* {{Flanderization}}: Originally, Mr. Popo's demeanor and the terror he caused was just based off the fact he was able to to defend himself from Super Saiyan Goten and Trunks, an impressive feat for a NonActionGuy. But over the years, Popo's gone from "decently strong" to EldritchAbomination that has a certified StoryBreakerPower that could wipe out most any enemy if he felt like it.

* SuperStrength: Regardless of how weak she is compared to the Z-Fighters, she's still strong enough to swing a tube TV around like a cardboard box, as well as her father, at the same time.

* AmbiguouslyBi: He's in a romantic relationship with Korrin, but was also excited to see Bulma breastfeed baby Trunks.

* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul: In canon, Roshi trained under Korin for three years. Here, Roshi seems to have never knew about Korin until after the Saiyan Saga, being surprised that a cat was able to talk after Korin explained who Mr. Popo was.

* SparedInTheAdaptation: In ''Buu Bits'', the moment where he's killed by Dabura is skipped.

* KilledOffscreen: Again, not "killed" per se, merely fused with Shin, and likely de-fused by the time of the epilogue.

** He's marginally nicer to Videl... until the exact moment he discovers she's friends with Gohan, and instantly assumes ([[RightForTheWrongReasons correctly]]) that they're attracted to each other. Then he [[CrazyJealousGuy instantly hates her forever]].

* StatingTheSimpleSolution: When he asks why Buu doesn't just use his incredible magical powers to turn rocks and other inanimate objects into food instead of people, it turns out Buu [[NonMaliciousMonster just never thought of trying that and is perfectly on board with not eating people anymore]]. Even Satan can't believe he's just saved the world with that one.

* LustMakesYouDumb: [[AdaptationalKarma Unlike the source material]], [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome he has gotten in serious legal trouble for his actions]]; he's on a sex offender registry and has been banned from ''more than 500 Victoria's Secret stores''. The fact that he has to use a fake name in his everyday life (his actual name is never revealed) shows just how little self-control he has.

* ObfuscatingStupidity: One gets the impression that he's not as stupid as he looks and just acts that way to mess with people, especially Nail. This trait is even more pronounced in ''WebAnimation/HFIL'' where he seems to be as senile and scatterbrained as he can, but suddenly becomes maliciously more eloquent the moment he decides to join Cell to take revenge on the Ginyus for tipping him over.

* TookALevelInJerkass: In ''WebAnimation/HFIL'', since he doesn't need to put up a facade of kind and wise leader anymore (and nobody can kill him) Guru is just lazy, unhelpful and spiteful.

* WinsByDoingAbsolutelyNothing: In HFIL, since he was the last player standing in the dodgeball game, he is the winner... even after spending the entire game just sitting around as the rest of the villains deck each other out.
