* AnguishedDeclarationOfLove: To ''Gohan'' who, if the Buu Saga gets any sort of representation in the series, will [[ForegoneConclusion most likely]] end up in a relationship with Videl.

** Come the "Buu Bits", Dende starts treating Videl well, right before Videl mentions that she is friends with Gohan. Dende starts getting jealous that Gohan has a friend who is his age, female, and "normal-colored skin". Upon meeting Mr. Satan, Dende says to his face that Videl is a man-stealing whore.

** When he is teleported to the lookout, he treats everyone but Gohan with pure contempt. This is understandable since Goku basically kidnapped him with teleportation, but he's even hostile to Piccolo now, who admitted aloud that he missed Dende. When Krillin tries to call him "Little Green" again, Dende ragefully strikes him and demands to be called Super Kami Dende. Mr. Popo on the other hand, is actually impressed by his attitude.

* BerserkButton: Goku taking Gohan to train instead of studying.

Where you probably stand in the pecking order seems to depend on how competent you are, since, in comparison, he's not as disparaging towards Goku (apart from his idiocy, but that's fair game anyway), Piccolo (because he's technically also Kami and especially [[spoiler:he's now fused with Kami]]), and as of now, [[spoiler:Tien]]. He quickly warms up to Dende after Dende becomes a god and starts getting things done.
** And as Vegeta very much learns the hard way in Episode 55, don't you '''dare''' call him [[spoiler:"black man"]].

* AllPowerfulBystander: Besides his ability to basically ''eat'' Garlic Jr, he can also literally make the sun come back after it goes nova, is Shenron's master, and, as he is a later version of Dumplin, is physically more powerful than any other character encountered so far in the series.

** Mr. Popo's AdaptationalBadass status is so ridiculous to the point where nothing in the entire run of the show can top his strength, so in order to preserve drama and tension, he's kept in check by his own apathy, or by getting high, meaning he only acts from the sidelines.

* ScaryBlackMan: Averted. Mr. Popo is very scary and very black, but he does not really correspond to any real-world ethnicity. Vegeta paid for making that mistake.

* HiddenDepths: It's implied that he respects others if they're willing to go against beings way outside of their weight class for reasons other than arrogance. He actually shows some benevolence to Tien, who nearly killed himself with a continual stream of Kikoho's and mouthed off to Cell right before he would have been killed, and Dende, who mouthed off to Mr. Popo for threatening to use a hated nickname, and (in a deleted scene) Videl, whose shocked question of if he wae allowed [[ActuallyPrettyFunny made him laugh, much to Dende's dismay]]. Contrast this with what he does to Vegeta, who insulted Mr. Popo after being warned against it, and Goku, who pressed his luck by doing his normal {{Malaproper}} schtick on purpose. Even Goku usually gets a pass since he finds him endearing.

* ActuallyPrettyFunny: A blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment in Episode 7, [[FunnyBackgroundEvent he laughs in the background]] when Gohan agrees that Piccolo had the strongest power level on Earth.

* DiesDifferentlyInAdaptation: In the Buu Bits, Super Buu torments Gohan by opening mouths on himself so Gohan can hear the cries of all the victims he’s absorbed, with Chi-Chi’s voice expressing shock that she was turned into an egg at some point. This seems to imply that Super Buu ate her after turning her into an egg in this continuity, whereas the original canon had him smash her underfoot after turning her into an egg because he was annoyed with her.

* FantasticRacism: Subverted. He has nothing against mortals (or "morties" as they call them). He does get exasperated by Goku's BloodKnight tendencies.

* AttentionWhore: Much like in the source material, he's quite irritated when people steal the spotlight from him, since he's paid for every second he's on camera.

* GenerationXerox: Much like his father ([[LikeFatherUnlikeSon and unlike Gohan]]), he's a very silly, yet powerful person who looks near-identical to Goku in the original ''Dragon Ball''. His appearance in the Buu Bits says as much, [[spoiler:with his InnerMonologue during his fight with Trunks being something that would go on in Goku's brain, the only difference being the cultural relevancy that the song debuted in]].
