Cue the General sheathing her sword, and revealing that her own brother was part of the ''Monarch'''s crew. And that she's now ''very'' curious to know how this war started. Cue a dual OhCrap from the King and Queen, realizing that they not only lost the support of their own people, but also of their own ''military''.

* The fact that countless hunters (including Jacob's and Maisie's parents) and sea beasts died in a pointless WarForFunAndProfit that lasted for centuries and only served the greed of the Monarchs. The bottom of the oceon is full of sunken ships and the bones of dead sea beasts.
* The falling-out between Jacob and his ParentalSubstitute Captain Crow is hard to watch. And while Crow realizes that Jacob was right in the end they never get the chance to reconcile.
* While the end of the Age of Hunting is a good thing, many hunters like Sarah Sharpe face a very uncertain future now...
