Tropes shared by the Skidoo World's Inhabitants
----
* AllMythsAreTrue: This especially applies to Storybook Forest and the Fairy Tale Land, but as any written and illustrated book can become a skidoo world, you can find literally any character that you can imagine.
* AnimateInanimateObject: Literally anything can be alive in any universe, from raindrops to the literal planets of the solar system, Even animals can be animated objects like the Banjo Bunny Band which are talking rabbits but also stuffed animals.
* ArtInitiatesLife: Literally anyone can create a Skidoo World like Joe and Periwinkle did by accident, and even if it was created recently, there will already be entire cultures the second you skidoo on there.
* LivingDrawing: Many of them are sentient illustrated book characters.
* {{Toontown}}: Each town in these worlds technically counts as this, but Silly Town in particular, as characters from different skidoo worlds can be found coexisting there.
* NoFocusOnHumans: Many of the cities in skidoo worlds will be inhabited exclusively by cartoons, with humans being quite rare. The exceptions are the Storybook World neighborhood and Steve's college, where humans other than the three hosts can be found.
* NoFourthWall: InUniverse. Several of the characters are characters from story books, toys, films, cartoons or simply [[LivingDrawing talking drawings]] and recognized as such, without questions, even the protagonists of the series are characters from a literal storybook and accept it without any problems.

* AdaptedOut: He is one of Blue's close friends in the original series, but never appears in the Reboot.
* AnimateInanimateObject: An animate gingerbread boy.
* AnthropomorphicFood: As his name might suggest, he is a living gingerbread cookie, shaped to look like a person.
* ClothingAppendage: He has three swirls and icing on his limbs made to simulate clothes, but which are actually part of his body.
* EdibleThemeNaming: His name is Gingerbread Boy.
* GiantFood: A cookie well above average in size, who lives in her gingerbread house.
* TheGenericGuy: Compared to Blue's other friends, there isn't much to say about him, even though he was close to the protagonists, his personality wasn't explored as much and he usually stayed in the background.
* GingerbreadHouse: Where he and his younger sister live.
* PublicDomainCharacter: As Baby Bear, he is one of the few recurring characters not to be original to the series, but rather a public domain fairy tale character, funny enough he doesn't live in the Storybook forest like other fairy tale characters, but in a board game.
* YourSizeMayVary: In the board game he is about Steve's height, while he is around Baby Bear's height when in the Storybook World.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: The only difference between him and his sister is that she has yellow braids on her head.

!!New York!!Skidoo Worlds Characters

* AmbiguousSituation: It's not entirely clear if New York City should be the location of the "Big City" skidoo world, which is Periwinkle's old neighborhood, since Josh mentions that Rainbow Puppy lives in the big city world, while Rainbow Puppy states that she was from New York. It is worth to mention that in the times when Josh was in New York City no skidoo portal could be seen other than the Billboard that Tourbus and Skidoo Express use to move from Storybook World to New York, but in the big city several skidoo portals of different types can be observed.
* CityMouse: To Josh and Blue CountryMouse. Josh has no idea how the big city works, they are there to guide him.
* RealWorldEpisode: {{Implied|Trope}}. There are several implications that our protagonists are sentient fictional characters within the universe, with many characters openly knowing who they are, even if Josh doesn't recognize them.
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: No one seems particularly impressed by Josh's magic or talking objects, although they are occasionally impressed by Blue, everyone seems more focused on [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} Josh's]] peculiar behavior rather than the magic he brings to the world. This is {{Handwaved}} in "Rock on! Rainbow Puppy", where it is revealed that magic is relatively common in this version of New York City, even having a completely animated part of the city, meaning to them Josh's behavior was really the weirdest thing about the situation.
* WelcomeToTheBigCity: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. Although he didn't actually encounter anyone rude, or criminal behavior, Josh as a FishOutOfWater, with anxiety issues and accompanied only by his Puppy, his experience in New York City wasn't as pleasant as you'd expect from a franchise like Blue's Clues.

World's Inhabitants

* AllLovingHeroine: She is kind and well-intentioned, being quite friendly to everyone, especially her fans, taking time to please them even when she is obviously unhappy.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: {{Zigzagged}} with Blue. Although she is recognized as being more talented than Blue when it comes to skidoo, she lacks some of Blue's smart puppy tendencies, making it very difficult for her when she needs to use logic.
* AmazingTechnicolorWildlife: Taken to the extreme, as she's rainbow-colored.
* AscendedExtra: Was initially a one-off in "Our New Neighbor" as the friend Periwinkle misses, but was apparently popular enough to become a recurring character.
* BeautifulSingingVoice: She loves to sing and is known for having a great singing voice.
* BirdsOfAFeather: Professional Example. She shares many characteristics with Josh, like their attention difficulties, peculiar mannerisms and love for music, which is partially why she wants Josh to be the one who is the star of her show, as they are similar in their ways of express. This causes her to enter a short HeroicBsod in the movie when [[spoiler: Josh is unable to make it to the test on time as she sees this as a sign that her dream was probably not meant to happen]].
* BunnyEarsLawyer: She is quite dramatic, moves around bouncing, has attention problems and is a little self-centered, but she is also an incredible singer and actress, and even better when it comes to skidoo.
* CartoonCreature: Like Blue and Magenta, she's an ambiguous breed of dog, though notably has smaller ears than the two of them.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: She comes off as this when interacting with the director of her musical in the movie. Trying to convince him that Josh is better suited as a protagonist than the others because he had "dreams and a heart", which unsurprisingly isn't very convincing.
* ColorCharacter: Taken even further than the other animal characters, as she's ''Rainbow'' Puppy.
* ColorMotif: {{Downplayed}}. She [[RainbowMotif represents the entire rainbow]] and her name is [[MeaningfulName Rainbow Puppy]], but the individual color associated with her is yellow/gold, [[GoldMakesEverythingShiny which is also the color associated with skidoo portals]].
* TheDitz: Not as much as Josh, but she still has a hard time keeping her train of thought going when she's not the one in charge.
* EverythingsBetterWithRainbows: She has RainbowMotif and her skidoo skill seems to be above average.
* FemaleFelineMaleMutt: {{Inverted|Trope}}, Rainbow Puppy is a girl while her male best friend is Periwinkle the cat.
* FlatEarthAtheist: Strangely, although she is surrounded by magic and recognizes it, she does not believe in lucky charms, even though she believes in luck.
* FourLegsGoodTwoLegsBetter: Rainbow Puppy is so far the only bipedal puppy shown in the series, besides the puppies from Blue's Room and from Big City.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: She is a famous singer in the real world, apparently evolved the abilities that other puppies have and has her own dimension among all skidoo worlds, but that side of her is never explained or explored.
* HiddenDepths: "The Blue Big Derby" reveals that she has an interest in mechanics and she even helps Josh to fix Slippery's car.
* InexplicablyAwesome: Even more than Blue, since her skidoo skills can be used more times in a shorter period of time, being able to use them even in other skidoo worlds and create multiple portals at same time. Josh even seems to question how she is able to do this.
* IntellectualAnimal: As her name suggests, Rainbow Puppy is a puppy who is talented in multiple areas such as music, acting and even mechanics.
* InterclassFriendship: ImpliedTrope. It's barely visible because they live in a SugarBowl World, but she seems to be financially better off than most of the other characters as she is an InUniverse famous singer who seems to influence New York culture and has enough money to finance her own theater in the neighborhood.
* LightIsGood: She is the personification of the rainbow in the form of a dog and her Puppy magic is more luminous and colorful than Blue's, she is also an AllLovingHeroine that seems to influence the culture of her city in a positive way.
* LovableAlphaBitch: She's a rich, famous, and influential singer, but she's a lovely friend to our protagonists and Periwinkle.
* MagicIdolSinger: She is a magical puppy who can travel in space between skidoo worlds, and with magical abilities even more impressive than Blue's, who is also a famous singer and actress in the universe.
* RainbowMotif: The literal Rainbow Puppy.
* SkipOfInnocence: Her walking animation has her hopping happily with her arms behind her back, to highlight her childlike and cheerful nature.
* SpoiledSweet: Although she is a bit off-earth, she is kind-hearted and uses her wealth to fulfill her dreams and spread joy.
* TalkingAnimal: Notably the only puppy character (outside of ''Blue's Room'') able to speak; the others can only bark.
* UnseenNoMore: The first mention of her in the series was in "[[Recap/BluesCluesAndYouS1E2HappyBirthdayBlue Happy Birthday, Blue]]", the second episode of the reboot in chronological order, where a stuffie themed after her is seen in the Present Store that Josh encourages the viewer to choose as a birthday present for Blue, three seasons later she made her official debut in "Our New Neighbor" as Periwinkle’s best friend from his old neighborhood.
* UpperClassTwit: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. She is implied to be rich and although Rainbow Puppy isn't stupid and is good at many things, solving mysteries isn't one of them. While Blue seems to be one step ahead when you find her in difficult situations, Rainbow Puppy will be just as confused as Josh when she finds herself in a situation where she has to use logic.
* VagueAge: Although she is called a "puppy", she has an adult voice, does not go to school, manages her own money, can travel alone, use tools, among other "grown up" things implying that she is older than the other puppies.

Some objects Josh accidentally brought to life on his visit to New York City. There are several, but the three most prominent are NYC Mailbox, Mr. Trashcan and a Cup of Coffee.
----
* AnimateInanimateObject: They are all objects that Josh accidentally brought to life. The list starts with a mailbox, a bottle of mustard, a trash can, a coffee cup, a salt and pepper shaker, some singing flowers, and dancing trees.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: The Trashcan, the coffee cup and the NYC Mailbox become eternally loyal to Josh after he accidentally brings them to life by being nice to them. Following him all over New York City for the sole purpose of thanking him for it.
* EdibleThemeNaming: Miss Mustard and the Coffee Cup naturally.
* MistakenIdentity: The salt and pepper shakers that Josh momentarily believes are Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper. Funny enough immediately after Josh realizes they aren't his friends they become NYC versions of them.
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: While Josh is treated as crazy for interacting with inanimate objects before they come to life, the sentient objects themselves don't seem to draw much attention as they walk freely around the city. This is justified in "Rock On! Rainbow Puppy" which confirms that Rainbow Puppy originates from New York City, and that the city has at least [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything one entire animated neighborhood similar to Storybook World, with non-human citizens]], making this version of New York City at least partially magical before Josh even sets foot there. Which means that citizens are already at least a little used to this type of situation.
* WiseTree: The two trees that guide Josh to the last clue and remind him and Blue that they have little time.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: While the main three are shown fairly frequently throughout the film and Ms Mustard is shown with her owner in the scene where Steve and Joe discuss, the salt and pepper shakers are never shown again nor are recognized as existing by any of the characters.

* FurryReminder: Well, animate object reminder. She appears to be alive and do things that ordinary cars/buses cannot do, but if she tries too hard her mechanisms may malfunction, as seen in "Hola Mexico City!"
* GentleGiant: She's a bus, so big she makes Josh and Miranda look tiny, and she's superfriendly and cooperative.
* {{Keet}}: She is so cheerful that she can occasionally burn out her engine with the force of her joy. Surprisingly this doesn't hurt her, and she is just unable to drive.
* MagicBus: A tour bus that can talk and travel between worlds.
* PimpedOutCar: She is an extremely cool bus, with personalized decorations with stars and rainbows, which make her stand out wherever she goes.
* PlatinumMakesEverythingShinier: Her color motif is silver and platinum, and she is much better at her job than the golden skidoo express.
* RainbowMotif: As expected, she's is themed around the puppy that represents the rainbow.

!!New York
[[folder: In General]]
Tropes shared among * AmbiguousSituation: It's not entirely clear if New York City should be the protagonists' family members.location of the "Big City" skidoo world, which is Periwinkle's old neighborhood, since Josh mentions that Rainbow Puppy lives in the big city world, while Rainbow Puppy states that she was from New York.

->'''Voice:''' Brianna Bryan
A puppy who lives in New York City, where Periwinkle moved from. Unlike Blue and Magenta, she is bipedal and able to speak normally. Only appears in the reboot.

* BigOlEyebrows: The main characters’ grandfathers will usually have thicker eyebrows than usual.
* ItRunsInTheFamily: Whatever the main characters were talented at, typically the family will likely share the same talent or interest.
* SharedFamilyQuirks: In most cases, their family members will share the same peculiarities, even if on different levels, Steve's grandmother always wears green stripes like her grandson, and act like TheGadfly like Joe, Lola sings at random moments like Josh and so on.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: The animated characters look a lot like the protagonists that they should be related to, to the point where they look almost [[PaletteSwap recolors]]. The exception is the grandfather's clock, which although not so similar, still has the same color palette as his granddaughter's.

to:

* BigOlEyebrows: The main characters’ grandfathers will usually have thicker eyebrows AllLovingHeroine: She is kind and well-intentioned, being quite friendly to everyone, especially her fans, taking time to please them even when she is obviously unhappy.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: {{Zigzagged}} with Blue. Although she is recognized as being more talented
than usual.Blue when it comes to skidoo, she lacks some of Blue's smart puppy tendencies, making it very difficult for her when she needs to use logic.
* AmazingTechnicolorWildlife: Taken to the extreme, as she's rainbow-colored.
* AscendedExtra: Was initially a one-off in "Our New Neighbor" as the friend Periwinkle misses, but was apparently popular enough to become a recurring character.

* ItRunsInTheFamily: Whatever the main characters were talented at, typically the family will likely share the same talent or interest.
BeautifulSingingVoice: She loves to sing and is known for having a great singing voice.
* SharedFamilyQuirks: In most cases, BirdsOfAFeather: Professional Example. She shares many characteristics with Josh, like their family members will share the same peculiarities, even if on different levels, Steve's grandmother always wears green stripes like her grandson, attention difficulties, peculiar mannerisms and act like TheGadfly like Joe, Lola sings at random moments like love for music, which is partially why she wants Josh and so on.to be the one who is the star of her show, as they are similar in their ways of express. This causes her to enter a short HeroicBsod in the movie when [[spoiler: Josh is unable to make it to the test on time as she sees this as a sign that her dream was probably not meant to happen]].
* StrongFamilyResemblance: The animated BunnyEarsLawyer: She is quite dramatic, moves around bouncing, has attention problems and is a little self-centered, but she is also an incredible singer and actress, and even better when it comes to skidoo.
It's barely visible because they live in a SugarBowl World, but she seems to be financially better off than most of the other
characters look a lot like as she is an InUniverse famous singer who seems to influence New York culture and has enough money to finance her own theater in the neighborhood.
* LightIsGood: She is the personification of the rainbow in the form of a dog and her Puppy magic is more luminous and colorful than Blue's, she is also an AllLovingHeroine that seems to influence the culture of her city in a positive way.
* LovableAlphaBitch: She's a rich, famous, and influential singer, but she's a lovely friend to our
protagonists that they should be related to, to and Periwinkle.
* MagicIdolSinger: She is a magical puppy who can travel in space between skidoo worlds, and with magical abilities even more impressive than Blue's, who is also a famous singer and actress in
the point universe.
* UnseenNoMore: The first mention of her in the series was in "[[Recap/BluesCluesAndYouS1E2HappyBirthdayBlue Happy Birthday, Blue]]", the second episode of the reboot in chronological order,
where they look almost [[PaletteSwap recolors]]. The exception a stuffie themed after her is seen in the grandfather's clock, which Present Store that Josh encourages the viewer to choose as a birthday present for Blue, three seasons later she made her official debut in "Our New Neighbor" as Periwinkle’s best friend from his old neighborhood.
* UpperClassTwit: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. She is implied to be rich and
although Rainbow Puppy isn't stupid and is good at many things, solving mysteries isn't one of them. While Blue seems to be one step ahead when you find her in difficult situations, Rainbow Puppy will be just as confused as Josh when she finds herself in a situation where she has to use logic.
* VagueAge: Although she is called a "puppy", she has an adult voice, does
not so similar, still has go to school, manages her own money, can travel alone, use tools, among other "grown up" things implying that she is older than the same color palette as his granddaughter's. other puppies.

* ClashingCousins: {{Downplayed}}. Slippery has a one-sided rivalry with him, but Slick never notices, only thinking they are in friendly competition.
* DelinquentHair: Although not actually a delinquent, his "hair" is meant to resemble a [[GreaserDelinquents Greaser]].
* GreaserDelinquents: His design was created to project this trope, being a super fast and arrogant racer with a giant pompadour (made out of toothpaste) that he makes a point of combing whenever he's trying to look cool.

* NiceGuy: Arrogance aside, Slick is genuinely a friendly guy who just wants to have a good time competing with his cousin. He also seems quite willing to help the members of the yellow house, at the cost of his own comfort, even though he doesn't live there himself.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: {{Downplayed}}. He's the manly man for Slippery sensitive guy. Slick is designed to look like a delinquent driver, is quite confident of his abilities, and acts more arrogantly, meanwhile, Slippery is more sensitive and emotional, with little confidence but a lot of kindness in his heart.

!!New York
[[folder: General]]

A puppy who lives in New York City, where Periwinkle moved from. Unlike Blue and Magenta, she is bipedal and able to speak normally. Only appears in the reboot.
----
* AllLovingHeroine: She is kind and well-intentioned, being quite friendly to everyone, especially her fans, taking time to please them even when she is obviously unhappy.

* CloudcuckoolandersMinder: For a moment he is that to Josh, though in a kinder way than usual. He explains that one of Josh's problems is how he is so rushed that he seems to ignore minor details, which Josh seems to understand later in the film.

* SmallRoleBigImpact: He's only on screen for a few minutes, but his advice is part of what helps pull Josh out of his HeroicBsod during the last few moments of the movie.
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: While other human characters seem confused, excited, or at least recognizing Blue in some way, he doesn't show any reaction when he sees the blue puppy getting into his car. * AnimateInanimateObject: They are all objects that Josh accidentally brought to life. The list starts with a mailbox, a bottle of mustard, a trash can, a coffee cup, a salt and pepper shaker, some singing flowers, and dancing trees.

!!Skidoo Worlds Characters
[[folder: General]]

->'''Voices:''' Mia Swami-Nathan (Red), ??? (Vermillion, Marigold), Creator/MeeshaContreras (Orange, Aquamarine), Jacob Soley (Yellow), Logan Nicholson (Chartreuse, Purple), Lucas Nguyen (Green), Jessica Du (Blue, Violet, Magenta) (''Blue's Clues & You!'' version)

A group of sentient, talking color drops that communicate with Joe (Josh in the reboot's version) and Blue. They lived in a book about colors in the original, but they live in an app in Josh's notebook tablet in the reboot. They only appear in "Colors Everywhere" and its remake, "Colors Everywhere with Blue".
----
* AdaptationalGenderIdentity: Some of the colors' genders changed in the reboot.
* AnimateInanimateObject: They are talking color drops.
* FusionDance: In order to make a secondary (like orange, green, and purple) or tertiary color (like vermillion, marigold, charteuse, aquamarine, violet, and magenta), two of the colors fuse with each other.
* SignificantNameOverlap: Some of the colors have the same name as other characters, including Orange (sharing the same name as Orange Kitten), Green (sharing the same name as Green Puppy), Blue (sharing the same name as Blue Puppy), Purple (sharing the same name as Purple Kangaroo), Magenta (sharing the same name as Magenta Puppy), and Marigold (sharing the same name as Miss Marigold)
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: To the sentient paint drops in the episode "Adventures in Art".

A sentient gingerbread cookie who lives in a [[LevelAte sweet themed board game]] with his sister
----
* AdaptedOut: He is one of Blue's close friends in the original series, but never appears in the Reboot.

The gentle literal personification of our solar system's star. The sun is a good teacher about space matters and will always be willing to teach the Hosts about what happens in our solar system.

* CoolShades: Both versions wear sunglasses that help them look friendly.
* GentleGiant: A big, friendly star who amiably explains to the hosts how things work in space.
* LightIsGood: The literal personification of the sun who is more than happy to help people in doubt over some celestial event.
* RoundHippieShades: Their star sunglasses seem to have been inspired by this trope.
* TheFaceOfTheSun: Naturally.

* AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal: He wears glasses, a vest, a bow tie, and a kippah.
* AmbiguousSituation: The dialogue implies that before moving with Aly into the neighborhood, Peri used to live with him in the big city. The reason Periwinkle moved and why his grandfather did not go with them is unclear.
* BespectacledCutie: An adorable elderly cat wearing glasses
* CuteKitten: Older than the other cats in the series, but still adorable.
* ColorCharacter: An elderly light mauve cat.
* DotingGrandparent: To his grandson Periwinkle.
* MiniatureSeniorCitizens: He is similar in height to his grandson, even though he is years older. {{Handwaved}} because he's an anthropomorphic cat so he probably wouldn't grow any bigger than a cat would.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: Mauve is almost an older recolour of his grandson with the most visible differences being his color, facial hair and the extra stripes. He even has the same spot on his paw that his grandson has.

* TheAgeless: {{Handwaved}} Since Boo is a ghost he probably can't age.
* BedsheetGhost: His normal form is a transparent white ghost, although in the Halloween episodes he is seen wearing a leaf sack costume.
* DudeLooksLikeALady: You'd be forgiven for thinking that Boo is actually a ghost girl, with even some dubs accidentally referring to him in the feminine.
* FriendlyGhost: Although Steve and Blue were originally scared of him, they quickly learned that he was a NiceGuy and just as scared as they were.
* HorrifyingTheHorror: Boo is a ghost, who originally caused fear in Steve and Blue, but is so easily scared that our protagonists just can't help but help him.
* LovableCoward: Like Josh, he is easily scared, but is a sweet boy and a good friend of our protagonists.
* MeaningfulName: "Boo" is an exclamation meant to surprise someone and every time he hears his own name he has exactly that reaction.
* SillySpook: Steve seems to see him as this after spending some time with him, seeming to find his overreaction less scary or surprising and more funny.

* EverythingsBetterWithRainbows: She is Rainbow Puppy's personal bus, and is therefore themed around rainbows.
* InexplicablyAwesome: Like Jingles and the Skidoo Express, she can skidoo.
* InterspeciesFriendship: She is good friends with Rainbow Puppy, Blue (puppies/dogs), and Miranda and Josh (humans), and she's a talking bus.
* FlyingCar: Like Skidoo Express, when she skidoo she can fly.
* SentientVehicle: A sentient car.
* SwirlyEnergyThingy: When she skidoo she leaves a trail of rainbow swirls behind. Its wheels also have a rainbow swirls theme.
