* ActuallyAGoodIdea: After defeating the undead knights of the Scourge in chapter 69, Naofumi, Richard, and Jaune are left with the task of the weapons the fallen knights once held. They all discuss what options they should do and each time Naofumi brings up a potential solution, Richard and Jaune shut it down with the flaws it brings. Pressured as to what they should do with the weapons, Naofumi brings up that Jaune and Richard carry the weapons, and if the worst scenario comes, then Naofumi can absorb it. In response to Naofumi's answer, Richard and Jaune nod in agreement that it best settles the problem.

** He rants at the Unspeakables to not let him be brought over to Faubley, since the amount of enemies he's had to face till chapter 139 is too much for him. Surprisingly for him, Naofumi's rage and decision to stay in Melromarc is given additional support by Reiner as the best option available, due to acknowledging that Faubley's game of thrones may prove too intense for Naofumi to survive in.

* AnOfferYouCantRefuse: Being wary of the Unspeakables' motives to take him to Faubley as the main purpose of their rescue operation in chapter 138, Naofumi questions them as to what would happen if he were to reject their offer. Though one of the Unspeakables tries to assures Naofumi that his presence will be welcoming in Faubley and that a rejection would be understandable, Malty on the other hand is reluctant to believe such a claim knowing the type of OpportunisticBastard King Egbert is.
-->'''Naofumi:''' Let me guess. You'll have me BoundAndGagged, and take me back to Faubley in a [[BagOfKidnapping burlap sack]] if I refuse your offer. That's what one of those Siltvelt Raven Lords did.
-->'''Unspeakable Leader:''' Then it will be my pleasure to prove we at Noble Faubley are not uncouth animals who impose our will on others with raw power. You will be free to leave if you reject our king's offer, Master Shield Hero.
-->'''Malty's Thoughts:''' (Mein has to fight back her urge to snort at the claim of the Unspeakable leader. Right... Faubley, particularly its king, is so noble that it forced mother to marry her to her lecherous pig of an uncle who is a few decades older than her.)

* BagOfKidnapping: Lampshaded. One of the possible outcomes Naofumi sarcastically expects in chapter 138 if he were to reject the Unspeakables' offer to come to Faubley is that they will stuff him inside of a sack to kidnap him to their desired location.

* BoundAndGagged: To stop Consevatie from further threatening the lives of everyone with slave seals, while also not using any lethal attacks to prevent a possible DeadMansSwitch, Naofumi suggests in chapter 130 to gag him as a means for Consevatie to be neutralized as a threat.

** He and Mein both speak out their BigWhat at the same time to express surprise at the Female Titan saving them from Bartfort's men, instead of getting crushed like what they had first thought in chapter 138.

* SpeakInUnison: Played for Laughs. Witnessing Anne and Bertholdt transform into giant titans in chapter 137, Naofumi suddenly yells them out to be Titan Shifters from ''Manga/AttackOnTitan'', just like Bartfort coming to agree with him on the same lines.
-->'''Naofumi and Bartfort:''' Are you shitting me! ''Titan Shifters?

* DeerInTheHeadlights: Watching Anne and Bertholdt transform into actual Titans just like their fictional variants in ''Manga/AttackOnTitan'', Naofumi is left gawking at their sight, until Mein has to come warn him in chapter 138 to start running away from the current threat they are not handled to deal with.
