** Really, any time Milly refuses to take any crap from the brothers qualifies. From overturning the table when they eat like hogs to locking the boys out of the dining room until they've washed up, Milly's word is ''law''.

** Then there's the barn raising itself. Or rather, the fight that brings it down. The Pontipees put up with a lot of obviously intentional abuse during the building (courtesy of the men whose girls they charmed over). They take it when they get abused, but when Adam (who's already happily married) gets hit, the airs and graces come off BIG TIME. Highlights include:
*** Ephraim getting pushed out a window, pushed back by Daniel, dodging a punch, and dragging the man who threw the punch out the same window,
*** Gideon and Adam both ducking under people charging at them, nicely sending them into other enemy combatants,
*** Benjamin dragging one man out of a group and punching him into a ladder, which then falls into the other men in the group,
*** Gideon getting thrown out a window, being kept out, ''climbing up the wall, and leaping in from the open roof, taking three guys out with one landing!''
*** The result? Town folk out cold, barn in pieces, Pontipees standing and laughing it off. Total victory achieved.

* The dance prior to the barn raising. Knockout choreography that takes full advantage of the then-new widescreen, and some great use of using dance alone to tell a story as the brothers slowly win over the town girls.
* Gideon calling out Adam and then punching him in the face. Also Gideon beating up the city boy who hurt Adam for no reason.

* "Lonesome Polecat", a song with some pretty complicated synchronized choreography involving ''axes'' is done all in ''one take''.
