* AbusiveParents: Daeva's father was neglectful (while her mother is too busy being dead), being mostly out of Daeva's life on 'business trips' and letting her fend for herself, and on the few occasions he returned he did nothing to help raise Daeva or protect his own father (and Daeva's doting grandfather) from his greedy, grasping siblings and nephews who are waiting for him to die (or a chance to murder him) for his fortune, and then to cap it all off killed Daeva's grandfather/his own father after hearing that Daeva was to inherit his father's fortune, and [[spoiler:wants to drag his daughter and what's left of his family into occultic shenanigans he and his associates had been up to after discovering her true nature]]. Needless to say, Daeva had no problems disowning him as her father and killing him as she had most of her family.

* AnimalsHateHim: Animals and even plant life react badly in her presence. Her mere birth caused all the plants around the Malefia estate to die, and most animals turn hostile in her presence, save for those usually often associated with evil like snakes. She could also be very charismatic when she needed to be thanks to her unnatural intelligence and supernatural abilities, and as shown in her group of companions is capable of genuine friendship with those who saw pass her grades, status and presence and sincerely caring for her.

* AntiAntichrist: An interesting case. She only rejected her supposed destiny and expectations, but otherwise embraced her evil powers and nature. This apparently stemmed from her desire to have genuine friends and family as much as she desired power and causing evil great or small for her own ends, as well as not being aware of exactly what her dark destiny was until much later.
* AssholeVictim:
** Nearly every member of the Malefia Family who isn't Daeva, her paternal grandfather or her distant loving aunt in Wighttown is a rotten person, made decadent by their wealth and are one and all heartless, cruel and selfish Ponies who cared only for themselves and their patriarch's wealth. Even said patriarch couldn't stand them, to the point he gave his granddaughter his full approval and advice on how to bump them off when he noticed her doing it, in part to make sure she alone would be the one to inherit his fortune, not anypony else in his own family.
** Many BarbaricBully who were [[TooDumbToLive stupid enough]] to [[BullyingADragon mess with Daeva]] or [[BerserkButton her friends]] were such complete flankholes they almost deserved what awful fates or horrific demises they got as a consequence. Foul Breath, [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/897831515/4959044292 for example]], was so cruel and mean she ''took pride'' in almost driving one of her victims to suicide, while Spoiled Cabbage found amusement harassing one of Daeva's friends to the point of trying to ruin said friend's birthday party and threatened Daeva with violence when she foiled their plot. Considering [[TheAntiChrist who they were messing with]], it ends badly for both of them.
* BarbaricBully: When she went to an elementary boarding school after moving into Wightstown, she was targetted by several packs of bullies who thought this CreepyChild was an easy target. Most of them, except for those who are too fearless or stupid, quickly learned it was a bad idea to pick on her after some of them either [[NothingIsScarier flat out disappeared]] or suffered various misfortunes either implied by her direct hoof or indirectly due to her presence.

** Daeva pushed her cruel third aunt down a flight of stairs and broke her neck when she killed Daeva's beloved pet snake and laughed about it. This act awakened the dark powers Daeva was born with.
** Daeva's neglectful father murdered her doting grandfather when the Malefia patriarch finalized a will which gives his vast fortune to Daeva instead of him, his son. Daeva responded by summoning and immolating him and his associates in hellfire.

* BigScrewedUpFamily: The Malefia Family has vast wealth and is apparently quite influential, but had become rotten almost to the core, with most of its members being cruel, heartless, decadent Ponies who cared only for themselves and are scheming against each other and waiting for the family patriarch to hit the bucket (and [[AntagonisticOffspring not above trying to]] [[MurderInTheFamily speed up the process]]) in order to get his vast family fortune. They were so bad that both Daeva and even her grandfather grew to hate most of them, and the latter gave the former his full approval in bumping them off and even gave her advice and support on how to do it.
* BullyHunter: Downplayed and PlayedForHorror. While she did not actively go after the packs of bullies which terrorized the elementary boarding school she went to after moving into Wightstown with her surviving relative, any bully which messed with her or her friends suffered one terrible fate or another, if not outright disappearing altogether, and those who didn't quickly learnt to back off.
* BoardingSchool: After moving into Wightstown, Daeva would go to a prestigous local one in the form of Wights Abbey School, where she would spent the next four years of her life, studying and staying in the dorms on weekdays while living with her caretaker aunt on weekends.
* TheChessmaster: When [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/897831515/4959045136 helping]] the reclusive dark wizard Warrick the Warlock of Blackfriar Moor resolve his centuries-long feud with the evil witch Tenebrous the Treacherous, she executed an elaborate, high-risk scheme which allowed her to trick Tenebrous into destroying herself after Daeva's initial efforts to deal with her through her powers and cunning failed before the evil witch's own power and experience. She pretended to offer herself in becoming her student in the dark arts, and was tasked with stealing a sample of Warrick's 'Elixir of Renewing Youth' which she desired more than having her as an apprentice. She does so, risking Warrick's wrath [[XanatosSpeedChess stealing it from him]] when she [[SpannerInTheWorks failed]] to [[PragmaticVillainy persuade him into just giving it over]]. She then gave it to Tenebrous to sample, but not before using her dark powers to [[{{Transmutation}} transmute]] some of it into a magical compound - not poison, knowing the evil witch [[ProperlyParanoid suspect treachery at every turn]] even as she [[ChronicBackstabbingDisorder gleefully betrays everyone else]], but is [[LogicalWeakness less likely to suspect something which could just be an ingrediant she does not know of]] - which only react in vicinity of certain dark magics like the ones writhing through her old crone body. The elixir changed properties because of this just as it went down her gullet, turning from an 'Elixir of Renewing Youth' to an 'Elixir of Animal Transformation' which turned Tenebrous into a rat instead of rejuvenating her. Warrick was so impressed at her cunning (and grateful for finally getting rid of his hated ArchEnemy for him) he forgave her earlier transgression, helping to tutor her in mastering her dark powers and become a valuable ally in uncovering the truth of her 'dark destiny'.
* ChildProdigy: She is still a school age filly, yet she is noted to be unnaturally intelligent to the point she is already smarter and keener than most adults, aced all her classes academically, is a natural manipulator and schemer, and had already mastered MindManipulation, [[MindOverMatter Telekinesis]], [[PlayingWithFire Pyrokinesis]], {{Transmutation}}, [[{{Curse}} Curses]] and other dark powers and dark arts she was born with or later learnt on a level to rival centuries-old experienced wizards and witches.
* CreepyChild: Daeva's birth was heralded by many portents of doom and caused misfortunes all around the Isle of Wights. At six years old, Daeva was unsettlingly calm and well-behaved, as well as more unnaturally intelligent and keen-eyed than the adults of her family. Her mere presence was enough to make animals hate her, make her surroundings unbearably cold or hot, darken any room she's in and floor Ponies with dread. This creeped out many in her family, who are already heartless and uncaring towards her, and made them disregard and despise her even more.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: Some of her more spectacular murders of her rotten family were made to be these in reflection or parody of her AssholeVictim's vices and sins in life, helped along by her devious intellect and dark powers. The same goes for anyone else after that who messed with Daeva or those she genuinely care for.
** She killed her second uncle, a villainous glutton, while he was having a health-mandated walk in the Malefia Manor gardens by luring him into the estate's private zoo with a magical illusion of a grand feast, where he would fall into a pit full of lions when the railing she tampered with gave way, resulting in him being EatenAlive.
** She killed two of her aunts, a pair of twins, using their vanity and envy, [[GreenEyedMonster tricking one into murdering the other out of jealousy]] after using MindControl to have a visiting famous fashion figure invite one of them to perform in a grand show, and then [[DrivenToSuicide drove the other one to suicide]] by spiking her make-up with a toxic compound which ruined her face when applied.
** She killed her third uncle, a greedy bastard who had been stealing treasure from her paternal grandfather's vault, by using telekinesis to topple the pile of treasure right on top of him, crushing him to death.
** She killed her fourth uncle, a lustful and depraved stallion who was a suspected pedophile and accused rapist, by luring him into the Malefia Manor basement, knowing he can't resist trying to molest her, only to have him trapped in one of the collection of medieval dungeon torture devices and proceeded to torture him to death.
** She killed her own father, after he murdered his own father and her grandfather, by unleashing her dark powers fully for the first time and immolating him and his associates in hellfire, an act which also burnt down Malefia Manor.

It turns out [[spoiler:he and his associates were planning something in relation to his young daughter's supposed destiny]], but the fact that [[spoiler:he intended to use his daughter as a pawn all along]] showed how very little he cared for her as a person. Needless to say, Daeva feel no remorse in rejecting him as her father and killing him with hellfire.
* DeathGlare: Helped by the fact she had crimson-pupiled eyes which glow blood red with light in rage and malevolence, Daeva's gazes are truly terrifying sights which more often than not heralds an act of evil or use of her dark powers. Her bully Foul Breath learn this the hard way as she became filled with terror looking into them, moments before Daeva inflicted a CruelAndUnusualDeath upon her for [[TooDumbToLive spitefully destroying one of Daeva's late mother's books]] and [[BullyingADragon descecrated her mother's memory right before Daeva]]
* DefrostingIceQueen: While she initially didn't think much of the four classmates who she would eventually get along with, their sincerity as kindred outcasts who aren't afraid of and even genuinely care for her eventually led to her recognizing and caring back for them as her friends.
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: In one of their adventures/misadventures during Daeva's years attending Wights Abbey School, she and her friends took out a powerful 'Ghoul Lord' who kidnapped their classmates with the intent to feast on their tender flesh, rescuing them and freeing/befriending a Werewolf FeralChild the Ghoul Lord had on a leash to do the kidnappings. Daeva by herself also took out a centuries-old WickedWitch [[ObviouslyEvil Tenebrous the]] [[RedBaron Treacherous]] who was powerful and experience enough to outmatch even Daeva's own power at the time through trickery, [[GuileHero fooling her]] into drinking an elixir which [[BalefulPolymorph turned her into a rat]] instead of [[ElixirOfLife rejuvenating her]].
* TheDreaded: Daeva's [[CreepyChild unsettling supernatural presence]] could floor Ponies with dread merely in her presence, and she also developed a bit of this reputation at the elementary boarding school she attended, in part because any bully who tried messing with her often end up suffering horrible fates directly or indirectly because of her.
* DrivenToMadness: Spoiled Cabbage, a BarbaricBully who messed with Daeva's friend and threatened Daeva herself, went mad presumably after his life was ruined in four days by the loss of his friends/cronies, his family's business and his parents to various terrible misfortunes, although some supernatural curse may be involved in the last one. Either way, many suspected Daeva had something to do with it, although nopony could prove anything.
* DrivenToSuicide: She drove one of her rotten aunts to suicide by exploiting her vanity, spiking her make-up with a toxic compound which permenantly ruined her face when applied.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Of her BigScrewedUpFamily, the only family members she was close to was her distant yet loving (if somewhat clueless) aunt who lived in Wighttown, her dying and [[ObfuscatingStupidity seemingly]] senile paternal grandfather, and her pet snake. Her grandfather was a DotingGrandparent who bonded with her over their shared hatred of their rotten family and extended relatives, and even advised her on how to kill off some of the worst ones. Her pet snake, meanwhile, was one of few animals that weren't [[AnimalsHateHim automatically repulsed by her very presence]]. When her third aunt killed her pet snake out of petty cruelty, she killed her in a fit of rage by [[StaircaseTumble pushing her aunt down the stairs]]. When her grandfather was murdered by her father for not willing his inheritance to him, she killed her father in turn by [[KillItwithFire burning him alive]] without a shred of remorse, [[spoiler:especially after learning that her father and his associates solely intended to groom her into becoming TheAntiChrist for their own malicious ends]].
* EvenEvilHasStandards: There's is something wrong, vicious, cruel and evil with Daeva Malefia from day one, but even she found herself hating her rotten family save for her doting grandfather and a distant loving aunt, and seized the opportunity to act out her hatred and KillEmAll when her dark powers awakened so she could protect her grandfather from their machinations and eventually inherit his vast fortune.
* EvilGenius: Daeva is deviously intelligent despite her youth, being described as smarter and more keen-eyed than even her adult relatives at age six, which added to her [[CreepyChild unnerving creepiness]] and helped her greatly in creatively using her dark powers when they awakened to bump off her rotten family.

Her murder of most of her family and burning down her home at age six is inspired by the actions of Lucius, the AntiChrist VillainProtagonist of the ''[[{{VideoGame/Lucius}} Lucius]]'' videogame series who does the same thing in the first game on orders of his true father Lucifer.
* Fiction500: The Malefia Family, and the Malefia patriarch in particular, has vast fortunes which most of the family was keen on getting their hooves on when the dying patriarch finally hit the bucket. Daeva ultimately ends up with it when she bumped off most of her rotten relatives and her grandfather (who approved of her actions) finalized a will to let her have it, entrusting it to her only remaining loving aunt in Wighttown until Daeva is old enough to get the whole sum.
* FireForgedFriends: Daeva's friendship with her [[RagtagBunchOfMisfits misfit classmates]] making up '[[FiveManBand Daeva's Heralds]]' were reinforced by [[NoodleIncident many adventures and misadventures]] both hilarious and harrowing, incredible and supernatural they would have over four years as they ran into and uncovered many of the ill-omened [[IslandOfMystery Isle of Wights]]' mysteries and secrets, turning them into a group of inseparable companions who trust and care for each other through thick and thin.
* FiveManBand: Daeva's own group of fellow kindred outcasts-turn-FireForgedFriends, which others would nickname 'Daeva's Heralds', are something like this: the cold and calculating Daeva is the TheLeader, while the adventurous Griffon cub Gideon is TheHeavy. The timid choir Pegasi filly Featherfluff is TheChick, while the nerdy Stinger - who turned out to be an Autumn Court Changeling child - is TheSmartGuy. Finally the sensible voice-of-reason, the Unicorn filly Clear Mind is TheLancer.

Needless to say, she ultimately had no problems rejecting and killing him.

* HappilyAdopted: With her DotingGrandparent finally deceased, her father and most of her relatives secretly killed by her own hooves and her home Malefia Manor burnt to the ground, she was placed in the care of her sole surviving loving (if somewhat clueless) aunt in Wightstown, the only other member of her family whom she actually cared for, who was also made in the Malefia patriarch's finalized will to be the trustee of his vast fortune until Daeva herself is old enough to inherit it. * HolyBurnsEvil: Due to being an '[[TheAntiChrist Antimessiah]]' and pretty much evil by default, the presence of holy objects and holy places weakens her and harms her. * ManipulativeBastard: Working her devious intellect in conjunction with her dark powers, Daeva arranged the deaths of her rotten family in accidents, suicide and even murder by others, with the full approval and advice of her own paternal grandfather (who also grew to hate his own family as much as she does and wanted her alone to inherit his vast fortune). This was helped by some of her powers which allowed her to be literally this to the minds of others and her surroundings. This later extended to her classmates and teachers in Wights Abbey School, being charismatic and manipulative enough to rise to a position of dominance in every school club and student organization she became member of despite her status as TheDreaded.
* MeaningfulName: Daeva's first name is based on the Zoroastrian dark/evil supernatural entities of the same name, in essence the Persian word for Demon or Devil. Malefia meanwhile is derived from ''maleficus'', which is Latin for causing supernatural harm or destruction. Rather fitting for an '[[AntiChrist Antimessiah]]' whose very malevolent presence causes misfortune and was destined to bring about great evil and calamity to the world.
* MindManipulation: One of the dark powers she acquired was this, first using it to make a maid who witnessed her killing her third aunt forget she saw Daeva push her down the stairs and break her neck. Once she unlocked more of her powers and mastered them, she was able to use this ability more creatively in killing off her rotten family, such as using it to persuade a visiting famous fashion figure give a prestigous role in a grand show to one of her aunt, [[BatmanGambit knowing she would gloat about it to her twin sister]], who would proceed to murder her [[GreenEyedMonster in a fit of jealousy]].
* MindOverMatter: She is noted to possess a form of telekinesis which she also used in her murders of her rotten family as one of her dark powers, incidentally implying she is not a Unicorn and didn't have it as a natural ability.
* MurderInTheFamily: Daeva does this to most of her family, though they were so rotten they had it coming and she did it partly to protect her dying grandfather from them, one of the few members of her family who she cares for and cares for her in turn. Even so, her enthusiasm for doing it and the grisliness of some of her victims' fates [[EveryoneHasStandards creeped out even the]] [[ConditionedToAcceptHorror normally desensitised]] ''"Codex Equus"'' researchers.

Daeva would learn to do the same at his advise by pretending to be a harmless little filly and doing everything possible to deflect suspicion, which allowed her to remain inconspicuous as both a murderer killing off her relatives and an '[[AntiChrist Antimessiah]]'.
* ParentalNeglect: While her mother is dead (due to 'disturbing complications' which her birth caused), her father was a neglectful bastard who didn't even bother showing up to see her birth or even attend his own wife's funeral, and spent much of Daeva's life out of sight on 'business trips' such that she was essentially raised by the Malefias Family's servants and her paternal grandfather who dotes on her, nor did anything to protect her or his father from her rotten relatives/his rotten siblings and nephews. [[spoiler:This is revealed to be in part due to him busy with some secret occultic operation which involved her and her supposed destiny.]] Regardless, Daeva ultimately decided she wanted nothing to do with him [[spoiler:or her supposed destiny he mentioned]] and [[KillItWithFire burnt him alive]] [[CruelAndUnusualDeath in hellfire]].
* PedophilePriest: In [[NoodleIncident one of her misadventures]] while attending Wights Abbey School, Daeva uncovered a cabal of them within Isle of Wights' synod of the Griffish Meganian Church when she investigated the [[RapeAsDrama reason]] for her choir filly friend Featherfluff's [[BrokenBird timidity]]. She proceeded to expose them and their crimes ([[PayEvilUntoEvil and then secretly]] [[KillEmAll disposed of them]]).
* PlayingWithFire: She could play with hellfire as one of her dark powers, and she summoned substantial quantities of it to immolate her father and burn down Malefia Manor after her grandfather died at her father's hooves and she decides she wants nothing to do with him [[spoiler:or the supposed destiny he wants her to be part of]].
* PortentOfDoom: There is a reason why Daeva Malefia earned the epithet of 'the Omen of Evil', as her coming and presence is heralded or marked by many portents of doom. Her birth was heralded by omens such as ship-wrecking unnatural storms and fouling of milk (leading to mass food poisoning) around the Isle of Wights, while at her birth itself plants around her family's estate withered and her mother died from 'disturbing complications', while the doctors and nurses who delivered her all suffered from misfortune and tragic deaths sometime afterwards. Even at six years old her very presence darkened rooms, make her surroundings uncomfortably hot/cold, drives animals to hostility, and floor even grown up Ponies with dread. During her time in Wights Abbey School in Wightstown these portents would increase in number and intensity, from unnatural weather like rains of blood, smogs of decay and hails of cinders, mass dying of fish and animals going rabid, pestilence swarms of vermin like toads, flies, rats, and even hauntings and appearances of Undead and demons all over the Isle of Wights, all signs of her growing power and presence as well as heralding some imminent calamity hinted in Daeva's dark destiny.
* PreMortemOneLiner: Daeva dropped one to Foul Breath - a BarbaricBully who made the mistake of [[BullyingADragon picking on her]], [[BerserkButton destroying her late mother's book]] and [[ThisIsUnforgivable descecrating her memory]] out of pure spite for Daeva - immediately prior to inflicting a CruelAndUnusualDeath to her on the spot.

* ScrewDestiny: One of the most notable facts about Daeva is that despite being an '[[AntiChrist Antimessiah]]', she wanted nothing to do with her supposed destiny to bring about apocalyptic evil and calamity, intending to forge her own path. * SelfMadeOrphan: She unintentionally killed her own mother at birth with 'disturbing' birth complications, and after giving most of her rotten family their well-deserved deaths killed her neglectful and abusive father last after he killed her grandfather (and his father) to get his fortune [[spoiler:and tried to drag his daughter into some occultic operation he had been part of]].
* SerialKiller: The first thing Daeva did after her dark powers awakened was to use them to secretly murder most of her family, having hated most of them for being the rotten people they are and now having the means to do them in and no reason in her eyes not to do it. That she increases and unlocks more of her powers from each evil act was an incidental bonus.
* StaircaseTumble: How she killed her cruel and petty third aunt, in rage and revenge for her third aunt's petty killing of Daeva's beloved pet snake, pushing her down a flight of stairs in Malefia Manor and breaking her neck. This act of evil was what awakened her dark powers for the first time.
* SoleSurvivor: Apart from a loving aunt in Wightstown who became her adoptive caretaker and trustee to her fortune, Daeva Malefia is the sole survivor of the 'Malefia Family Tragedy' and the clan, although this is a [[SelfMadeOrphan self-inflicted case]] as she murdered most of her clan herself.

She showed no regret when she accidentally caused her third aunt's death in anger (after said aunt killed her pet snake and laughed in her face about it), and when her dark powers awakened because of it, she decided the best way to use them was to finally act on her hatred for her rotten family and murder most of them.
* WhereIWasBornAndRazed: Daeva Malefia was born a member of the Malefia Family in the Malefia estate. She proceeded to kill nearly all of them and burn the whole place to the ground at age six after her true nature awakened.
