* ForWantOfANail:
** During its fight with Rotator, a weapon-on-weapon strike not only destroyed Rotator's high spinning bar, but it also knocked one of the bludgeons off of the bar Tombstone was using. This resulted in an unbalanced spinning bar which led to Tombstone shaking violently. And when Rotator pushed Tombstone into the corner, culminating in Tombstone slamming its weapon bar into the wall, it not only broke the the weapon motor, but the motor also caught fire due to a short caused by the shaking, made worse with the loose batteries also caused by the shaking. This led to Tombstone moving around while burning from the inside out for more than 90 seconds until it expired in the middle of the Battlebox floor, getting counted out with 2 seconds to spare.
** It turns out that after his match against Gruff, the blade used had some noticeable chipping in one area near the hub. This likely was a sign of a fatigue crack developing in the blade itself. This blade would then be used in the semis against Bite Force, leading to the blade snapping in two after two hits and knocking Tombstone out in the process. When Kenny Florian is examining the blade after the match, you can see that the break is clean, a clear sign of metal fatigue.

Weapon Of Choice is now a disambig and examples that can't be moved are being cut.

* WeaponOfChoice: Drum spinners. He explains his reasons in incredible detail in his guidebook to combat robots.

* WeaponOfChoice: This phrase was used word-for-word in Jenny's narration to describe Brian Nave and his preference for full-body spinners. He says it's because this class of bots can use their weapons as armor, allowing him to be more efficient with weight distribution.

* WeaponOfChoice: Caustic Creations has, so far, only entered drum spinners to [=BattleBots=].

* WeaponOfChoice: Defied. Team Bad Kitty specializes in vertical disk spinners with wedges, a design that has become very popular in recent years. Mad Catter, on the other hand, is a hammerbot.

Spiritual Successor is a trope about a work generally being seen as resembling another work. Specific elements should go to Shout Out, Expy or other tropes.

* SpiritualSuccessor: To Splatter, Team Fast Electric Robots' previous robot.

* SpiritualSuccessor: To S.O.B., which pioneered the "saw and dustpan" design that [=SawBlaze=] is a refinement of.

* SpiritualSuccessor: It's a better version of 2018's Lock-Jaw, but it also shares many similarities with Mutant Robots' Root Canal.

* SpiritualSuccessor: To Red Square, an earlier work of Team Whyachi with a very similar shape and weapon. Jake is telling the truth when he said this is their first hydraulic flipper though, as Red Square was spring-loaded, much like Warrior Dragon.

* SpiritualSuccessor: Black Dragon is a bigger version of Federal MT, a lightweight robot they use in various other competitions.

* {{Expy}}: Of Gabriel on ''Series/RobotWars''. It follows its successor more closely in the fight against Son of Whyachi, as it uses smaller but solid wheels similar in appearance to Gabriel's.

* {{Expy}}: To the Barber-Ous series in ''Series/RobotWars''.

* SpiritualSuccessor: To the Barber-Ous series in ''Series/RobotWars''.

* SpiritualSuccessor: To Moebius, sharing its color scheme, primary weapon type, and goth costuming for its team. The only thing more they need to do is carry this bot out of a coffin.

* SpiritualSuccessor: To the middleweight version of Deep Six Dustin has used in the past in the non-televised events.

* SpiritualSuccessor: To Robotic Death Company's previous full-body spinners Megabyte and Invader.

* {{Expy}}: To Bucky the Robot in ''Series/RobotWars'', another pneumatically powered crusher.

* SpiritualSuccessor: The same as it was last year:
** To Tentoumushi (and Mega Tento by extension), Kraken can capture opponents and damage them while holding them in place.
** To Bucky the Robot in ''Series/RobotWars'', another pneumatically powered crusher.

* SpiritualSuccessor: To HUGE, though HUGE is also in this competition. Mammoth took HUGE's gimmick of towering over its competitors and took it up a notch.

* SpiritualSuccessor: To Ringmaster in 2016, which Hannah also owned and drove and used a large horizontal spinner for a weapon.

* SpiritualSuccessor: To front-hinged flippers such as Firestorm from ''Robot Wars''.

* SpiritualSuccessor: Very similar in concept to some versions of Polar Vortex, which also used a diagonal saw.
