** The sheer fact that despite human kids being ''the'' energy source for the Monster world, one quite needed during its current energy crisis, and on top of that, the most feared entity to all monsters due to their supposed toxicity, [[ReasonableAuthorityFigure the CDA will arrest even someone like Waternoose on the spot for trying to abduct and harm a child.]]

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/boo_vs_randall.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:A small child, vs a literal SmugSnake. ''The small child wins.''[[note]]Not pictured here (but making the scene no less awesome) is Boo, a few moments later, ''beating him with a baseball bat''.[[/note]]]]
* In the sushi restaurant; the as-yet-unnamed Boo slips away from Sulley and goes to the other end of the room. Keep in mind she's a tiny, adorable toddler, she innocently says "Boo!" Absolute panicked ''bedlam'' ensues among the ''monster'' patrons...
* [[BewareTheNiceOnes Boo]] [[CurbStompBattle vs.]] [[BigBadDuumvirate Randall.]] Also including ''a baseball bat and Randall's head!''
** This line afterward makes the scene all the better.
--->'''Sulley:''' [[NotAfraidOfYouAnymore She's not scared of you anymore.]]\\
'''Boo:''' RAAAR!\\
'''Sulley:''' Looks like you're out of a job.\\
'''Randall:''' ''([[LoudGulp gulps]])''
** And after, Sulley and Mike toss Randall into a door and proceed to destroy said door so he won't come back.
--->'''Sulley:''' Care to do the honors, Mikey?\\
'''Mike:''' With ''pleasure.''
** And Randall winds up into a trailer in some swampland where the mother and son think he's a gator that got in. And they immediately go for the shovel and start pummeling Randall into luggage!
* The Scare Floor montage.
** Two words: "Slumber party".
*** Fridge Awesome (if that's even a thing) kicks in after watching ''WesternAnimation/MonstersUniversity'', the climactic scene of which involves Sulley scaring an entire camp cabin full of people, something previously believed to be impossible for ''any'' monster. Now it's something he can apparently do pretty reliably.
* The International/Interdimensional Door Chase.
** Heck, the very existence of the door vault is this. The DVD commentary states that the vault contains ''35 million doors''.
** This sequence is titled "Ride of the Doors" in the soundtrack - which is also pretty awesome!
** Mike slamming a door on Randall, with an entirely appropriate quip to boot:
--->'''Mike:''' I hope that hurt, lizard boy!!
** At the very end, when Sulley swings on one of the doors and leaps across to the door Randall has escaped through.
** Boo finally overcoming her fear of Randall and beating the crap out of him as he's about to push Sulley out the door.
** The entire sequence is incredibly thrilling, and would make an excellent attraction at the Ride/DisneyThemeParks. In fact, there were plans to replace the existing Soundstage 17 and ''Ride/MuppetVision3D'' theater at Disney California Adventure with a rollercoaster themed to the door chase, but the budget earmarked for this project was ultimately funneled to ''Ride/StarWarsGalaxysEdge''.
* [[PapaWolf Sulley]] ''tearing down a metal door'' to save Boo. Many parents watching that scene can relate to how he feels.
** Following that scene above, the Scream Extractor is about to be used on Boo, who cries, "Kitty!" and screams in terror, and then [[BigDamnHeroes Sulley bursts in with a roar and moves the machine away from Boo, before tossing it at Randall and Waternoose. Randall escapes because of his speed but it still keeps Waternoose pinned.]]
* How about Celia, who's spent the entire movie pissed off at Mike for abandoning her after the sushi restaurant is infiltrated, and who now has a vice grip on Mike as he's being carted away by Sulley, demanding he explains what's going on. When he does, she's skeptical at first until she sees Boo over Sulley's shoulder, which shocks her to the point of letting go, then sees [[BigBadDuumvirate Randall chasing after them like Mike had said.]] The crowning moment of awesome is when Celia creates a distraction for Sulley and Mike by announcing that Randall has beaten the all-time scaring high score, leaving everyone around Randall to mob him in congratulations so Sulley and Mike can get away.
-->'''Celia:''' Go get 'em, Googily-Bear.
* Waternoose deserves mention for catching up to Sulley and Boo and managing to rip open a door that Sulley [[SuperStrength had secured shut with a metal pipe]], all the while proving how terrifying he can be.
* This brief moment deserves a mention:
-->'''Waternoose:''' I never should've trusted you with this. Because of you, [[EvenEvilHasStandards I had to]] [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes banish my top scarer]].\\
'''Randall:''' Eh, with this machine, we won't need scarers. Besides, Sullivan got what he deserved.\\
'''Waternoose:''' Sullivan was ''twice'' the scarer you'll ''ever'' be!
* The entire plan leading to Waternoose's downfall.
** When Waternoose brings the CDA to apprehend Mike and Sulley, attempting to frame them for Boo's kidnapping, Mike comes out with Boo's monster disguise in his arms. He then throws a sock at a CDA, distracting them while he runs off.
** As the CDA pursue Mike, Sulley takes the real Boo and her door to another station. When Waternoose follows them, Sulley barricades the door with a steel pipe to keep him out, even giving a big DeathGlare towards his boss when he takes Boo through the door as Waternoose tries to order him not to.
** Waternoose goes on a passionate MotiveRant before knocking Sulley aside and reaching for the bed, only to grab the animatronic child from the start of the film. They're not in Boo's room, they're in the ''simulator'', and Mike and the CDA were outside listening while Waternoose [[AccidentalPublicConfession confessed to everything]].
--->'''Mike:''' You know what, let's watch my favorite part again, ''shall we?''\\
'''Waternoose:''' ''(on tape, looped)'' I'll kidnap a thousand children before I let this company die!
** The fact that Mike managed to convince the CDA into letting him pull an EngineeredPublicConfession is notable in of itself.
* After Waternoose's arrest, an officer tells Mike and Sulley that the CDA commander, "number one", wants to talk to them. They watch as the CDA agents stand in formation, a procession streaming into the room, and at the end of the procession- '''ROZ''', wearing a CDA-styled sweater. The fact she hid all this, for two and a half years, is worthwhile.
** Really, just Roz in general. She only has upwards of three minutes of screen time, yet she steals every scene she's in.
* The [[RunningGag third instance]] of the 23-19. George Sanderson gets ''another'' human sock on him and just as Charlie is about to call for the CDA again, George stuffs the sock into Charlie's mouth, throws him through the kid's door, shuts it, and walks away happily while whistling. After falling victim to the CDA's "decontamination" methods ''twice'', it was completely reasonable, awesome, and [[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments hilarious]].
* While it was a tense moment and PlayedForDrama, you gotta give four foot tall Mike props for getting angry enough to tackle behemoth Sulley hard enough to completely knock him over and hold his own while fighting him on the way down.
* Sulley figuring out how to solve the energy crisis and keep Monsters Inc. in business. Thanks to Mike's statement they had some good ''laughs'' during their quest, Sulley remembers the power surges caused by Boo's laughter. The next time Monsters Inc is seen, Sulley and Mike are running the place thanks to their newfound power source; laughter, which is much easier to generate if the extra large canisters are any indication, especially since it's '''ten times more powerful than screams'''.
* The ending of the film was not only SugarWiki/{{Heartwarming Moment|s}}, but REALLY awesome:
-->'''Sulley:''' ''(peeking through the rebuilt door)'' ...Boo?\\
'''Boo:''' Kitty! ''(Sulley smiles in joy)''
** How about the fact Mike spent a lot of time, effort, and some cuts from the door shreds, just to make that happen for Sulley. That's true friendship. Not only that, he did this all while WesternAnimation/MonstersAtWork shows he had to help run a company.
