David Zavimbe was a child soldier from the fictional city of Tinasha whose parents both died of AIDS. Once Bruce Wayne announced the Batman, Incorporated initiative, David became one of his hand-picked recruits.
Batwing first debuted in 2011, with the fifth issue of the first volume of Batman, Incorporated.
