** Kaede Kayano hates [[BuxomIsBetter big boobs]], and it's usually PlayedForLaughs. Though there are certain exceptions.

** Don't badmouth the people in Sei's charge. Seriously, don't.

* ''LightNovel/ACertainMagicalIndex:''
** One played for laughs: don't steal MISAKA 10032's nightvision goggles. She's got an assault rifle in her schoolbag and unless the thief is [[HiveQueen Last Order]], she WILL shoot to kill.
** And the original Misaka Mikoto has a few as well. On the comedic side, we have Kuroko trying to peek at her panties and Touma continuously defeating her in fair fights.
** Touma's entire class has one: making their teacher Komoe cry. For example, all of them were unmotivated and unwilling during the athletics festival... until they overheard another teacher insulting Komoe and calling her school and students trash. They went on to ''cream'' that teacher's class, despite being massively outmatched in esper powers. Komoe herself doesn't understand why they're pushing themselves so hard.
** Seiri Fukiyose does not like it when people complain about bad luck. She works hard and encourages others to do the same. To her, luck is just a loser's excuse. Ironically, she has no idea that Touma's bad luck is ''real''.
** Vento of the Front hates science so much that in the novels, she snaps at Touma for simply trying to apply fluid mechanics to her wind projectiles.
** In ''Anime/ACertainMagicalIndexMiracleOfEndymion'', Shutaura Sequenzia lost her father in a plane crash that only killed him, but the event was declared a miracle for the minimal loss of life. For this reason, she doesn't believe in miracles and if anyone even mentions the word "miracle", she'll get pissed off and go on long rants that miracles are not real.
** A [[AudioPlay Radio Drama]] exclusive character, Terunoa, absolutely hates people who don't believe in magic, to the point that she attempts to use magic to destroy Academy City with an earthquake because the inhabitants believe in science instead of magic.
* ''LightNovel/AestheticaOfARogueHero'': Akatsuki Ousawa absolutely cannot stand it when a girl is crying. Whenever a girl sheds a tear, even if he was nowhere in the area, he'll practically teleport to the girl and then beat the crap out of/destroy whatever it was that made her cry. He also hates it when his father is brought up.

* ''LightNovel/ArifuretaFromCommonplaceToWorldsStrongest'': Hajime can put up with being cursed, but if you so much as lay a finger on his companions, you ''will'' learn a whole new meaning to the words "fear" and "pain".
** Yue does ''not'' take kindly to people suggesting that she's lacking in the chest department.

This, for one, would imply that there is or was someone in the universe more awesome than Claire himself, [[ThereCanBeOnlyOne and that thought simply cannot be tolerated]].

* ''LightNovel/BeingAbleToEditSkillsInAnotherWorldIGainedOpWaifus'':
** Nagi does ''not'' take kindly to over-entitled "nobles" who abuse their subordinates. When he witnesses a noble use her slaves as cannon fodder to investigate a dangerous ruin, he uses contract magic to force her to treat her subordinates fairly... and inflict her with bed-wetting terror if she ever considers visiting that particular ruin again.
** The Leviathan does ''not'' like it when people enter its territory, nor does it like fire or loud noises. Rita's subordinates push all three buttons when they set up camp near the lake where the Leviathan is hiding.

* ''LightNovel/BlackSummoner'': Do NOT lay your hands on one of Kelvin's girls.

* Several characters in LightNovel/DidntISayToMakeMyAbilitiesAverageInTheNextLife have these:
** Pauline does not tolerate dirty merchants or bad financial planning.
** Reina doesn't take kindly to being mistaken for a child.
** Mavis won't sit still while her skill with a sword is questioned.
** Mile will rant until she's hoarse if she spots a DeusExMachina or anything else she considers "sloppy writing".

* Kei and Yuri have only ''one'' official code name: The LovelyAngels. Calling them the ''LightNovel/DirtyPair'' [[EmbarrassingNickname to their faces]] -- or suggesting that two college-age girls can't be all ''that'' dangerous -- will earn you a punch in the face.

* ''LightNovel/{{Durarara}}'':
** Do NOT test Shizuo Heiwajima's patience. Just...don't. He punched a guy so hard that the poor guy's clothes flew off as he was launched about 20 feet into the air. It gets even worse if you're being nosy about his adored brother Kasuka, or if you manage to rip the [[WaistcoatOfStyle bartender waistcoat]] that said brother gave him. Mentioning Izaya is another great way to ask for an early death. Vending machines will fly.
** If you like being alive, don't touch Shinra. If Celty doesn't get you, [[spoiler: Izaya]] will. And you will regret it forever. Just ask [[spoiler: Nakura]].

** [[LightNovel/FullMetalPanic The core series]] has a much more serious example: [[spoiler:BigBad Leonard Testarossa absolutely despises his mother because, among other things, he walked in on her having an affair when he was a child, which resulted in his becoming TheUnfavorite. Even obliquely referencing this is enough to make him lose his cool: during the final battle, Sousuke says "Tessa[[note]]Leonard's sister and Sousuke's commanding officer[[/note]] told me to remind you of 'What she did'", and even though Sousuke himself doesn't understand what it means, it succeeds in unnerving Leonard completely.]]

* ''LightNovel/TheGardenOfSinners'': Call Touko Aozaki "Dirty Red" and "Dirty Red" shall become an appropriate nickname for ''you!'' She kills anybody who calls her that, as Alba from the fifth movie learns the hard way. The reason why she hates that term is that it was used to mock her and say she was inferior to her red-headed sister Aoko Aozaki, with whom she has a bitter rivalry.

* ''LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya'': Don't look up Mikuru's skirt, or Haruhi will be ''very'' pissed off with you, never mind that it may have been an accident. Haruhi also hates it when people are late to meetings.

* ''LightNovel/HighSchoolDXD'':
** [[LovableSexManiac Issei Hyoudou]] has two PlayedForLaughs. If anyone does anything to diminish the sex appeal of a woman, he will end them. For example, when Azazel suggested Vali Lucifer might use his Divine Dividing ability to shrink all his girlfriend's breasts (Vali wasn't planning to), Issei exploded with rage and beat the shit out of Vali. Later, when Issei has to fight Coriana Andrealphus, she tries to distract him with a striptease. At first, he is paralyzed with lust and refuses to attack her, but when she starts to pull her panties off, he furiously rants that a stripper must always pull their bra off first and blasts her.
** When Yuuto Kiba was a child, he and several other children were put in a dangerous experiment involving Holy Swords that resulted in many of their deaths. This experience led to him having a hatred of Holy Swords, especially Excalibur. Whenever he sees a Holy Sword, he goes completely berserk and ignores everyone around him to make a beeline for the sword to try to destroy it. Eventually, his friends help him get over his hatred and he is able to accept some of his allies wielding Holy Swords.

* ''LightNovel/IBecameTheDemonLordSoICreatedADungeon'': Do ''NOT'' threaten the women in Yuki's sphere of influence. He knows that they can take care of themselves, but that won't stop him from scattering your entrails to the four corners of the world.

* In ''LightNovel/InvadersOfTheRokujyouma'', Ruth goes ''ballistic'' at the sight of a rhinoceros beetle, even if it's just candy that only ''looks'' like a beetle. However, her hatred is limited only to rhinoceros beetles - she doesn't mind other beetles.
** Do NOT hurt those dear to Koutarou if you value your life.
** Do NOT damage Room 106 unless you WANT Shizuka mad at you.
** Do NOT compare Lord Vandarion to Maxfern.
* A few characters in ''LightNovel/IsThisAZombie'' have at least one. For example, don't casually tell anyone to go die. Eucliwood has experienced death every time she brought someone back from the dead, but fortunately, offenders have been known to merely get a slap on the wrist from her for the effort. Also, do ''not'' abuse Eucliwood's powers, or Seraphim will be so furious she'll leave her footprint on your face.

* Do not touch Takuto from ''LightNovel/MagiciansAcademy'' in an even vaguely lascivious manner when Suzuho is around, or she'll whip out her SuperpoweredEvilSide and try to beat the crap out of you (especially if your name is Tanarotte, who, to be fair, can give the punishment right back).

* ''LightNovel/MyNextLifeAsAVillainessAllRoutesLeadToDoom'': Catarina does ''not'' like it when people waste perfectly good food.

* ''LightNovel/AnObservationLogOfMyFianceeWhoCallsHerselfAVillainess'': Joana always wears a smile on her face until Cecil pokes at her over her troubled relationship with Shaun. Her mask very quickly falls through so she can yell at him.

* ''LightNovel/RebuildWorld'':
*** A more minor berserk button of Akira’s is women making passes at him, which makes him sound like a {{Tsundere}}.
** For Alpha, it’s disrespecting her sapience by doing things like comparing her to an alarm clock, or talking about getting her a RobotGirl body.
** Sheryl has the button of people disrespecting Akira, to the level of SkewedPriorities. Akira has to talk her down a few times over this.
** The ArtificialIntelligence Tsubaki is somewhat of an EtiquetteNazi.

* Lina Inverse of ''LightNovel/{{Slayers}}'' has a slew of these, and most of them serve as a base for the series' comedy. The biggest one is calling out her small bustline - Pokota calling her a demon "who spreads flatness" was enough for her to throw an amplified Dragon Slave spell at him. Along with this are not giving her food when needed, her 1,001 nicknames (and her sorcerer guild's title, "Lina the Pink"), not getting rewarded, Gourry's stupidity, calling her short...the list goes on.
** Anything in regards to Zelgadis' [[CursedWithAwesome chimeric body]] will set him off, comedic or not. [[spoiler:When he finds out from his great-grandfather that he can't get rid of it, he loses his mind]]. Alternatively, when its usefulness is pointed out, he [[{{Wangst}} gets pissy and moans]] about it.

* ''LightNovel/{{Toradora}}''':
** [[TinyTyrannicalGirl Aisaka Taiga]] has [[TheNapoleon height issues]] similar to those of [[Manga/FullmetalAlchemist Edward Elric]], and ''hates'' being called by her nickname, [[EmbarrassingNickname the "Palmtop Tiger."]]
** Yasuko is usually a cheerful, ditzy GenkiGirl. [[NotAMorningPerson Wake her up]], on the other hand...

* ''LightNovel/TrappedInADatingSimTheWorldOfOtomeGamesIsToughForMobs'':
** Luxion, the LivingShip ArtificialIntelligence who is TheRemnant of a long ago destroyed civilization, has this reaction to the existence of remnants of the AbusivePrecursors who destroyed his, spouting {{Angrish}} at their mere mention, and crushing said precursors’ OrganicTechnology with overwhelming firepower at the earliest opportunity.
** In the series’ WhatIf AlternateTimeline ''Marie Route'', Marie, being a TeamMom and ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend, goes into an UnstoppableRage at those she cares for being called ugly:
*** Firstly, when a girl tells Marie’s friend to QuitYourWhining about her boyfriend being killed, and calls Marie’s boyfriend ugly, causing her to rampage.
*** Secondly, when the A.I. Arroganz who is [[LikeASonToMe treated by Marie as her adopted son]], is called ugly along with her boyfriend, she almost rampages again, but is held down by her friends.
** Do ''not'' threaten Olivia or Leon when Angelica is around, because you'll be lucky to get away with just a broken nose.
** Do ''not'' spend main canon Marie's money without permission, or spend it on useless junk.
** Do ''not'' call Ideal a liar. In fact, don't even ''imply'' that he's a liar.
* In episode 4 of ''LightNovel/UnlimitedFafnir'', Tear gets rather upset Mitsuki insists she's a human, not a dragon. She nearly destroys the auditorium in the process.

** Gohan dislikes violence and tries to avoid conflict. Shoving a gun in his face will only cause him to flick it out of your hand and politely ask you to leave. [[PapaWolf Threaten his daughter Pan]], however, and any chance of mercy is gone.

** For Akira this has a heavy overlap with TraumaButton since he had a DarkAndTroubledPast of being betrayed and taken advantage of. Being stolen from and seeing people threatening his friends will both drive Akira into a {{Determinator}} RoaringRampageOfRevenge (or at least being talked down from one). He can go from amiable to his conversation partner being KilledMidSentence. Akira being predictable like this makes him vulnerable to FlawExploitation gambits a few times.

** Vegeta has a sore spot for any insinuation that someone is stronger than him. ''Especially'' Goku, who he calls "Kakarot" (Goku's original, Saiyan name). This is so famous that it's been called the "Goku Button" in ''WebVideo/DragonBallZAbridged.'' He shows two more in ''Super'': [[PapaWolf making his daughter cry]] will result in him going Super Saiyan Blue as a ''warning''. Hurt Bulma, and he'll skip the warning and go straight to [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown beating the shit out of you]], as Beerus found out the hard way.

** Vegeta has a sore spot for any insinuation that someone is stronger than him. ''Especially'' Goku, who he calls "Kakarot" (Goku's original, Saiyan name). This is so famous that it's been called the "Goku Button" in ''WebVideo/DragonBallZAbridged.'' He shows another one in ''Super'': [[PapaWolf making his daughter Bulla cry]] will result in him going Super Saiyan Blue as a ''warning''.

For example, when he sees Videl get brutally tortured by Spopovich, his rage builds so much that he goes Super Saiyan against his will, and almost interrupted the match until Spopovich was stopped by his comrade.

** Vegeta has a sore spot for any insinuation that someone is stronger than him. ''Especially'' Goku, who he calls "Kakarot." (Goku's original, Saiyan name)

** Most of the characters are generally well-mannered. However... don't touch [[NiceHat Vita's hat]]. Just don't. You'll live longer.

* Tokiko of ''Manga/WalkToDeath'' is practically emotionless, even when members of her family die suspiciously. However, she becomes furious when one of her classmates in middle school steals one of Tokiko's adoptive father's books, stealing the classmate's indoor shoes in retaliation and threatening to drop them off the roof if the book is not returned. When she finds out that the classmate damaged the book, she loses her temper and drops the shoes.

** Speaking of Nui, she is Ryuko's BerserkButton. Granted, [[HotBlooded Ryuko is not the calmest or nicest girl]], but [[ItsPersonalWithTheDragon she especially has it out for Nui]] given that [[spoiler:she is the one who killed Isshin.]] When Ryuko found this out, [[UnstoppableRage she went completely]] ''[[UpToEleven ballistic.]]'' [[spoiler:However, [[CurbStompBattle after finally humiliating Nui]] [[AnArmAndALeg and chopping her arms off]], Ryuko no longer sees Nui as rage-inducing as before, instead seeing her as [[NotWorthKilling a mere annoyance not worth her time]].]]

*** [[TheHero Jolyne Cujoh]] hates ''the mere mention'' of her father, [[DaddyHadAGoodReasonForAbandoningYou Jotaro]]. However, she loses this as the Part progresses.

*** He appears to [[ExploitedTrope weaponize this]] early in Part 4, when an [[AndIMustScream immobilized]] [[StarterVillain Angelo]] demands to be released [[ItMakesSenseInContext while mind-controlling a latex glove poised to snap a passing kid's neck]], Josuke responds by taking out a comb and calmly combing his hair in the middle of the chaos, and quips, "Heh! Looks like deep down, I wasn't feeling enough anger toward you," as if tempting him to badmouth his pompadour, which he does.

*** Gatta, the [[ItMakesSenseInContext cat resurrected as a plant]], has two, taking away his sunlight, and Shinobu Kawajiri, since she was the one who caused his death.

* ''Manga/KaguyaSamaLoveIsWar'': Kaguya ''despises'' people who betray her trust and will cut them out of her life without a second thought. [[spoiler:It speaks volumes that she even ''considered'' forgiving [[CoolBigSis Hayasaka]] after learning that she was TheMole.]]

** ''Never'' come between Erza and [[LostFoodGrievance strawberry cake]].

When a nice, normal character suddenly goes into a rage over a minor thing, you've hit their BerserkButton. Some of them are long enough to have their own pages:

* ''Anime/OsomatsuSan'': If you ''ever'' call Choromatsu an "Idol {{Otaku}}", congratulations; you've stepped on a landmine. Todomatsu learned this the hard way in Episode 13.

** Fat Buu has a bottomless appetite and becomes violently angry when he feels like his meal is threatened. Any attempt to take away or deny him food is met with excessive hostility. [[Anime/DragonBallZBattleOfGods He even mouthed off to Beerus when he wanted one of his many pudding cups]] [[CurbStompBattle (though, read below to see how that went)]]. Also, don't call him stupid. Vegeta did so and got pounded to near-death over it, to the point that he was [[BloodFromTheMouth vomiting]] and [[EyeScream crying blood.]]
