* BrokenBird: Oh God, Western Sahara just cannot catch a break. The African Five adore causing her trouble at every opportunity. And seeing as how Nigeria once gleefully referred to her as their 'toy', it's possible that she's been ''tortured'' by them just for laughs. All her troubles began years ago when she accidentally stumbled upon Morocco having an out-of-character conversation with a couple of his fellow members, which then led to her getting captured and brought before the Order, where they'd vote whether or not to kill her for discovering them. Luckily for her, the majority of them voted for her to live. But unfortunately as ''punishment'' she was forced to help the Order and have her land become Moroccan territory until the day of the the War arrived, where she'd be given Independence as a ''reward''. Horrified by this, she tried to fight back, but she always lost and was always subjected to harsh punishments later. All this helped her in becoming bitter and pessimistic as the years went by, but she never lost her sharp tongue. And just when things are looking up for her as Morocco finally gives her independence and promises to ''never come back to her land again'', he takes advantage of a loophole and sends her a recording of [[spoiler:Spain's brutal death at the hands of the South Americans]]. Despite her rocky history with him, this enrages Western Sahara to the point of going out to get revenge on the South Americans by killing South Africa, as he and Brazil are close friends, without even considering the consequences that would follow. This ends up backfiring on her spectacularly, and she ends up [[spoiler:killing ROC instead in front of a recently recruited DRC by accident,]] before fleeing the scene with tremendous guilt and horror at her actions. Then, Morocco appears before her and reveals that he intended this to happen, minus the unfortunate 'accident', with the goal of 'helping' Western Sahara understand his anger, then he proceeds to taunt her while Western Sahara screamed. She returns home and a new sense of self-loathing. After a while, things began to look up for her when her old friend Igbo suddenly appears at her door and the two comfort each other, and then suddenly having her family that she hasn't heard from in days call her... [[spoiler:Until Igbo suddenly attacks her and destroys the phone before she could say too much. She discovers that he's under Nigeria's mind control, and is forced to fight him with her getting dragged back to Morocco if she lost. After a harsh struggle, she manages to knock him out, and ends up having to crawl to the bathroom to throw up from all the times Igbo dealt her a harsh blow in the stomach, all the the while wondering when her suffering will end. Frustrated, she calls Nigeria and demands that he [[spoiler:releases his hold over Igbo so that he won't attack her again when he woke up]], and he complies... in exchange for cutting off contact with her family until the Order allows otherwise, to which she reluctantly agrees. Poor Western Sahara...
* IKnowYoureInThereSomewhereFight: She tries this with Igbo after [[spoiler:Nigeria takes control of him and has him attack Western Sahara just as she was about to reveal her former part as an unwilling accomplice to the New World Order to her family to prevent her from rebelling. The problem is, Igbo is ''aware'' that Nigeria is controlling him but he's been corrupted to not care and even ''enjoy'' having his mind warped by his deranged relative]]. So, when Western Sahara grudginly accepts that it's no use tryig to talk sense into him, she resorts to other tactics.

* BrainwashedAndCrazy: It's revealed that [[spoiler: after or during the Nigerian Civil War, Nigeria implanted a portion of his soul in Igbo and his other ethnic personifications to prevent more rebellions. This not only helps keep an eye on them, but also enables him to control them. And when he's alerted that Western Sahara's about to alert Algeria and Tunisia about her role in the Order, Nigeria immediately takes control of Igbo and turns him into a near copy of himself and sets him on Western Sahara. Igbo spends the entire time taunting Western Sahara, taking immense pleasure in hurting her and ''relishing'' the control Nigeria has over him. Igbo is horrified when he's set free, because he remembers every single moment of it.

* PoliticallyIncorrectHero: Subverted. As seen in a flashback with Morocco, she was at first. However, after Morocco reveals that [[spoiler:Tunisia is gay and therefore 'just as deserving of hell as Morocco is']], she is enraged when he remarks that as a good Muslim she'll be obligated to make Tunisia's life hell, saying that she'd never do that to him. She even wants to keep Tunisia safe from Morocco. And it's implied that she has since developed a more tolerant stance towards gays. She is still disgusted by Morocco's pervertedness and inetions, although could we really blame her?

* AloofDarkHairedGirl: Downplayed. While she is understandably cold and bitter against members of the New World Order for everything they put her through, as we see from her interactions with Igbo and her family, she's actually prettty friendly.
