* What about the fight between the TWO SCARABS? You get to ride in the little-used Hornet, drop into the Scarab, shoot out the energy core, and watch as it blows up fantastically...and THEN, you do it again. And all the while, some of the games most awesome music is playing, leading to pure, gut-wrenching awesome.

** Expanding on the [[https://www.halopedia.org/Battle_of_the_Maginot_Sphere battle]] between [[UpgradeVsPrototypeFight Offensive Bias and Mendicant Bias]]. Offensive Bias begins with 10,999 ships, essentially as an improvised emergency fleet mustered from whatever the Forerunners had left, to buy time for the Halos to be fired. Mendicant Bias shows up with '''4,802,019 ships''', of which '''86,436''' are actual military ships (though only a thousand or so are controlled directly by Mendicant Bias, with the rest being crewed by Flood forms), with the other civilian ships being filled with Flood organisms and being used as "ablative shielding". The early battle takes several hours, with Mendicant Bias trying to overrun Offensive Bias' forces while he subtly feints and allows some of his ships to be captured to set up a trap later. Then the Halo rings fire and all Flood and Forerunner crews are destroyed, leaving millions of ships adrift. Now Mendicant and Offensive are on even terms. Offensive Bias proceeds to '''obliterate''' Mendicant's fleet in under '''3 minutes''', using tricks like detonating ships in the middle of the enemy fleet or opening unrestricted slipspace ruptures, eventually outnumbering him 6 to 1.

** The "Demon" moniker isn't something exclusive to the Chief. In the novel the ''Ghosts of Onyx,'' an Elite outright stated the Spartans are so feared by the Covenant that the word was incorporated into their language to mean "Demon."

* Lorewise the Fall of Reach is a ''catastrophic'' loss for the [=UNSC=], however it's one of the battles where the [=UNSC=] had the best kill/losses ratio to the Covenant, with Halopedia giving a number of around 315 Covenant ships present at Reach, with 210 of the ships being lost. The [=UNSC=] by comparison had 20 Orbital Defense Platforms and around 152 warships, losing 130 of them. The [=UNSC=] did not [[DoNotGoGentle go down without a fight]].

* In the first two ''Halo'' games, Grunts whose team leader died will universally panic and try to hide, only firing back if you happen upon them cowering or have your back turned. In ''Halo 3''? Some of the Unggoy grow a pair and rush you head on. And by "grow a pair", we mean "[[SuicideAttack Ignite both their Plasma Grenades, hold onto them as tight as they can, and charge in as fast as their little legs can carry them]]." And if you're playing on a high enough difficulty, they can ''survive'' it.

This Troper, natter, and meta moment

** Meta-Awesome: It is directed by Rupert Sanders, who later went on to direct Film/SnowWhiteAndTheHuntsman and Film/GhostInTheShell2017. Not bad.

* In a sense that also count as heartwarming and tearjerker, the meta-symbolism involving Noble Six, the Player, Bungie, and the Halo games. The games started with you as Master Chief fighting through the three Halo games. In Halo Reach, Noble Six represents you as your own super-soldier SPARTAN-III, complete with your own customizable armor and deliberately blank backstory for you to fill in the details, and Bungie makes YOU the superstar of the games, and it's thanks to you as Noble Six that Master Chief's journey begins.

*** And Will walking up to that Hunter and PUNCHING it to death... Nice.

*** This troper feels the above lacks the elaboration it deserves. These aren’t the regular piddly little drones that we see in the games that can be taken down with an overcharged plasma pistol shot. No these are ''Onyx Sentinels.'' The regular Agressor Sentinel has a beam that can vaporize organic matter to help contain The Flood. A group of Onyx Sentinels can focus their beams to take down ''starships''. Their shields are impervious to rockets and anti-tank mines. Not only are they lethal and tough to take down, but they ''think. '' Groups can band together and share data, forming strategies that render any successful attack against them useless in the future. But the worst part is [[spoiler: the entire planet of Onyx is made of them. It’s one massive Sentinel formation surrounding a Forerunner Dyson Sphere]].

Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

*** But there are other options... I heard of one story about a guy who took down a Scarab by shooting it with a Hornet, but was badly damaged, and being pursued by two Banshees. What does he do? [[RammingAlwaysWorks Slam the Hornet into the second Scarab's power core, taking out the shield.]] The Banshees fire their FRG's, and they blow up the Hornet, destroying the core. [[UpToEleven Then before he hits the ground, he hijacks a Ghost and goes to town on the stragglers.]]

** To emphasize on the situation, Chief manages to stop a bomb from detonating on board the Cairo Station and hgot an idea to take out one of the Covenant's carrier. Lord Hood takes a moment to realize what Chief is planning and grants him the permission. Chief pulls the bomb to the hangar and drops the bomb into space while directing it in zero gravity. As players sees a beautiful visuals of Earth and an epic space battle, Chief narrowly avoids an exploding cruiser and enters the Covenant's carrier, reactivates the bomb and exits the same way he enters. With the carrier destroyed, Chief safely lands on ''In Amber Clad''. Master Chief-1, Covenant cruiser-0.

** Hood only takes a ''few seconds'' before granting Chief permission to "give the Covenant back their bomb." SPARTAN-IIs, and John-117 in particular, are so badass that he barely even questions letting him do whatever he wants in the moment.
