* The kids decide to pull a SummonBiggerFish on Venger, and sic Tiamat on him by opening the trapdoor she had been locked in.

[[AC: The Eye Of The Beholder]]
* Eric pulls a [[Film/ANewHope Han Solo]] during the climax when his friends all immediately rush from the portal home to try to protect Sir John from Venger. Eric has no intention of joining them ("I don't believe what I'm seeing!"), turns his back on the fight, prepares to jump through, stands there for a second... and [[ConscienceMakesYouGoBack turns right around]] ("I don't believe what I'm ''doing!''"). He saves Sir John and his son from Venger's next attack just in time, BigDamnHeroes style.

[[AC: The Hall Of Bones]]
* A villainous one for Venger. He manages to disguise himself as a halfling with such convincing skill, not one of the kids suspect him. It helps that Creator/FrankWelker was CastAsAMask.
* No less so the heroes and heroines of the eponymous hall, who school Venger in battle.

[[AC: Valley Of The Unicorns]]
* Eric dashing in and protecting the others from falling boulders. Everyone is surprised by his action.
* Low-key but still awesome: When Dungeon Master makes his requisite appearance, Eric takes notes on his CrypticConversation in what looks like a throwaway gag. Come the climax, [[ChekhovsLecture he consults his notes and is able to translate said cryptic instructions and tell Presto exactly what he needs to do to save all the unicorns.]] It works!
* Presto manages to use Venger as a SummonBiggerFish on Kelleck.
* Bobby's rage is sufficient to break Kelleck's ice spell.

[[AC: In Search Of The Dungeon Master]]
* Despite her ShrinkingViolet tendencies, Sheila manages to evade capture, retrieve her friends' weapons, and free them.

[[AC: Beauty And The Bogbeast]]
* Hank and Sheila taking down the giant, animate statue in the jungle.

[[AC:Quest Of The Skeleton Warrior]]
* Despite being tortured by [[MakeYouWatch images of his friends in danger and being powerless to help them]], Hank's the first to realize it's all an illusion and break the spell by facing his fear.
* When Presto realizes the solution to Dungeon Master's riddle, he dashes out into the middle of the battle between Venger and Dekion to retrieve the Circle of Power, then calls for Hank to destroy it.

* Bobby saving his team by singlehandedly fighting off the sea monster that surprises them, even getting almost lethally injured for his troubles.
* Diana saving the boys from the giant worm.

* Hank jumping into the abyss before defeating the giant wasps and getting himself and the others to safety may have been overly dramatic, but it was awesome to watch!

[[AC: The Lost Children]]
* Sheila's backing away from two Lizard Men, nervously telling them that if they don't leave her alone, they'd be sorry. Then she spots the laser tripwire she'd evaded earlier, and more confident, repeats her assertion. The Lizard Men charge her, and trip the trap, caging themselves. She then runs past them, mocking them, "She go bye-bye."

[[AC: The Girl Who Dreamed Tomorrow]]
* Bobby, Diana, and Eric come up with a FastballSpecial technique to destroy the portal that Venger had been using to lure heroes to their deaths.
* Eric once again rushes headlong into danger to save Bobby and Terri. Bobby calls this "the second-bravest thing I ever saw."
* Hank's the only one who [[NoSell doesn't succumb]] to the maze's HatePlague and is able to snap the others out of it with one of his arrow-fireworks displays.
* Venger goes OneWingedAngel [[http://www.dungeonsdragonscartoon.com/2009/08/metamorphosed-venger.htmlon on the children]].
** Fighting this form, Presto summons a huge number of mousetraps that snap shut on one of Venger's spiked tentacles, actually causing him pain. Even Eric thought it was ActuallyPrettyFunny.

* Hank flash-blinds Demodragon by smashing the talisman Venger gave them.
* When Eric and Uni are caught by Demodragon, Eric actually remains DefiantToTheEnd.

* Attacking Uni ended up being Demodragon's undoing, as she was wearing a garland of Dragon's Bane, and the moment Demodragon touched it, he perished.

* After Bobby is kidnapped, Eric is the first to stand up and insist they go on a rescue mission.
* Ramoud tells Sheila she is very brave after she suggests that they might find his daughter more quickly if they allow themselves to be captured, adding that if any of the demons harm her, they'll regret it.

[[AC: Day Of The Dungeon Master]]
* In one of the rare one-on-one battles between one of the heroes and Venger, Eric attempts to pull a HeroicSacrifice to get the others home. While they don't make it through the portal, he ''does'' save their lives.

[[AC: The Dragon's Graveyard]]
* This is basically the show's Crowning Episode of Awesome. Every single character is at the top of their game. Let's count the ways:
* The kids get fed up with Venger always screwing with their plans to get home, and decide they need to kill him if they're to have a chance. They quickly realize that the only way to do that is to recruit Tiamat, and so they ''bully the Dungeon Master'' into telling them where Tiamat lives and how to convince her to aid them. Already in the first act, the kids are proving themselves to be '''hardcore'''.
* Not to be outdone, Venger reaches the peak of his viciousness throughout the episode, from his death trap at the very beginning to his fury throughout the rest of it.
* Tiamat is willing to listen, and her plan is simple: she will lure Venger to her home, where the kids' weapons will be super-powerful. Venger counters by resurrecting skeletal warriors with similar weapons, but Tiamat's plan is solid: the kids beat Venger in a fair fight. The weapons being powered up is every bit as exciting as advertised.
* Hank spares Venger's life, as is to be expected, but tells Venger not to forget that they had him at their mercy. Venger's expression clearly indicates that the BadassBoast hit home.
* The episode ends with a shot of Tiamat, looking majestic and her eyes twinkling.

[[AC: Child Of The Stargazer]]
* A subtle one early in the beginning. All of the kids are resting when they hear a rustle in the bushes. Without a word spoken between any of them, they're all up in an instant, weapons at the ready, surrounding the bush the noise came from.
* From her role in the battle with Syrith's {{mooks}}, to escaping with Kosar from Syrith's laboratory via SuperWindowJump, to making it to the platform of the temple in time to gain the power to defeat Syrith and end her reign of terror over the city, this episode is dedicated to showing what a badass warrior the Acrobat really is.

* Bobby and Eric are snarking at each other as a massive tower collapses behind them. A massive stone falls, seemingly on top of Bobby from the viewpoint of the others, only for Bobby to nonchalantly smash his way through and keep up his snarking with Eric as if nothing had happened.

[[AC: Citadel Of Shadow]]
* After being tricked by Kareena, Sheila manages to get back at her, infuriating Kareena, who lashes out with her magic against the invisible Thief, until she accidentally reveals the hidden door. Sheila's snark after this as she steals the RingOfPower is classic.

* Later, when Sheila goes back to save Kareena from Venger, she ends up using the two magic rings to imprison Venger. Since "Requiem" was never produced or aired, this is Venger's last appearance in the show, giving the impression that Sheila singlehandedly defeated the BigBad once-and-for-all ''on her own''.

[[AC: The Winds Of Darkness]]
* Per the executives' directive, Eric still disagrees with the rest of the team -- with Hank captured and the rest of the team despondent and unable to figure out what to do, Eric's [[{{Determinator}} the only one who refuses to give up]]. He takes the lead for the rest of the episode, exhorting the team when things look hopeless, and insisting on going forward no matter how much their new ally tells them it's too dangerous and encourages them to give up. When they finally reach the Darkling's forest, Presto asks him in the most natural way, "What's the plan, Eric?" He then lays out the battle plan for the climax as if he's been doing this all his life. In short, the way he shines in the unplanned series finale truly does make up for how the writers were forced to treat him throughout all the episodes prior.

Eberron has the greatest spin on OurElvesAreBetter in the history of the universe.

* The third-party sourcebook [[https://grimhollowstore.com/ Grim Hollow]] is based around gothic horror, so for the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8vbRywVSZc trailer for the first book]] they amped up the helplessness, with a vampire gleefully narrating how the world is lost. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h32vdTASqZA The second trailer]] starts of much the same, with a father finding that his daughter is kidnapped by a monster, a mage being nearly killed by the inquisition and a couple soldiers helplessly besieged by zombies. Then, the narrator drops her cape to reveal she is a [[AngelOfHumanOrigin Seraph]], and the tide turns; The father grabs an axe, stating his intention to save his daughter. The mage breaks out, throwing fire on the inquisitors and shielding the kind people who tried to protect her, and the soldiers get a second wind, battling the undead with the Seraph at their back.

* One of the potential ways players can solve the conflict in ''Descent into Avernus'' is by way of SummonBiggerFish. Specifically, ''Tiamat!''. Zariel may be a powerful archduchess of Hell, but she's nothing compared to a deity.

* Snails' death. For those who [[TheScrappy can't stand him]], it's a breath of relief to see him go. For those precious few who can, he may have died, but [[DyingMomentOfAwesome he went out swinging]], refusing to submit to Damodar even as the evil mage soundly thrashes him. He then defies HostageForMacguffin as he reveals he manged to snag the map from right under Damodar's nose, tossing it to Ridley and sealing his own fate, [[GrinOfAudacity grinning]] [[GoOutWithASmile as he does do]].

* Ridley's climactic fight with Damodar: the choreography isn't anything spectacular, but it's still Ridley [[UnstoppableRage savagely pounding away]] at the EvilSorcerer who killed his best friend. It ends when Ridley takes advantage of a clumsy swing on Damodar's part to Tumble over his head: by the time Baldy McBlueLips realizes that he's lost sight of Ridley, the thief has [[BackStab shanked]] him with Snails's knife.

* [[spoiler: Snails' death]]. While it's supposed to be tragic, he was such a [[TheScrappy scrappy]] that it's outright relieving when he's [[CurbStompBattle beaten to death]] by [[TheDragon Damodar]].

* Quite possibly the most famous article in ''Dragon Magazine'''s history covered the topic of "Tucker's Kobolds," an editorial that revolutionized how many DMs and players utilized low-level monsters - while they may only have 1-4 hit points, you can damn well make them terrifying through tactics, great dungeon design, and atmosphere. Not only was it an awesome article to utilize, a moment of awesome for the author's dungeon master "Tucker," it made the previously overlooked and underwhelming kobolds into something akin to MemeticBadass trapsters and guerrilla fighters a la the Viet Cong.
