* AmbiguousGender: The game can't seem to decide if they're a female who just uses "Mr." in her title or if hes actually a male. For the sake of simplicity, we'll just stick with male pronouns.

* MultipleChoicePast: Contradictory dialogue and excerpts of the letter (which was written from Scarlett's perspective, but apparently by Bob immediately after Scarlett's death) imply that his wife either [[IllGirl died of illness]], was a sailor herself and died on the sea, or was murdered by Bob for [[YourCheatingHeart being disloyal]].

* YourCheatingHeart: Cheated on his wife with the treasure of Laval Ava Land, and with Corporate in the epilogue. (Meanwhile, his wife is cheating on him with ''her'' wife.)

* WarIsHell: A firm believer of this. In Section 3, she states the war "is too much."

* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Aside from the intro and epilogue, [[spoiler: Mario spends the entirety of 64 under the control of the Stellarvinden as a part of their plot to bring the War UpTo11.]]

* PoliticallyIncorrectHero: '''Holy''' '''''''SHIT''''''' does he take this trope and ''[[UpToEleven pole vault over the moon]]'' with it. Goverman is ridiculously racist, homophobic, and prejudiced against basically ''everyone'' that isn't a member of his family or part of Mario's band.

* AxCrazy: Francesco claims to be [[{{Satan}} the Devil]] and openly endorses murder.

* OddCouple: An ActualPacifist and a ruthless SatanicArchetype... not to mention [[BrotherSisterIncest that they're apparently siblings]].

* BadassGay: A powerful military leader who mainly shows interest in men, and was in a relationship with Mario at some point.

* BadassGay: He mentions a "favorite chain," and states he wanted to "be a scandal without him." Implying that he has a boyfriend that he wants to marry, which would result in a scandal if he was seen being romantic without said boyfriend.

* TheFashionista: As mentioned under BadassGay, there is a man he wants to marry. He wants Mario to find his necklace so he can emphasize his beauty for the day he plans to propose.
* GenderFlip: A slightly different example. Madame Flurrie from the original TTYD is a female, but Sir Snow is a {{Transgender}} female-to-male.

* BadassGay: The champion of Pitty Glitz, and revealed to be married to Bowser at the end of Section 6.

* BadassGay: An open homosexual who has accomplished more than a lot in his life.

* BadassGay: The chairman of a holding company that is implied to be empowering Browser's environmentalist ventures and is revealed to have married Goverman during Section 8.

* Yandere: A pretty textbook example, with love at first sight, direct threats to Mario, and many stalker-ish undertones.

A female Bob who introduces herself as being in charge of the Office of Management and Budget. She started a Bomb Uprising against the Coop Notes and was imprisoned for it.

* HopelessSuitor: A Bob in Koopa City is head-over-heels for her but she's not interested to the point she tries to get another Bob to kill him.

A mysterious group that also seems to seek a "star conference team", including Fire, Nurse, Scientist, Muscles, Star, Kevin, and Karl Marquez. [[spoiler: They've been possessing Mario throughout ''Book of Mario 64'', and are the architects behind the War]].

* IHaveManyNames: He is alternately referred to as Bob, Bobbery, Bobber, Bobby, Almirante Bob, and Big Bob.

The leader of the Shame Boy Tough Gang that makes their base in the Stupid Guy Guy Box. He's not very enthusiastic about his job, to say the least.

* ExtremeOmnivore: Besides eating ghosts, he also eats buckets of grease with no ill effects.

* AntiHero: Even though he's the chairman of the otherwise benevolent Quarter Group, He's still a troublemaker in Villa de Goomb and doesn't tolerate [[FantasticRacism "foreigns"]] entering his garden.

* GradeSchoolCEO: Despite being relatively young, He's still somehow the chairman of a holding company.
* HeroAntagonist: Despite his [[GoodIsNotNice rude personality]], He's ultimately attempting to stop Mario [[spoiler:to prevent the War from happening because "it leads to anger".]]

* LastNameBasis: He's always referred to as just "Mr. Trooper" with the exception of Goomb briefly referring to him by his first name before he shows up for the first time.

* AmbiguousSituation: [[spoiler:It's not entirely clear whether he's aware Mario is possessed by the Stellarvinden or not but He is still attempting to stop the War from occuring.]]

* ReallyGetsAround: He has relations with many people throughout his journeys, including one with [[TheStoner King K]] which results in a child.
