An infamous and legendary Overlord, rightfully feared across all Netherworlds. He's regarded as being one of the most difficult bosses to exist in any ''Nippon Ichi'' game and always appears in future ''Disgaea'' installments as the game's BonusBoss.

* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Although he retains his fearsome reputation as the Tyrant Overlord, ''Disgaea 3'' is him at his least antagonistic due to a case of NotMeThisTime.
* AmbiguousSituation: It's never made clear why Baal suddenly stirred awake when Rozalin walks up to him, though the implication is that he was reacting to her presence as Overlord Zenon, rather than the idea of her being Zenon's daughter.
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: In ''VideoGame/MakaiKingdom'', he's described as being a congregation of evil souls that have accumulated over the years, owing to his repeated {{Demonic Possession}}s over the years.
