** Followed ''immediately'' afterwards by Death catching up with Ipslore and ending his madness. Made even more satisfying considering that Death was blackmailed into letting Ipslore get away with his scheme at the start.

** To reiterate, the wizards by this point have been empowered to the point that Ankh-Morpork is their plaything and they stand unchallenged by even the Gods of the Discworld themselves. The Librarian, a mostly-normal orangutan beyond not being affected by ThingsManWasNotMeantToKnow, ''kicks their arses and scares the shit out of them''. He then goes on to do the same to the same Sourcerer that effortlessly froze the gods, and not only gets away with it but scares said RealityWarper out of converting him back.

* Rincewind's utter fury when the wizards abandon the tower after Coin gets locked in a deadly battle with his father inside the staff. Rincewind suggests helping Coin, but the wizards refuse. So Rincewind races forward, grabs the staff out of Coin's hands and survives.

* The wizards decide they're going to burn all the books in the library, so they sneak in at night, it's dark, one of them lights one match, and "the Librarian dropped on him like the descent of Man". Also FunnyMoment because of the superb phrasing.

** Not to forget, in the same book, he tries the same thing with the sourcerer Coin who, just before, trapped the gods in a glass ball without even breathing hard.

** Earlier, Rincewind gets a cut on the side of his head from a thrown knife and faints at the sight of his own blood. Later, he get whacked across the head with a sentient staff made of metal, which very likely may have caused an even greater injury, and simply gets back up and keeps fighting. Wow. Maybe he only faints at the sight of blood and is alright otherwise or it could be a subtly awesome form of Character Development.

Some people only faint at the sight of blood so not fainting when hit over the head doesn\'t seem that inconsistent when if Rincewind did when cut.
