* Just the whole story premise. Think about it for a moment. It's Light Yagami, one of the greatest MagnificentBastard's in all of anime and greatest murderers in human history, versus the Phantom Thieves, perhaps the most incredible group of misfits to ever exist in video games. It's no longer just a battle between Light and L. It's devolved into a three-way! And considering that Light joins the Phantom Thieves, it would later evolve into a battle of the Thieves vs. L vs. The Conspiracy ending in the showdown against Yaldabaoth.

* It's PlayedForDrama, but the fact that Ryuk is terrified of Yaldabaoth speaks volumes. Think about this for a second: Shinigami are EldritchAbomination with BlueAndOrangeMorality. They don't care about the world or who they get involved with or who they kill, with exceptions like Gelus and Rem. But they all fear the God of Control, and fear him even more because of what he does to any Shinigami who dares wander into his territory.
** To put this into context, the Death Note lore for Shinigami has a series of punishments that Shinigami will undergo if they break the rules. Levels 8 through 4 are survivable, but Level 3 and up will ensure death. The Extreme Level is AFateWorseThanDeath. It's unknown what Yaldabaoth does to Shinigami, but according to Ryuk, the Extreme Level is a MercyKill in comparison.

* After obtaining his Persona, Light becomes far more cheerful - and he's even turned BrilliantButLazy, as he's shown to be putting barely any effort into his studies and he still aces them.
* Five words: Light joins the Phantom Thieves. It's gonna be epic.

* Credit has to go to Sayu. She just learned that her brother is Kira, and what does she do? Request the Phantom Thieves to steal his heart. Except she doesn't do it because it's the right thing. She does it because she wants her big brother back.
* Light's Palace, while also NightmareFuel, is also something to behold. Unlike Kaneshiro, who viewed everyone in Shibuya as mere ATM machines or Shido, who's Palace had the whole world submerged, Light's Palace encompasses the whole world ''because Light himself thinks it's one giant rotting shithole''. It looks something like a demilitarized zone. The atmosphere is just all sorts of dark and gloomy.
* The fight scenes were rather lackluster, with the author admitting it isn't really their forte. But the fight against Shadow Light is just all sorts of incredible. It feels like it comes straight out of a video game, and more importantly, it's a multi-stage that showcase how Light thinks of himself and then devolves into what he really is.
** To elaborate further, the design of Shadow Light, AKA Demiurge, is modeled after an early concept design from Kunino-sagiri. A demonic judge that acts like a god and plays judge, jury and executioner. It really does fit how twisted Light's personality is.
* In Chapter 3: ''Light Yagami - Demiurge'', the Phantom Thieves of Hearts successfully steal the heart of what could be their greatest target in the whole series: '''Kira'''.
* Light's Persona awakening scene in general. To summarize, he's been angsting throughout the previous two chapters after having his heart changed, has been trying to figure out what justice really meant to him in the end, and then finds himself in Mementos, where he promptly finds himself caught in the crossfire between the Phantom Thieves of Hearts and one of their targets. The conversation between the two also sparks the catalyst leading to Light's Persona awakening. And it is ''glorious''. And who better to represent Light's will of rebellion than ''Literature/TheCountOfMonteCristo''?!
