[[folder:Cornell]]
[[quoteright:205:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/300px-CastlevaniaCornell_2915.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by (Japanese):''' Creator/KatsuyukiKonishi
->'''Voiced by (English):''' John Nuzzo (''Legacy of Darkness''), Creator/PaulStPeter (''VideoGame/CastlevaniaJudgment'')

->"''No one will listen to reason from the mouth of a beast.''"

A [[OurWerewolvesAreDifferent man-beast]] from a clan of similar individuals who sealed away their transformation ability in order to live alongside humans. Through rigorous training, he managed to regain such abilities. He heads to Dracula's castle to find the ones responsible for kidnapping his "sister" Ada, a survivor from a previous man-beast attack. After a confrontation with his jealous [[TheRival rival]], Ortega, he destroys Dracula and saves Ada, but at the cost of his alternate form. [[MyDeathIsJustTheBeginning A form that is used to revive Dracula again, stronger than ever...]]
-----
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: To his rival, Ortega.
* BigBrotherMentor: To Ada, [[NotBloodSiblings his adoptive sister]].
* {{Bishonen}}: He's pretty good-looking when not transformed.
* BlessedWithSuck: His wolf form. On the one hand, it makes him far more powerful than he normally is, but on the other hand, he has trouble controlling himself while transformed, and [[FaceOfAThug many people assume he's evil even when in control.]]
* BroughtDownToNormal: Dracula extracts his wolf powers so that he can be reborn. Cornell doesn't miss them.
* BruceLeeClone: Perhaps it's very subtle if you don't know beforehand (besides, he doesn't make the signature noises), but Cornell was developed as the "close-range martial arts character" originally and still kicks if you leave him standing around for a while. Once you know this bit of trivia, Cornell's design gives off some serious Bruce Lee vibes, with the same haircut and small but toned frame.
* DarkIsNotEvil: He's a werewolf, but unlike most of them in this series, he's firmly on the side of good.
* DefectorFromDecadence: Seeing his clan wipe out an entire village and leave Ada as the only survivor made Cornell [[TrainingFromHell work vigorously to control his beast form]] for Ada's sake.
* InvoluntaryShapeshifting: [[TrainingFromHell He gets over it]]... and eventually loses the ability altogether.
* RedBaron: The "Blue Crescent Moon".
* SuperMode: Changing into his werewolf form enhances his strength until he runs out of jewels.
* SwordBeam: His main attack in ''Legacy of Darkness'', which comes from his claws.
* WolfMan: His ''Judgment'' design kicks this up a notch by making Cornell a ''[[MonsterKnight wolf knight]]''.
* WolverineClaws: Comes with the territory of being a man-beast.
* WonderfulWerewolf: His intensive training to control his wolf form has two reasons; disgust with his clan's [[SavageWolves savagery]] and a desire to protect his sister.

[[folder:Henry Oldrey]]
[[quoteright:276:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Henryoldrey_132.jpg]]
->'''Voiced by (English):''' Takashi Bratcher (child; ''Legacy of Darkness'')

A young boy who was caught in the middle of Dracula's latest attack when his wealthy family's manor was occupied by vampires. With the blessing of his not-yet-vampirized mother and Cornell's assistance, he managed to escape with his life.\\\

Years later, the forces of evil emerged yet again, abducting children to achieve their unholy goal. Henry decided that he would save the kids in the same way that he himself had been saved. Problem is, he's not a vampire hunter of any particular lineage. Solution? [[BoringButPractical Wear a lot of armor and carry a gun.]]
----
* BadassNormal: Unlike all of the other protagonists, Henry has no magic nor anti-vampire weaponry save subweapons nor a history fighting against the forces of darkness. Not that that will stop him from trying!
* CharacterNarrator: Seves as one for ''Legacy of Darkness'' although primarily in the Japanese version.
* {{Expy}} Of Judeau from ''{{Manga/Berserk}}''.
* TheGunslinger: One of his weapons is a six-shot revolver.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Has blonde hair, and goes off to Dracula's castle to save the children kidnapped to empower Dracula.
* HeroesPreferSwords: Like Reinhardt, for close-range foes.
* KnightInShiningArmor: He certainly looks the part.
* ShipTease: With Ada in the one scene they share: the epilogue. As such, it's more of a MaybeEverAfter.

[[folder:Ortega]]
Cornell's childhood friend, Ortega is a fellow man-beast soldier and master of the martial arts. He is Cornell's best friend, but also rival. Ortega is often frustrated because it seems that whatever he does, Cornell does better.
----
* {{Expy}}: Of Diaz from ''VideoGame/HybridHeaven''. Musclebound dark-skinned blonds with Spanish names that bear a grudge against the main characters (Diaz was impersonated by Johnny Slater and had his reputation ruined because of it, Ortega felt that he was always overshadowed by Cornell) and were eventually consumed by their thirst for revenge.
* OneWingedAngel: Turns into a Chimera for his boss fight.
* PantheraAwesome: His man-beast form is that of a were-lion
* RedemptionEqualsDeath: Upon defeat, he realizes that he made a horrible mistake, and helps Cornell one last time before dying.
* TheRival: Who eventually becomes a RivalTurnedEvil.
