a certain degree.
* MundaneMadeAwesome: "I'm not moving an inch until I've solved the mystery of the male nipples! This is my war!!"
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: [[spoiler: As punishment for kidnapping Akane, the Awakusu-kai kneecap him. That's just for starters. The next time we see him, he's heavily bandaged and leaning on crutches, and pulls out his dentures to show his jagged, shattered teeth. He admits he could have gotten a lot worse, all things considered, and overall is surprisingly non-chalant about the whole thing.]]
* NonstandardCharacterDesign: His appearance is noticeably more cartoony than the other characters'.
* NotListeningToMeAreYou: "Am I... being ignored?"
* OddCouple: With Vorona.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: He's only known by his codename, while his birth name is unknown.
* PsychoForHire: More like a cloudcuckoolander for hire but still.
* PunchClockVillain: He may be a killer, but he isn't particularly sadistic or malicious. He even expresses some genuine shame for some of the shadier aspects of his assignments. He comes across more as a ComedicSociopath than a true monster, though that's hardly unique for the series.
* SeriousBusiness: Every. Single. Question. He. Asks.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Slon or Sloan?
* UnusualEyebrows: Of the fiery kind.

[[folder:Ruri Hijiribe]]
[[quoteright:200:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/81847_1473.jpg]]
-> Voiced by: Creator/SakiFujita (JP), Creator/CristinaValenzuela (EN)

A popular idol singer who lives a double life as the serial killer "Hollywood".
----
* AxCrazy: As Hollywood, she is known for leaving her victim's bodies in a near unrecognizable state, the only parts that remain untouched are usually the head and the limbs although usually the faces are mutilated as well.
* BirdsOfAFeather: With Yuhei. They're both emotionally distant idols who sync together perfectly.
* ButNotTooForeign: Celty suspects she might have some Nordic blood in her. There's also the fact that she's a {{Dhampyr}}, and since Celty says vampires aren't native to Japan...
* DarkActionGirl: Initially, as she uses her superhuman abilities to carry out a murder spree as Hollywood. Drops the dark later when she helps Celty fight some thugs. [[spoiler: And even later, her murder spree turns out to be somewhat justified.]]
* DarkAndTroubledPast: [[spoiler:Ruri's family went bankrupt due to bad investments and many of them killed themselves over it. She became a makeup artist out of her love for monster movies, but eventually became a Magazine Idol, then a singer/actress after she gained enough publicity. However, her boss, Yodogiri Jinnai, began using her for various occult rituals that several of the other employees were a part of. These rituals involved slowly drawing blood from her body. Due to threats against her father's life Ruri endured it, but five years later Ruri learned in an attempt to recover her, they'd already killed him two years prior. Not long after, she ran off and began killing all of those responsible for hurting her, becoming the serial killer Hollywood.]]
* {{Dhampyr}}: Ruri is part vampire. She possesses vampire strengths and weaknesses in a diluted form.
* EarlyBirdCameo: In the anime, she shows up briefly in Episode 6, but isn't properly introduced until early in the second season.
* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette: She's a SerialKiller and {{Dhampyr}} with black hair and pale skin.
* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: Celty admits that even she occasionally gets [[StupidSexyFlanders distracted]] by her sometimes.
* HealingFactor: She has healing abilities that allow her to survive an attack from Shizuo.
* HeroWorshipper: She shows admiration towards Celty after being transported back to her apartment. It's enough for her to show up in knight armor to help Celty in a jam.
* IdolSinger: She's a popular celebrity and idol.
* KindheartedCatLover: She has a soft spot for Yuhei's pet cat Dokusonmaru.
* LivingADoubleLife: Not many know that besides being a famous idol singer, she is actually the serial killer Hollywood.
* NightmareFetishist: Has a fascination with Hollywood movie monsters and the concept of monsterdom. It's what inspires her serial killer MO.
* RomanticFakeRealTurn: Her couple act with Yuhei was initially meant to be a temporary ruse, but they develop genuine feelings for each other later on.
* SerialKiller: She's the dreaded serial killer "Hollywood".
* ShamSupernatural: Played with. The serial killer Hollywood is well-known for dressing as monsters while out killing, though everyone is well aware Hollywood is just wearing costumes. However, Ruri is really a quarter vampire, making Hollywood a monster posing as a human posing as other monsters.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: Her first episodes depict her as being icy and stoic. Later appearances show her softer side in regards to Yuhei and Dokusonmaru and others.
* SuperStrength: She has superhuman strength. As Hollywood, she brutally beats her victims to death with her bare hands, and at one point she is seen in her room casually spinning a large dumbbell around on her fingertips.
* SympatheticMurderer: For an infamous SerialKiller, Ruri is quite the sympathetic character, especially given the way she comes to deeply care about her boyfriend Yuhei and his cat Dokusonmaru.
* WeaksauceWeakness: Ruri's only 1/4 vampire, but nonetheless carries the traditional vampire weaknesses of direct sunlight and garlic in a diluted form.
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: [[spoiler:The occults rituals her boss subjected her to caused her to become the serial killer Hollywood and go after those responsible for hurting her]].

[[folder:Chikage Rokujo]]
[[quoteright:225:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/278446.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Creator/YukiOno (Japanese), Creator/GrantGeorge (English)

Leader of the Toramaru biker gang who comes to Ikebukuro after some members of his gang were allegedly attacked by the Dollars and involved innocents in the crossfire. Also a shameless manwhore, and rarely seen without multiple women hanging off of him.
----
* BadassBiker: Leader of a [[UsefulNotes/SubculturesInJapan bosozoku]] gang.
* BandagedFace: Has most of his appearances being wrapped in bandages after a somewhat disastrous encounter with Shizuo.
* BerserkButton: Hurt a girl in any way and he will likely [[GroinAttack kick you in the nuts]].
* TheCasanova: He's always surrounded with girls. Could arrange for a date for ''eight'' ladies at once, and none of them seem to mind, as long as they get to play with him.
* CavalierCompetitor: Very laid-back about fights even in his quest for vengeance.
* ChickMagnet: He is a self-styled ladies man and usually has an entourage of about 10 or so girls following him around.
* ChivalrousPervert: General horniness and complete irreverence for monogamy aside, Chikage is careful to make sure that he (or anyone else, for that matter) doesn't hurt women.
* DefiantToTheEnd: In his fight against Shizuo.
-->'''Shizuo:''' Yeah. When I was about to punch him a fifth time he said "Ah, and I have girls willing to tend to me when I'm in the hospital bed. Are you jealous now?" ...Well, something like that. His tooth broke so I wasn't able to hear very well.
* TheDulcineaEffect: He's chivalrous to any girl he meets, and will try to protect them whenever he cans.
* EthicalSlut: If anybody plans to hurt a woman, he will take it upon himself to beat the bastard to a pulp.
* FearlessFool:
** His very first order of business upon entering Ikebukuro? Picking a fight with Shizuo, hence the bandages.
** Later, he jumps off the roof of a 3-5 story parking garage in an attempt to knock Kida out when the latter has him in a choke-hold. Does it again in order to make a quick get-away with an injured Kida.
* FriendlyEnemy: Despite a grudge over injuring some of Chikage's Toramaru pals (which is why he picked a fight in the first place), both Chikage and Shizuo are both tremendously civil about the affair. He even makes it a point of properly challenging Shizuo to a fight as opposed to attacking him from out of nowhere, something the latter respects. Shizuo even dropped him off at Shinra's after handing him his ass.
-->'''Chikage:''' Hell if that wasn't the most enjoyable fight I've had in ''years''. He was nicer than I expected, too.
** This even extends to his behavior with Kadota, and visits him when the latter lands in a coma.
* GracefulLoser: Not at all annoyed at getting the crap beaten out of him by Shizuo. He thought it was kinda fun, actually.
* HaremSeeker: And a [[SexyManInstantHarem successful one at that]].
* MadeOfIron: Not to Shizuo's levels, but Shizuo himself notes that he was shocked that Chikage took 4 of his punches.
** Survives an estimated 5 story fall during his duel with Kida Masaomi and comes off no worse for wear.
* NiceGuy: While a bit of a playboy, he has an honorable attitude and is respectful towards women. [[BewareTheNiceOnes Just don't get on his bad side]].
* NobleDemon: A ruthless leader of a biker gang, but a reasonable chap who respects women and his enemies.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Delivers several to Mikado and Masaomi over their conflict. Respectively, he states that Mikado would do well to pursue a normal life (which is what sends him over the edge) while telling Masaomi that if he had returned sooner to Ikebukuro the whole ordeal could have been avoided.
* SexyManInstantHarem: Is rarely seen without his many girlfriends.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: [[spoiler:His fate is unknown by the end of the series, being the only one who doesn't show in the epilogue. At the very least, he walked out just fine after the dust settled.]]
* WifeBasherBasher: Do not hurt women in Chikage's presence.
* WouldntHitAGirl: And he does ''not'' take kindly to those that do.

[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/emilia_kishitani.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Creator/AtsumiTanezaki (Japanese), Creator/KarenStrassman (English)

A researcher from Nebula, and Shingen's new wife.
----
* FunnyForeigner: Her Japanese grammar is atrocious, her cooking is terrible, and her messy appearance makes her look pretty ditzy on the outside.
* FunWithForeignLanguages: Emilia's grammar is noted to be the ''worst'' of all the foreigners in the series, thus far, leading to comically inept and downright strange sentence constructions.
* GorgeousGaijin: She has quite a head of blonde hair and a large set of breasts.
* LethalChef: She gets a -20% rating for her cooking!

[[folder:Aoba Kuronuma]]
[[quoteright:225:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/262353.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Creator/HiroShimono (Japanese), Creator/KyleMcCarley (English)

An [[OlderThanTheyLook unusually young-looking]] freshman that quickly latches onto Mikado. Also the leader of Blue Square and Mikado's second-in-command.
----
* AdaptationDyeJob: He has black hair in the novels, while the anime gave him blue hair.
* AdaptationalUgliness: Very [[DownplayedTrope downplayed]], but he's described as having rather feminine looks in the light novel, while he looks more obviously like a boy in the anime.
* AdaptationalVillainy: His backstory of being abused by his brother was reduced to a brief mention, making his retaliation seem more petty.
* AnimalMotifs: Sharks. Not only is it his favorite animal, but he often refers the Blue Squares as a group of sharks. Doesn't help that the group is forced to wear a shark hat.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Aoba initially appears very cheerful, outgoing, and friendly. However, it is quickly revealed that Aoba is actually very devious, manipulative, and ambitious.
* CainAndAbel: With his brother Ran Izumi. Although he can act like the "Cain" most of the time, he really is the "Abel" in the relationship.
* TheChessmaster: Fancies himself this as he wants to use Mikado's Dollars for his personal gain, but he realizes Mikado is far more dangerous than he assumed.
* CuteAndPsycho: He's a boy with childish looks almost to feminine levels, but he's also incredibly manipulative and has a rather disturbing attachment to Mikado's more ruthless side.
* CreepyChild: From what we see of his childhood, he definitely counts. Just ask his brother...
* DisproportionateRetribution: Regardless of what Izumii did to him, nearly burning down the house just to get him in trouble seems like a massive overreaction.
* TheDogBitesBack: [[spoiler:In his childhood, he was regularly assaulted by his brother. Eventually something made him snap and burn his brother's room down. He then fakes innocence and throws his brother in jail.]]
* TheDragon: Appoints Mikado as the leader of the Blue Squares, where he serves as the gang's NumberTwo who makes sure the rest of the group obeys Mikado's orders.
* DudeLooksLikeALady: Mikado claims that if he were to dress up in a girl's uniform, no one would find out he was a male unless he spoke. Of course, this has to do with his childish looks.
* {{Expy}}: Basically a teenage version of [[Literature/{{Baccano}} Czeslaw]] [[DeliberatelyCuteChild Meyer]].
* FreudianExcuse: His brother constantly beating him as a kid messed him up psychologically that he became the ManipulativeBastard he is today.
* {{GIRL}}: It's hinted that he is the new "female" member of the chatroom, "Pure Water 100%".
* HairColorDissonance: He has black hair but many people draw him with blue hair instead.
* InLoveWithYourCarnage: His interests/opinion in Mikado increase after [[spoiler:Mikado stabs him with the pen]]. It doesn't help that he admitted to Izaya that he was a masochist and that he was looking for his special someone to be his sadist in the relationship.
* TheManBehindTheMan: The real leader of the Blue Squares.
* ManipulativeBastard: He's described as a younger version of Izaya by Shinra.
* OhCrap: During the finale, he is met by Mizuki, who proceeds to threaten Aoba from ever trying to play delinquent with Mikado unless he wants to Awakusu to torment him.
* OlderThanHeLooks: Aoba's described as looking like a middle (or even ''elementary'') school student.
* SheIsNotMyGirlfriend: When members of Blue Squares refer to Mairu and Kururi as such.
* ShipTease: The kiss with Izaya's sisters of all people.
* SmugSnake: There's something about his smile that seems condescending.
* TheStarscream: [[spoiler:He's plotting on overthrowing Mikado and taking control of the Dollars.]]
** BecomingTheMask:[[spoiler: he ultimately abandons this goal once he becomes too attached to Mikado]]
* StepfordSmiler: Behind his cheerful smile there's a devious mastermind.
* StrawNihilist: Unlike Izaya, he hates humans with a passion. From what his brother did to him, it's kind of given why he hates humans.
* SurroundedByIdiots: Is generally not impressed by the intelligence of his fellow Blue Square members.
-->'''Neko:''' It's bad, ''real'' bad, Aoba! They got all [[DefeatMeansFriendship buddy-buddy after that huge brawl of theirs]], and when these weird guys came with some hostages, they got crazy, and then there was this flash of light and then a ''huge'' fireball! And then there was this high school girl with huge boobs! I mean, like, ''really'' huge! I...
-->'''Aoba:''' ''(hangs up)'' It sure was stupid of me to send Neko there to scope out the situation.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Aoba has a huge fear of fire. [[spoiler:However, this works to his advantage as he's able to frame his brother for arson by using this fear.]]

[[folder:Akane Awakusu]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/akane_awakusu_drrrx2shou_anime_1.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Creator/MisakiKuno (Japanese), Creator/BriannaKnickerbocker (English)

The ten-year old daughter of Mikiya and granddaughter of Dogen, who is the current head of the [[{{Yakuza}} Awakusu-kai]]. After learning on the Internet that her family is running a criminal organization, she became heartbroken and ran away from home. She soon met Izaya, who tricked her into thinking Shizuo was an enemy, causing her to try and kill him with a modified stun gun. Afterward, when Shizuo rescued her from kidnappers, she realized he wasn't a bad person and befriended him.
----
* AlliterativeName: '''A'''kane '''A'''wakusu.
* AmbiguousInnocence: The narration implies pretty strongly that Akane didn't really understand what it meant to kill someone when she went after Shizuo (never mind that she had been sent after an innocent man).
* CreepyChild: A mild example. For the daughter of a {{Yakuza}} family, she really is a sweet girl. However, she has no qualms about trying to kill a supposed hitman who is after her family, all with a smile on her face.
* DamselInDistress: Is a frequent target of kidnapping due to the gang conflict her family is involved in.
* DeliberatelyCuteChild: She used her cute, innocent appearance as a guise to get near Shizuo and zap him with her stun gun.
* ForHappiness: She wanted everyone in her life to be happy. However, after finding out her father is the head of a {{Yakuza}} organization, she realize that everyone around her weren't truly happy and the happiness around her was a facade created by her parents.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Tiny Girl to Shizuo's Huge Guy. Justified, considering their respective ages.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: With Shizuo and Akabayashi.
* IsThatCuteKidYours: Some street thugs think that she is Vorona's daughter (and that Vorona is Shizuo's girlfriend). While Shizuo does treat Akane like a daughter or a little sister, Vorona barely pays any attention to her at all.
* MoralityPet: She's one of the few people who can reign Shizuo's temper (because Shizuo doesn't want to scare the kid and tries his best to not show his rage in front of her).
* NiceGirl: A sweet, kind-hearted girl at heart, she's able to make friends with people easily, including Shizuo.
* TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou: A mild version, but Akane wants to beat Shizuo and is currently attending the same gym as Mairu in order to learn how to fight properly. This is also the reason why she has a rivalry with Vorona.
* PrecociousCrush: She develops a crush on Shizuo, who's twice her age.
* TheRival: To Vorona. They're both vying over Shizuo for different reasons (i.e. either to kill or defeat him).
* TheRunaway: After discovering her father is in the {{Yakuza}}.
* ShrinkingViolet: She's not good with strangers. She'll open up if you're nice enough, though.
* TechnicallyASmile: As Shizuo notices just before she tries to kill him.
-->''He couldn't help but notice the way this kid was smiling. It was innocent alright, but there was also something that reminded one of a kid stomping on ants for fun...''
* TokenMiniMoe: The only prepubescent in the entire cast, consisting of teenagers, adults, and one immortal.
* TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior: The first thing she says to Shizuo is "Die!" and then she tries to electrocute him while smiling sweetly.
* UnwittingPawn: Another victim of Izaya's manipulation.
* YakuzaPrincess: The granddaughter of the current head of the infamous {{Yakuza}} group Awakusu-kai. She wasn't too happy to discover what her family's "business" was about.
* YamatoNadeshiko: Her demure, obedient personality contrasts with the strength of will to defy her {{Yakuza}} dad and live on her own. What's more: someone like her attacking someone like Shizuo either has tremendous guts or a death wish and she definitely isn't the latter.

[[folder:Mizuki Akabayashi]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/akabayashi008.jpg]]
->Voiced by: Creator/KappeiYamaguchi (Japanese), Creator/MatthewMercer (English)

A high-ranking executive of the Awakusu-kai. Akabayashi is easily recognizable by his gaudy sense of fashion and the large scar running through his right eye. He is known as the Red Demon of the Awakusu and has ties to Anri.
----
* BadassNormal: Considered a superb street fighter and was able to knock out Vorona without breaking a sweat. [[spoiler:On top of that, he is the only other human being, besides Shizuo, who was able to resist becoming one of Saika's children, and even gouged out his own eye.]]
* BrokenAce: A strong, cunning executive with a hatred for drugs [[spoiler:and his life forever changed after a meeting with Saika]].
* CaneFu: Carries around an ornamented cane for this purpose, since he doesn't need it for walking.
* CoolOldGuy: Described as somewhere in his thirties to forties, but he is still one helluva good fighter.
* CoolShades: Is usually seen wearing a pair. Helps that it covers his [[spoiler:lost eye.]]
* DefectorFromDecadence: [[spoiler:After discovering his former boss was behind the drug-induced insanity of Sayaka's husband, which eventually led to her suicide, Akabayashi abandoned his duties as a bodyguard and let his boss get killed by a hit man. He then joined the Awakusu organization to watch over Anri Sonohara.]]
* EveryoneHasStandards: Although he's involved with a criminal organization, he's not only chivalrous but hates drug dealing and prostitution.
* EyeScream: [[spoiler:When Sayaka slashed him in the eye with Saika, he plucked it out before the sword could possess him.]]
* FriendToAllChildren: He is fond of kids, and gets along pretty well with them.
* GeniusBruiser: He's almost as tall as [[TheBrute Aozaki]] is, but also intelligent and tech-savvy.
* GlassEye: After [[EyeScream losing his right eye]], he replaces it with this.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: Has a scar over his right eye.
* HandicappedBadass: He lost an eye, but is still in top-notch fighting form.
* {{Hypocrite}}: A self-admitted one, too.
* InLoveWithYourCarnage: He fell in love with [[spoiler:Sayaka, after she had pierced his right eyeball with her katana,]] because he was impressed by her swordsmanship.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: With Anri, who feels like a younger sister to him. Akane counts as well.
* LastNameBasis: Novels only. The official website for Durarara!! x2 has revealed that his first name is [[http://www.durarara2usa.com/character/ 'Mizuki']].
* ManChild: Subverted. His online handle is Gaki (which means brat), and he sometimes uses "Oi-chan" to talk about himself, but this isn't his true behavior, and it's all part of a [[ObfuscatingStupidity disarming act]].
* MeaningfulName: Part of his last name means red, which inspired his RedBaron title.
* MistakenForPedophile: Since he has no wife or girlfriend at his age, and because he is so good with kids, he gets labeled as one, though he denies it.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: Often acts like he doesn't have a care in the world. Subverted because other members of the Awakusu-kai, like Shiki, distrust him for this very reason, and think he's hiding his true motives behind the facade.
* ParentalSubstitute: For Anri, perhaps. After she became an orphan, he helped her sell the antiques in her parent's store to provide for her until she reaches eighteen.
* PerpetualSmiler: Nearly always seen with a smile on his face, even as he is [[DissonantSerenity calmly beating up another man]]. Overlaps with CheshireCatGrin sometimes.
* RedBaron: Nicknamed Awakusu's Red Demon.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Akabayashi is usually portrayed with scarlet irises ([[CurtainsMatchTheWindow to match the hair]]) in fan works. His canon eye color hasn't been confirmed yet.
* RedOniBlueOni: The Red Demon to Aozaki's Blue Demon.
* StepfordSmiler: It's heavily implied that he's a Type A.
* SunglassesAtNight: He wears colorful, expensive-looking sunglasses nearly all the time.
* TookALevelInKindness: He was a violent man in the past, but after [[spoiler:he met the Slasher (who was Anri's mom at the time)]] and went through a series of experiences, he calmed down and became relatively gentler.
* WouldntHitAGirl: Played straight when he fought Vorona. While he defeats her effortlessly, he doesn't actually hurt her, which makes her loss even more crushing.
* {{Yakuza}}: Part of the Awakusu-kai.

Another executive of the Awakusu-kai, he is known as the Blue Demon of the organization. Not much else is known about him, except that he has a rivalry with Akabayashi and is really big.
----

* BadassInANiceSuit: The suit he wears is apparently tailored to his height, and makes him look even more formidable.
* BadLiar: Denies tipping Akabayashi off about the plot against his life, even though Aozaki was the ''only'' other person who knew about it in the first place (the first being Dogen Awakusu). Naturally, he doesn't fool anybody.
-->'''Dogen:''' I mean, I think somebody told him he was being targeted. If not, I don't think he would have been able to plan ahead so well.
-->'''Aozaki:''' ...I dunno who it could have been, [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial but I'm sure they just told him some things, and didn't physically help him.]]
-->'''Dogen:''' Ahh. I didn't think you were that good at jokes, Aozaki.
* TheBrute: Aozaki is described as quite tall at 190cm, and looks pretty intimidating thanks to his broad shoulders and immense build. Naturally, this gives him an advantage while fighting.
* BuffySpeak: Occasionally lapses into this.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: Has a large scar across his left eye.
* KarmaHoudini: [[spoiler: Suffers no real repercussions for his villainous actions during the final arc-- Most notably, his attempt to bury Mikado and turn the Dollars into a source of revenue for the Awakusu-kai.]]
* LastNameBasis: Novels only. The official website for Durarara!! x2 has revealed that his first name is [[http://www.durarara2usa.com/character/ 'Shu']].
* MeaningfulName: Part of his last name means blue, which inspired his RedBaron title.
* NewMediaAreEvil: Has a low opinion on new technology in general, unlike tech-savvy Akabayashi, meaning he makes no effort to keep himself updated.
* TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou: Has shades of this towards Akabayashi (though he denies it).
* RedBaron: Nicknamed Awakusu's Blue Demon.
* RedOniBlueOni: The Blue Demon to Akabayashi's Red Demon.
* TheRival: Dislikes Akayabashi, and holds a longstanding rivalry with him.
* TemporalThemeNaming: His first name contains the character for 'winter,' while Shiki [[note]]More specifically his first name, ''Haruya''[[/note]] and Akabayashi's names allude to 'spring' and 'autumn' respectively.

"The Philosophical Killing Machine" and the 7th most feared assassin in Russia. He was hired by Shingen to capture the serial killer known as Hollywood. Ends up badly beaten by Shizuo after he uses his suitcase as one of his improvised weapons, necessitating facial reconstruction. He afterwards serves as one of Shingen's affiliates for the remainder of the series.
----
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: He may be a badass and a dangerous assassin but he still is outclassed by [[WorldsStrongestMan Shizuo]].
* BandagedFace: He was punched by Shizuo so hard that he had to undergone some facial surgery.
* BigDamnHeroes:
** Thanks to the influence of Anri's Saika, he saves Celty from traffic cops.
** [[spoiler:Pulls one again with Shingen and Eijiro to save Namie after she's kidnapped.]]

* ImprovisedWeapon: He is known to never bring his own killing weapon. He uses whatever he can find from rolling pins, ice cubes, and suitcases to a bank note.
* IOweYouMyLife: He feels this way towards Orihara Twins who helped him when he was badly injured after his fight with Shizuo.
* MuggingTheMonster: Taking ''anything'' from Shizuo is never a good idea.
* NonstandardCharacterDesign: He looks noticeably more retro than the rest of the cast. {{Subverted|Trope}} after he receives facial reconstruction, making him appear more traditionally drawn.

The leader of the weapon dealing organization that Vorona and Slon used to be part of. Gets along well with Drakon, Vorona's father, despite suffering frequent insults of his intelligence.
----
* BrainsAndBrawn: The brawn to Drakon's brains.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: When first shown, his hands are stuck inside jars, due to holding onto the pistols inside. He seems utterly baffled as to how to get them out. But when the previously mentioned illegal immigrants rudely interrupt his conversation with Drakon, he apparently beats them to death with his feet and jarred hands (in the anime, he simply shoots him, breaking the jar; the enemies here are also changed to rival gangsters instead of illegal immigrants).
* DumbMuscle: See above. He only gets the jars off when an enemy that was pretending to be dead attacks him, and he fires the pistol in the jar on instinct, killing the immigrant and breaking the jar. He was about to shoot the jar off his other hand before Drakon pointed out the detail that his hand was still in it.

* EvilerThanThou: [[spoiler:If Shingen is to be believed, Yodogiri is even worse than Izaya.]]
* FauxAffablyEvil: [[spoiler: During his telephone talk with Izaya he remained remarkably polite. Only to stab him a second later.]]
* GreaterScopeVillain: Possibly.
* KnowledgeBroker: He was the one who gave the information about Dullahans to Shingen.
* ManipulativeBastard: Pretty much goes on par with Izaya, up to the point where Izaya once admits he underestimated him [[spoiler:after he was stabbed by him]].
* MasterOfDisguise: [[spoiler:There are many Yodogirl doubles that will take his place when necessary.]]
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: [[spoiler: He gave one to Izaya right after stabbing him with a knife.]]

A calm and quiet woman who works as Yodogiri Jinnai's secretary.
----
* AlliterativeName: '''K'''asane '''K'''ujiragi.
* AnimalEaredHeadband: Buys these for herself.
* BigBad: Turns out she is this in season 2 onward and that she is impersonating Jinnai.
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler:Saves Ruri from being killed by her stalker in atonement for her actions.]]
* BunnyEarsLawyer: She's extremely competent at her job, able to [[spoiler:capture Celty after she goes into berserk mode, and can alter the shape of Saika to suit her needs]], yet is also overly fond of cats and buys out all the cat ears in a store.
* CardCarryingVillain: Played with as she has some villainous actions but generally responds to any thanks from helping others with "because I'm a villain". She also accepts that someday, she as a villain will be killed by someone seeking justice and is prolonging it as long as she can.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: [[spoiler:She was sold to the original Jinnai Yodogiri by Ruri's grandmother and groomed by him to run his business. After he died, she continued to run his business in his place using stand ins because she had nothing else.]]
* {{Dhampyr}}: [[spoiler: She's the daughter of Ruri's grandmother, making her this.]]

** [[spoiler:She also feels this way about Celty, envying that a "monster" found love and friends when she didn't. She even tried to steal Shinra for herself, though relented later on.]]
* TheDragon: Hired by Seitarou Yagiri to capture the many monsters from Ikebukuro.
* DragonInChief: Even though she is only following the orders of the actual big bad of Celty's story arc, Seitarou Yagiri, she is way more dangerous, powerful, and threatening than him.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: While she is fine with [[spoiler:Izaya having all the Jinnai Yodogiri replacements killed]] and [[spoiler:attempts to traffick Celty herself]], Kujiragi is [[TranquilFury vexed]] when she witnesses Haruna attack Anri, her 'mother', and punishes her via electrocution for her 'immoral' behavior.
* HiddenDepths: Kujiragi is a cold, calculating [[spoiler:BigBad]] who thoroughly enjoys cosplay and likes cats.
* HiveMind: [[spoiler: Used a shard of Saika to forge her own blade, and was the original owner of Saika for years, most likely since she was as young as Anri was when she first acquired it.]]
* IJustWantToBeFree: [[spoiler: Her desire all along was this, and she feels that Izaya has finally granted her her freedom. So much so she goes out and buys herself cat ears, and then ponders whether or not to go to a cat cafe or butler cafe with her freedom.]]
* InsultBackfire: Combined with ComicallyMissingThePoint, when Haruna angrily refers to her as a 'thieving cat' for [[spoiler:trying to purchase Saika from Anri]], Kujiragi's love of cats prevents her from taking it as an insult.
-->'''Kujiragi:'''"A thieving cat"... I like it.
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: Despite being one of the most powerful characters in the series, when Shizuo shows up she abandons all her plots and walks away without a second glance.
* LegacyCharacter: [[spoiler:Her role as Jinnai Yodogiri was inherited from the original one.]]
* LongLostRelative: [[spoiler:Is actually Ruri's aunt.]]

* NotSoDifferentRemark: From Izaya.
-->[[spoiler:'''Shinichi:''']] If we were to call Orihara Izaya "evil by nature", Kujiragi would be a "miscreant created by people".
* OddFriendship: With Erika. The two enjoy cosplaying together and Erika even helped Kujiragi come up with her cosplay name, School Girl Cat.
* OlderThanSheLooks: Is probably in her 30s, but doesn't look much older than Namie. [[spoiler:This is due to her Dhampyr nature.]]
* ParentalAbandonment: [[spoiler: Was sold to Jinnai Yodogiri by Ruri's grandmother.]]
* PerpetualFrowner: Even when she is happy, she still has that frown on her face.

* TheStoic: Never shows any emotion.
* StoicSpectacles: Wears these while being quiet most of the time.

* WouldHitAGirl: Kicks down Anri and [[spoiler: tries to run over Ruri with a truck]].
* YouKilledMyFather: Strongly subverted. Jinnai Yodogiri assumed he wanted revenge on Ruri for murdering his father, but Kisuke admitted he couldn't care less about his father being dead and was even a bit jealous Ruri was the one who killed him.

The head of the Yagiri Pharmaceuticals, and Seiji and Namie's uncle and caretaker. He got Celty's head from Shingen and felt in love with it. Nebula decide to own his company to get the head but Namie had already taken her to Izaya. For this reason, Seitarou made contact with Jinnai Yodogiri in order to get the head before Nebula, thus kickstarting the events from the second season.
----
* BadBoss: Head of the infamous Yagiri Pharmaceuticals.
* CainAndAbel: Is the Cain to Seiji and Namie's father Abel. Is implied Seitarou made him fail in the Pharmaceuticals business on purpose to gain power and use his niece and nephew as pawns for his company.
* ChekhovsGunman: Was introduced at the very beginning of the series as part of Seiji and Namie's backstory. His official introduction is in the second season as one of the new [[BigBad big bad]].
* CorruptCorporateExecutive: Even though he wanted the head for himself and not in Nebula's hands, the reasons for wanting Ruri, Saika and Celty's body were only "just for business".
* EvilUncle: Had no problem in threatening his niece about torturing his nephew, just to get information of the head.
* FaceDoodling: Recives an ''"I love the head"'' courtesy of Shingen.
* FreakOut: Ended up in catatonic state due to seeing [[spoiler: Celty's true form]]
* FriendlyRivalry: With Shingen, even their respective companies are rivals.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Making his niece and nephew work for him turned out to be a bad idea, since both of them were the cause that he ended up losing his precious Dullahans' head in the first place.
* ALoveToDismember: Just like his nephew.
* NonActionBigBad: Relied mostly of the dirty work on his subordinates and Kujiragi Kasane.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: He is introduced in ''Ten'', halfway through the second season, however many of the conflics involving Yodogiri Jinnai in ''shou'' were caused because of his decision to contact him. The reasons for hiring the Awakusu to kill Ruri and kidnapping Akane were in order to weaken them; [[spoiler: Kujiragi later revealed that the Awakusu are the main problem for her if she wanted to continue her job for Seitarou without being interrupted.]]
* SecondHandStorytelling: Even though the constant [[GambitPileup Gambit Pileup]] between Seitarou and Shingen is never explicit shown, we have been seeing the consequences of it throughout the entire series; the most evidently example is that both of them are the main cause that ''every single monster'' is causing troubles in Ikebukuro.
* SmugSnake: He thinks he's a lot more dangerous than he is. He hires Yodogiri Jinnai to retrieve the various monsters of Ikebukuro, only to underestimate how dangerous they are. He is completely blindsided by Shizuo, is [[KnowWhenToFoldEm left to die by Kasane]], and only survives by sheer luck.

%%* ManipulativeBitch
* NavelDeepNeckline: Her [[LittleBlackDress slinky black gown]] barely leaves enough to the imagination, with a neckline that reaches her torso.
%%* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: "Earthworm" is most likely a code name.
* PsychoForHire: A major case. She takes great pleasure in torturing others and was probably hired because she enjoys it so damn much. The moment when she has someone at her complete mercy is described as a feeling of [[EvilFeelsGood pure bliss, and the only time when she feels truly alive.]]
* PsychopathicWomanchild: She's [[VagueAge somewhere in her twenties]], but sounds like a teenager and acts disturbingly childish while [[ColdBloodedTorture torturing information out of someone]].
* SmugSnake: She thinks she knows everything about Izaya including the incident in middle school where Izaya apparently stabbed Shinra. [[spoiler: She doesn't know what really happened if she thinks this though because Shinra took the knife wound for Izaya.]]
* TortureTechnician: Izaya isn't the first person who's been subjected to her brand of torture -- she's taken apart quite a few people before him, too. She is said to use her imagination to invent all sorts of new ways to make them suffer.
* VillainousBreakdown: [[spoiler: While Izaya spectacularly trolls her.]]

[[quoteright:310:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/maju_kuzuhara.png]]
->Voiced by: Creator/MinamiTakahashi (Japanese), Creator/WendeeLee (English)

A policewoman in Ikebukuro and Kinnosuke Kuzuhara's niece.
----
* AdaptationNameChange: Her name is ''"Shinju Kuzuhara"'' in the novels, but her name is ''"Maju Kuzuhara"'' in the anime.
* XMarksTheHero: Has an X-shaped scar on her left cheek, similar her uncle. It's possible (albeit unlikely) it's a genetic birthmark.

[[folder:Hiroto Shijima]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shijima_ep20.png]]
->Voiced by: Creator/TaishiMurata (Japanese), Creator/MaxMittelman (English)

The second in command of the Heaven's Slave drug cartel. In ''Durarara!! SH'', he's joined up with Earthworm.
----
* ArcVillain: Of the first two ''SH'' novels as [[spoiler:he formed the cult of the Headless Rider and distributed the brainwashing drugs.]]
* AscendedExtra: He becomes a major supporting character in the sequel series. He explicitly states in ''SH'' volume 4 that his intention is to rise beyond his position of extra that he had held in the original series and cause some great upheaval in Ikebukuro.
* BandagedFace: Sports this appearance in ''SH'' and is the first thing everyone notices when they see him.
* BlatantLies: After being informed that the person Earthworm had been torturing was Kumoi, the leader of his group, he realized that [[spoiler:his secret of himself being the actual leader of Heaven Slave would be known by his subordinates]] he claimed he would cut the knot that was tying the captive while aiming his stomach... [[spoiler: Izaya, who was the person who was actually captured, saw his real intentions and stopped him]]
* TheDragon: He is the second in charge of the drug dealing business while Kumoi is the leader. [[spoiler:It is later revealed that Kumoi had stopped being the leader and Shijima kept acting as if nothing happened in order to controlling his subordinates and to not hold any responsibility if something wrong happened to the organization.]]
* LuminescentBlush: Even with a heavily bandaged face, merely bringing up Earthworm's clothing can invoke a blush that can be seen through them.
* NumberTwo: He planned to make his group Heaven Slave a shadows of the Dollars so they can go unnoticed.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: He and Earthworm got introduced and defeated by Izaya in the same volume with no further consequences; however after that, while the latter is only used by Izaya in his schemes against Shizuo, Shijima got a larger role in the story after being hired by Yodogiri Jinnai to infiltrate in the Dollars, this resulted in [[spoiler:Shijima giving a gun glove to Mikado which he finally used to shoot Masaomi and his attempted suicide.]]
* SpoiledBrat: As soon as he lost against Izaya, and after messing with the Awakusu, he decided to ask his grandfather for help, who is an important politian. Nevertheless, while his grandfather agreed to deal with the Awakusu, in return, Shijima had to work with Yodogiri.
* VillainTeamUp: [[InvokedTrope Invoked]] and later [[SubvertedTrope subverted]]. He acknowledged that his group is not powerful enough so he attempted to ally himself with Amphisbaena. His plan failed in the end because of Izaya, who defeated both groups. [[spoiler:They finally team up in ''SH'' once Izaya left Ikebukuro.]]

Trope was cut/disambiguated due to cleanup

* KickTheDog and/or KickTheSonOfABitch: In Izaya's flashback he is seen stepping on the head of [[AssholeVictim Takashi Nasujima-sensei]] as Nasujima lowers his head [[PoseOfSupplication begging for mercy.]] It's also possible he's kicked other puppies collecting from debtors that are are TooDumbToLive or just dirt-poor. It's strictly professional, of course.
