* RageAgainstTheReflection: Arpeggio, Octavia's father, once hit a mirror so hard that he had to get medical attention to clean up all the cuts that the broken shards left on him.

* RobotMe: Vinylbot, a gift from Brainy Twilight to Vinyl Scratch, is basically Vinyl with a "mantis ninja" mode and fewer reasons to tone down how silly she can act.

* SanitySlippage: Trixie undergoes this when faced with extended interaction with Pinkie Pie. It got to the point where she was obsessed with hiding from Pinkie Pie, even going as far as to try warding her cart so Pinkie Pie won't show up and refusing to tell what town she's in.

* SelectiveObliviousness: Fluttershy thought that Big Mac merely wanted to take their relationship slowly, while Big Mac had been trying to break up with her. It was partly due to her misinterpreting his gestures, and the fact that Big Mac did not wish to hurt her feelings by outright telling her his own feelings.

* SmallNameBigEgo: The Great And Powerful Trixie is still convinced that she's an excellent showmare, even after Gilda, Bonbon, and Brainy Twilight all work together to muck up one of her shows.
* TheSnarkKnight: Carrot Top is shaping up to be this.

* SophisticatedAsHell: Octavia (who is prim and proper despite a rural upbringing) reading comics such as Jailbreak (which features such acts as public urination) leads to the "Slang delivered innocuously" version of this trope.
* SplitPersonality: The truth of the relationship between Octavia and Philly.
** LiteralSplitPersonality: Brainy Twilight offering to help with their situation led to this, though Octavia is hesitant to share details about the process.
* TheSpock[=/=]TheMcCoy: Trixie manages to fill in both of these roles at the same time, being logical and sane while being hammy and theatrical.
* SpoiledBrat: Powderfluff is spoiled by her parents and mercilessly mocked by... pretty much everyone else. The result is not very pretty.
* StepfordSnarker: Oh, Carrot Top...
* SurveillanceDrone: Elytron, [[spoiler:Carapace]]'s built-in drone with artificial intelligence.

* TeamMom: Fluttershy, apparently, as she's defended her friends from anons and delivered the ascended fanboy to a hospital.

* TomeOfEldritchLore: The book on the Shadowbolts. It apparently added and removed itself to the library's catalog, has knowledge of ponies that may never have existed, and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking draws a dick on Lightning Dust]].

* UnstoppableRage: Octavia has some anger issues and is seeing a therapist about them. This has led to completely trashing an event after her self-loathing father told her that nobody really cared about her music (which led to her ensemble urging her to take a sabbatical), and threatening to smash a cello into someone's face when Lyra was being criticized for poorly dealing with Bonbon's affections (and then actually doing so later...to a rather large dragon).
* UnreliableNarrator: It's sometimes hard to tell when Trixie's telling the truth.

* YouAreNotAlone: The reason why Octavia's family spends the entire Father's Day weekend together is to remind the self-loathing Arpeggio about this.
* YouCantFightFate: If her comments about are any indication, Lyra is certainly a strong believer in this.

* {{Adorkable}}: Snowberry the best assistant ever, from Shining Armor's blog.

* ApologisesALot: Concerto, a performer in Octavia's ensemble.

* TheAtoner: Trixie feels guilt over her past actions despite her persisting ego, and often sympathizes with Katia (from ''Prequel'') trying to recover after little mistakes seem to ruin her life.

* AttentionWhore: Symphony, from Octavia's ensemble. She claims to not have ego problems, but she was eager to start getting mail after becoming involved with Octavia's blog.

* BewareTheSillyOnes: Pokey Pierce, the cheerful CloudCuckooLander, has revealed that in the Reading Rainbowverse his special talent is [[spoiler:voodoo magic]].
* [[BigBrotherInstinct Big Sister Instinct]]: When describing their childhood, Octavia's 'sister' Philly claims to have always been there to protect her.

* ChivalrousPervert: Thunderlane is constantly flirting with mares. However, he always stops if they make it clear they're not interested or if a friend is interested in them.
* ClockKing: Perry Pierce, Pokey Pierce's twin brother.
* ClockworkCreature: Octavia was given a clockwork butterfly (later named Punk) by Priddy Pinkie after an incident involving a clockwork scorpion named Pendulum.
* CloudCuckooLander: Pokey Pierce, when answering asks on Big Macintosh's blog, came across as one of these. He believed that Big Macintosh's computer could grant wishes and didn't seem to understand what the keyboard was for.

* DelusionsOfDoghood: Pokey Pierce's sister Screw Loose suffers from this, and has convinced herself that she is a "Beta" in Nurse Redheart's pack.

* EldritchAbomination: Apparently the Shadowbolts, whose posts are only seen by Lightning Dust and out of universe characters. They're not... actually all that intimidating though.
* {{Expy}}: Octy's sister Philharmonica (But please, just call her Philly. That's what everyone does.) seems to be heavily inspired by [[Videogame/DeadlyPremonition Francis York Morgan]].

* FunetikAksent: Big Mac types using one of these.

* GenkiGirl: Vinyl Scratch has just as much energy as Pinkie Pie at times.

* HappilyMarried: After an accidental proposal led to an actual proposal, and then after living together for a few months while preparing for the big event, Vinyl Scratch and Octavia became this on September 7, 2013.

* HeterosexualLifePartners: Symphony believes that she has this relationship with Octavia. With Philly...[[IfItsYouItsOkay there are hints of something else]].

* HonorBeforeReason: Symphony tends to let her emotions drive her even after considering the consequences, such as when she challenged Carapace for the position of Octavia's children's Godmother. They did reach a compromise, though.
* HopelessWithTech: Octavia could be considered a Type 2, as she claims to have rarely used a computer before starting her blog and is unskilled with various other forms of technology, but seems to be adapting to tumblr with the help of her friends.

* InLoveWithLove: [[spoiler:From Lyra's perspective, Bonbon cared more about their relationship being romantic than Lyra herself]].

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Gilda may not have a high tolerance for dweebs that inquire about her personal life, but she will quickly come to the aid of friends like Rainbow Dash if needed.

* KillerGM: Carapace and her obsession with ''flaming spike traps''! ...Though when she holds her first session with her new, inexperienced pony friends, she is actually quite fair.

* MustHaveCaffeine: Snowberry likes coffee, and considers sleeping for eight hours a rare event.

* NewAgeRetroHippie: Fluttershy, of all ponies, used to be one of these. She's very embarrassed about it especially since her dabbling in drugs left her with extended estrus syndrome.

* ObliviousToLove: Thunderlane never seems to get Zecora's very blatant euphemisms. The readers get so frustrated with this, one of them goes to another pony and asks her to tell Zecora to stop using euphemisms and just flat out say it. He did understand Princess Luna's intentions, however, and has so far been able to maintain an actual relationship with her.

* [[OnlySaneMan Only Sane Mare]]: Trixie likes to think of herself as this when comparing herself to what usually happens in Ponyville.

* {{Crossover}}: ''[[http://askfacebookderpy.tumblr.com/ Ask Facebook Derpy]]'' is connected to the Reading Rainbowverse, and the 'Reads Everything' blog may (have originally) just be an alternate account by the same pony. However, Facebook Derpy is also connected to the ''Ask Cyberbully Fluttershy'' universe despite it being mutually exclusive, with no better explanation than Derpy being...Derpy.

Octavia breaks down sobbing as Vinyl Scratch tries to conduct a search party. However, the search party was unsuccessful. Lyra turned up at Octoscratch Mansion, but Carrot Top was still not able to be found. This causes Vinyl Scratch to go into depression and get really drunk.]]

* HeroicBSOD: Usually happens when one character discovers that somepony they love doesn't love them back... or decided to traipse across the multiverse.

* DisabledLoveInterest: Gilda is in a relationship with a mare named Galaxy, who literally has no eyes.

* EdibleAmmunition: Bonbon and Pinkie engage in anime-style food fights. Fluttershy lampshades it by saying that duels of this nature are common since it would not be honorable to die off the battlefield.

* InterspeciesRomance: As per the norm, Gilda with a pony. Specifically an eyeless unicorn named Galaxy. She may have also had a one-night stand with Zecora while drunk, but what actually happened that night has not been fully revealed.

* MistakenForCheating: Several readers and ponies have accused Big Macintosh of cheating on Fluttershy with Carapace. Mac did not consider himself to really be dating Fluttershy in the first place, and had in fact been trying to let her down gently.

* ShippingGoggles: In-Universe; both various readers and the ponies in the community convinced themselves that Big Mac and Carapace's friendship was more than it seemed, which causeed strife when they try to force them together. Though they ''do'' end up together later on...
