* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Only in the sense that, unlike the actual Sparx, he left butterflies alone unless they attacked him first and, even then, he didn't eat them, which would have been considered cannibalism to a fellow insect. Rather, he ate most of the same foods that the dragons did.

They would frequently clash whenever they cross paths and develop a deep rivalry, which would finally escalate to all-out war when other pirates and sailors began calling them as the 'King of Pirates' - and both decide there can only be one.
* CoolShip: Barnacle first commands the Peace Main, which would become the name for the type of FriendlyPirate he embodies. By the time of the war for the Pirate King title he has with his ArchEnemy he would command the Gold Roger, the previous ship implied to be lost at some point.
