* Every time Zero takes down a higher-level enemy is impressive, but [[http://www.onemanga.com/Digimon_Adventure_V-Tamer_01/13/01/ the fight against Lord Vamdemon]] is especially awesome - Vamdemon has managed to blind Zero, and he's got Taichi by the shirt. Then, Zero somehow fires his V Breath Arrow at Vamdemon's face with perfect accuracy, and Taichi barely avoids getting hit, resulting in Vamdemon's defeat. In fact, Taichi had given Zero a specific order using the Digivice. Guess what Taichi's order was. [[spoiler:'''"Aim for my head."''']] Holy cow. Yes, Taichi used the sound of his voice to direct Zero's aim, and ''trusted him not to miss'' - if Zero had missed, it would've hit Taichi, and it would've killed him. If that isn't one of the most impressive examples of a powerful bond between a tamer and his Digimon in the entire series, I don't know what is.

* Awesome/DigimonXrosWarsTheYoungHuntersLeapingThroughTime

* This Troper cannot believe nobody has brought the AWESOME of any of the Digimon films, yet, especially, arguably the best one, Bokura no War Game ("Our War Game", a reference to, well, WarGames). in addition to having a fairly obscene budget (for a kid's movie, it's animation blows all the Pokemon and Yugioh movies combined out of the water.) and it was animated by a person who studied under Hayao Miyazaki at one time, so that's why the animation should look familliar. At one point in a movie, Diablomon (I refuse to recognise him by his horrible dub name) decideds to launch an highly advanced nuclear missile, and, when Koushirou finds out, he tells us it ''could blow up anywhere in the world, in nine minutes.'' and since Diablomon stated that it was "a game" at the beginning of the movie, they had defeat one of Diablomon's millions of self-clones that had the "Clock" (which symbolyses the detonation timer of the warhead.) that's right, a DIGIMON movie, has a movie plot about stopping ''[[NuclearWeaponsTaboo NUCLEAR WAR]]''. all the while, the whole world is reaching out to the heroes via e-mail. It is awesome beyond words, particularly in it's original, stand-alone, uncensored format.
* This troper went completely nuts after seeing the sheer AWESOMENESS when Greymon wrestles against the Parrotmon.
** The dub had its own CMOA: [[ThisIsSPARTA "YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT MAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIL!"]]
*** [[ThisIsSparta Best! Moment! Ever!]]
* Bokura no War Game. Omnimon. That is all.
*** I mean, who can forget the moment that ''created'' Omnimon? Children from all over the world helped to do so with their words of support, also making this a [[HeartwarmingMoment Crowning Moment of Heartwarming.]]
** This troper watched Digimon: The Movie approximately seven thousand times as a child, and long held the belief that the entire Omnimon segment was the single most awesome thing in the history of the world, and even now I hold that both the dub and the sub are equally awesome (though for entirely different reasons.) I held this belief right up until the finale to TengenToppaGurrenLagann.
* Another thing that makes Bokura no War Game is so awesome is when you realise that it was major foreshadowing. How so? Well remember that the movie is in fact Canon (having been mentioned in series by two of the characters), and that during it, kids from all over the world were watching, including the protaganists of 02. Anyone remember what the requirements for becoming a digidestined in 01 and 02 were? It was by ''seeing'' a digimon. Now if the children watching had in fact amounted to, oh say, ''50 million'', you suddenly realise where they all came from during the final episode of 02. ChekhovsGun indeed!
** The whole movie is a Crowning Movie Of Awesome - there is a good reason why Encyclopedia Dramatica thinks of this movie as the best anime movie of them all
*** Well, of course. On top of stopping nuclear war, they ''save the freaking internet!'' That fact alone is reason for any self-respecting geek to watch it.
* Speaking of the Digimon movies, while ''Bokura no War Game'' is this troper's single favorite piece of animation in the entire franchise, the ''DigimonSavers'' movie, ''Activate the Burst Mode!'' is a close second. First of all -- ''there are no humans until the very end.'' Yes, this is a Digimon movie about the ''Digimon.'' Masaru, Touma and Yoshino have all been [[Main/HumanPopsicle frozen]], and Agumon, Gaomon and Lalamon are forced to conduct the battle with the help of a MysteriousWaif, Rhythm. This would just be interesting if not for the fact that Gaomon is a badass of the first order, Lalamon has sausage nunchucks, and Agumon is a [[BigDamnHeroes big damn hero]]. Seriously. Gaomon goes all Jackie Chan on a bunch of Goblinmon, turns around and asks Lalamon for a sausage, Agumon breaks through to Burst Mode and Lalamon turns her goofiness into utter badassitude. It's a NonSerialMovie, as Burst Mode has special plot relevance in the series proper, but it's still cool!
** And the only human character who actually does anything, is, of course, Masaru. All the screentime he gets when he's not asleep is ''pure badass''. When Agumon has no strength left to fight Argomon, who has now gone Mega, Masaru comes out of nowhere, and ''pulls a fucking [[GurrenLagann Kamina]]'' before fufilling his punching stuff awesomely quota for the day by punching Argomon in the face and knocking the ''Godzilla sized monstrosity straight on his ass''. Then he and [=ShiningGreymon=] team up to tear Argomon a new one. ''I love this movie.''
* And we musn't forgot Bokura no War Game's sequel movie, Diaboromon Strikes Back. Omnimon gets the crap knocked out of him by Diaboromon's next evolutionary level, the aptly-named Armagedemon, who looks like some powerful beast ripped right out of [[Main/NeonGenesisEvangelion EVA]]. Daisuke and Ken show up all ''HotBlooded'' and have their Digimon form their ''SuperRobot'' form, Imperialdramon Fighter Mode. and Armageddemon survives it's [[GetterRobo STONER SUNSHINE]] ''ShoutOut'' attack, and beats Imperialdramon, only for Omnimon to use the Holy Ring to lend Imperialdramon his sword, and Imperialdramon immediately [[TookALevelinBadass Takes a level in badass]] and proceeds to become [[SuperRobotWars THE SWORD THAT CLEAVES EVIL]] (aka Imperialdramon Paladin Mode)!
** For this troper, the dub is awesome on another level because one of the first things Disney did once they got the license was to dub this. To hear nearly every voice actor reprise their respective characters years after Adventure 02 ended was pure joy.

[[AC:Digimon Adventure]]
* Joe's Crowning Moments of Awesome arise when he moves to protect the group and proves that he's not the klutzy coward he can come across as:
** Climbing a mountain to get the lay of the land, and then jumping off a cliff to try and get the Black Gear out of the ''flying'' Unimon. He gets thrown off in ''mid-air.''
** After being kicked around, cowed and pretty much enslaved at a restaurant, he jumps off a roof onto an evil Digimon to save TK. TK escapes, but Joe ends up being squeezed like a tube of toothpaste. Regardless, he tells Matt to defeat Digitamamon instead and not worry about him. It's this act of selflessness that causes Matt to realize the PowerOfFriendship and gets his Crest to glow.
** After promising TK's mother that he'd take care of him, they get thrown off Ikkakumon and are all drowning in Tokyo Bay. Joe manages to dive down, drag TK above the surface, and get him onto something that floats. This tires him out and he would have drowned if his own Crest didn't glow.
** Finally, this is a pretty small one, but Joe makes sure that everyone else gets across DeathCourse trapeze to safety, pushing Izzy away just as Piedmon walks up and turns him into a key chain. Izzy (and Tentomon) don't get away, but everyone else does!
*** There's [[ThePowerOfTrust a reason]] Joe's crest is Reliability.
*** Yeah, but it's "faith" or "sincerity" in the Japanese.
*** ...Which still works, really. "Faith", as in, he's someone you can have faith in.
* The awesomeness of Tai. After unsuccessfully forcing Agumon to evolve into an Ultimate, abandoning Sora due to his fear, having a HeroicBSOD, he finally grows a pair when things seem the most hopeless, has Agumon transform into a proper Ultimate level and kick the ass of Etemon, who has constantly been one step ahead of them the whole damn arc!
** That entire episode is pure win. Starting with Ikkakumon's bombardment of the pyramid, the three-on-one fight between Ikkakumon, Togemon, and Garurumon against Etemon, Tai sticking it to both Etemon and Datamon, Etemon getting trapped under the electric fence by Birdramon, and of course the finale where Etemon gets fused with his Dark Network, starts consuming the entire desert around him, and then [=MetalGreymon=] kicks his ass.
** And Tai's return to the Digital World: he manages to bring the entire team back together, making him TheMessiah.
* Kari, Kari, Kari. Just Tai's baby sister and an adorable, [[IllGirl Ill]], AffirmativeActionGirl, right? Well, say that when she, at all of eight years old, walks up towards [=WaruMonzaemon=], ostensibly offering herself up as his first kill, but striding up there, looking for all the world like a queen.
** For this troper, her first CMOA was when she, knowing ''exactly'' what would happen to her, gave herself up to Myotismon. She knew that no one would blame her if she ran and hid, but instead, she just walked up to Phantomon. "It's me you want." She was 8 years old, and willing to ''die'' to save her friends.
** Kari gets so many awesome points in general for just freaking ''surviving'' the Digital World. That she returns on ''DigimonAdventure02'', all grown up and ready to do it ''all over again'', can give one very happy feelings. *Sniff* She's all grown up.
* Undoubtedly, the most awesome thing Mimi, whose motto is pretty much EverythingsBetterWithPrincesses, ever did was when the Garbemon threw their poop attack, and instead of running like everyone else did, she ''caught it in her hand and threw it back at them.'' Granted, she was wearing gloves and in the early stages of HeroicBSOD, but ''damn'' if it wasn't cool.
** It was later made note of in season 2, not that anyone would know, cuz it was in Japanese. Even in the dub.
*** Wasn't it Sukamon and Chuumon they referenced in ''02''? MegatonPunch, bitch.
** Arriving with an [[TheCavalry army of Digimon to save the asses of the rest of the chosen]] certainly counts.
* Who could forget the first Angewomon/Lady Devimon fight? Everything from cute li'l Hikari uttering "[Lady Devimon] looks like a witch" and cheering her on in the ennsuing catfight (pun not intended) to Tai and Izzy providing the exact commentary that came to everyone's mind. To wit, "I know I shouldn't be watching this but I can't turn away!"
--->'''[=LadyDevimon=]''': You broke it!
--->'''[=MegaKabuterimon=]''': Awww...send me the bill.
* Gatomon/Angewomon gets one when she first digivolves to the Ultimate level, in a bout of UnstoppableRage [[spoiler: after Myotismon kills Wizardmon.]]
** Arguably, ''all'' the Ultimates get one for their debut appearances.
* How has Vamdemon/Myotismon's first appearance before the Chosen not been mentioned? The flying carriage, trailing darkness with him, ''the coffin skydive''! This troper thinks that is the only villain entrance they have honestly never forgotten.
* [=MagnaAngemon=]: After Piedmon had whupped on him and all the other Digimon -- Mega or otherwise -- Angemon TookALevelInBadass and changed to this Ultimate form and handed Piedmon his ass. He follows this up by sucking Piedmon into the Gate of Destiny.
** He also saved two of the kids just in time from falling to their doom.
** It can be argued that [=MagnaAngemon=] won so easily because he is an angel, and the natural enemy of the Dark Master Piedmon, but still.
** Angemon's (Champion-level) first appearance was pretty awesome too. The thing that sort of got me interested in following the show, in fact.
** Another thing from the final fight with Piedmon that counts is Mimi leading a GondorCallsForAid against Piedmon's army of Vilemon. She may have had trouble getting to the fight, but she sure made her entrance count big time. The beatdown all the chosen Digimon hand to Piedmon afterwards also counts.
* WHENEVER "Brave Heart" is playing, the moment is a CrowningMomentOfAwesome for someone.
** Including Myotismon who, at the moment in question, defeats Greymon almost immediately.
* Wizardmon. The guy is a walking CrowningMomentOfAwesome. He was basically loyal to Gatomon all along, helping her when he suspected her of being a partner. He willingly went against Myotismon, declaring "''How could I betray you when I was never on your side to begin with!''" (a line this troper has never forgotten and has even used on occasion), and surviving two [[NoOneCouldSurviveThat fatal attacks]]. When he attacks Myotismon from behind after the first attempt, Myotismon actually shows ''fear'' when he sees his assailant, something to even Angewomon couldn't achieve. His eventual HeroicSacrifice paved the way for Gatomon's Moment.
* Heck, everything before Myotismon and company invading Tokyo counts, even the little details. Why? Because seven children, the oldest ones barely into adolescence, if that( the oldest was 12, and T.K, was 8!), completely vanished into a foreign realm where almost every enemy Digimon could have killed them. They didn't have previous information or past Chosens to aid them like the 02 clan did, their only source of protection was their inexperienced partners, and they had neither an easily-accessible way of returning home (until Izzy cracked the card code) nor a way of contacting their significant others to let them know they were alright. And despite all of their near-death experiences (including petrification and being swallowed by a whale), they all survived. You try to find seven random people in the Chosens' age range in your town that would be brave enough to duplicate that feat. ''Against their will''. When Izzy said they were pioneers, you better believe he was right.
* The final battle with Apocalymon counts. The kids manage to use HeroicResolve mixed with a WorldOfCardboardSpeech to let their Digimon fully digivolve despite their crests being destroyed and then top that by '''''reassembling themselves from scattered data through HeroicWillpower alone!''''' They then proceed to systematically tear him apart and SaveBothWorlds. No matter what you think of Apocalymon's appearence, this fight is a major CrowningMomentOfAwesome for them all.
* [=WarGreymon=] vs. Machinedramon. He immediately warp-digivolves, slices through the bad guy, and depowers back to the In-Training form of Koromon. After a few seconds of Machinedramon taunting him about how ineffective his attack was, Koromon reveals that he actually sliced him up pretty bad. Bye, Machinedramon.
* The immediate follow-up to Agumon and Gabumon's first time warp-evolving was a fantastic moment like this. The first thing they do is show off just how powerful they are as [=WarGreymon=] and [=MetalGarurumon=] by laying spectacularly into the previously unflinching [=VenomVamdemon=] and actually budging him, never mind knocking him over and freezing him; even if it didn't deal much damage in the long-term, it was truly an awesome sight and a fantastic way to introduce the true magnitude of the Ultimate level. What topped it off was the camera treatment of [=MetalGarurumon=]'s first MacrossMissileMassacre - quickly panning over all his missile ports loading and unfurling, then rapidly zooming out from the top as it all fired... ''yesssss.''
* How about Omnimon's first appearance in ''Digimon: TheMovie''? Beaten and broken, Wargreymon and Metalgarurumon get power from kids all around the world, and they digivolve together to form Omnimon, a huge badass White Knight with a Wargreymon-themed sword and a Metalgarurumon-themed cannon. Omnimon then proceeds to casually destroy thousands of copies of the Mega-level Digimon Diaboromon, just one of which was giving his previous forms massive difficulty. It was badass and perhaps the best introduction for any Digimon ever.
** The dub does a ''really'' good job with the music in that scene alone. The moment it kicks in, you know awesome is about to insue.
** What? No love for Magnamon and Rapidmon's appearance near the end of the film? Come on!

[[AC:Digimon Adventure 02]]
* When considering that TK was mostly the cute, helpless kid of the group in the previous season and how his older second season self seems generally affable, his many moments of righteous fury in regards to the actions of the Digimon Emperor and Dark Digimon can be rather violent. This is first most evident in episode 2x19 wherein, in a fit of rage, Takeru physically attacks the Digimon Emperor after [[http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i320/mpcp13/TakeruDarkAmusement.jpg smiling in dark amusement at the latter's whip-induced injury of his face]].
** In the midst of TK's asskicking of the Digimon Emperor, he also counters a second whip attack by ''catching it with his bare hand''. Taking a whip crack to the face (as that can ''hurt'') without flinching and catching another one with a bare hand is, indeed, awesome beyond words.
*** At least in the Latin American version, he touched his cheek, after a speech were he leaves Ken speechless, smiled, said something along the lines of "[...]you had to favor violence[...]" and then proceeded to try and punch the Emperors lights out.[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkNS0G171EQ The link for the Spanish speakers]], enjoy.
** Say what you will about the English dub, but the line given to Takeru/TK was pretty awesome. When the Digimon Emperor/Kaiser whips him after demanding that he [[KneelBeforeZod fall upon the floor and bow down]], he responds calmly after smirking with:
---> '''TK''': Sorry, the floor's kinda dirty. ''*proceeds to attack Ken*''
** His next line (after being whipped) is probably one of the best in the dub when you add in the aforementioned "dark amusement smile": "When you can't think of anything to say, do you always resort to fighting?"
** Win for TK; ''[[WhatAnIdiot Ken actually said yes.]]'' He basically consented to his own butt-kicking.
---> '''TK:''' Now is the time to talk... Then again, now is also a good time to fight. *pow*
** This fight is taken to a new level of awesome when one remembers that when Ken was introduced, it was stated that not only was he an all-star soccer player, but he was also a black belt judo champion.
*** Or alternately, it takes TK to even higher levels of Marty Stu.
* Yolei whacking [=LadyDevimon=] with the skateboard.
** Don't forget her RousingSpeech to the panicking, screaming Kari in the middle of the Sea of Darkness. Doubles as a CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming. Yolei's pretty good at [[GetAHoldOfYourselfMan hitting people]] as a means of motivation.
* Since Wormmon has spent the first 20 episodes of ''[[DigimonAdventure02 02]]'' being kicked around by Ken, the moment where he goes against him and leads Davis and Chibimon to Ken's main power source is pretty cool. The moment where he hijacks the Devidramon they were riding, ''knocks Ken off it, rams Chimeramon,'' frees Magnamon, and gives Magnamon the power to defeat Chimeramon via HeroicSacrifice? While crying and saying he still believes in Ken's kindness? [[TearJerker Tear-jerkingly]] awesome.
* Davis/Daisuke. For all his boneheadedness, for all his insistence on pining over a girl that either doesn't notice or doesn't care [[hottip:*:It's complicated]], for every single insult thrown his way by his friends and the fanbase for being the ReplacementScrappy, the guy's got a hidden badass deep down that will make you regret ''ever'' underestimating him. His actions include, but are not limited to, getting a hit in on Ken in what was otherwise a totally one-sided soccer match, tackling Ken down a cliff, snapping Ken out of every other one of his [[HeroicBSOD HeroicBSODs]] (actually a lot of his Crowning Moments involve Ken), rallying the others to create a SealedEvilInACan, taking on the BigBad by ''himself'' in a series where the FusionDance is all but a requirement if you don't wanna get the living hell kicked out of you, freeing everyone from TheFinalTemptation, and rallying ''everyone'' to help destroy the BigBad once and for all. [[FanonDiscontinuity Though that last one may or may not count]], depending on your personal canon.
** Even [[EldritchAbomination MaloMyotismon]] admitted that he was impressed by Davis's tenacity.
* Considering all the trauma that Ken had to go through (along with his psychological instability), this troper was incredibly impressed by episode forty-five. To seal Daemon away, Ken unflinchingly opened a portal to the Dark Ocean through his own Digivice, even when keeping that portal open proved to be so painful he kept screaming his head off.
** Tell me about it. @/{{Scarab}} does not normally buy HeelFaceTurn redemptions in fiction because they often feel forced or unrealistic to her (she?s a bit unsure of her place on the [[SlidingScaleOfIdealismVersusCynicism Sliding Scale]] right now). But after everything Ken [[TheAtoner went through]], all the damn crap he had to take and how damn ''hard'' he tried to make up for everything, culminating in the scene mentioned above, this is one instance where this troper was happy to sit back and say: "Yeah, he's totally earned this". He's now one of her favourite characters.
*** His line to Davis in the ''Revenge Of Diaboromon'' counts as another CrowningMomentOfAwesome. When Davis is exhausted from running to Rainbow Bridge and can barely keep up, Ken turns around, smirks, and says, "Well, at this rate, you'll never get the [soccer] ball from me." Davis tells him to shut up and then starts running again. Apparently, Ken can still figure out how to persuade people into doing what he wants, even if he's not the Emperor anymore. Plus it's a cute FriendshipMoment.
*** Ken's performance in the (cracky) drama CD "Michi E no Armor Shinka" is very impressive: Davis turns evil and the claims to be a new Digimon Emperor. Ken's voice drops to Emperor mode, and he starts to mock Davis, saying he can never be a true ruler of darkness. All the girls around squee at Ken's awesome evil performance, and Davis is shocked. It's also a CrowningMomentOfFunny.
* Mummymon. Throughout all of his appearances in the series, poor old Mummymon was a joke; he and Arukenimon were the [[GoldfishPoopGang "Jessie and James"]] of Digimon, so to speak. That is, until the end, when [[TheManBehindTheMan MaloMyotismon]] appears and brutally murders Arukenimon. In a fit sheer rage that his love had been destroyed, Mummymon almost TookALevelInBadass and attacked [=MaloMyotismon=] with all his strength, wrapping him in a Snake Bandage. The BigBad is not fazed however and easily breaks free, after a little taunting, Mummymon says two of the most [[CrowningMomentOfAwesome awesome]] lines ever: "YOU DON'T SCARE ME, YOU'VE TAKEN AWAY MY ARUKENIMON, AND NOW I'M GOING TO MAKE YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU DID TO HER!!!!" and "THEN I WILL TEACH YOU TO FEAR ME!!" he then proceeds to fire an energy gun beam at [=MaloMyotismon=], who shrugged it off and with a simple reply of "Playtime's over" and a puff of red smoke, he melted Mummymon into nothingness. Rest in peace, Mummymon, rest knowing that at least your awesomeness was acknowledged. By the way, here is [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPvdRC9Ce_A&NR=1 that scene]] - watch from 6 minutes in.
* [=MagnaAngemon=] again. He manages to fight the nigh-invincible [=BlackWarGreymon=] to a standstill, and then almost sucks the dark Digimon into the Gate of Destiny.
** Too bad it failed through no fault of his own.
* Why hasn't Magnamon been given one yet? Sure, it's technically one for Wormmon, but Magna Explosion qualifies. Not to mention his entrance in both the series and the movie (This is all dub info), the former has T.K. saying that his appearance alone changes everything, and the latter has both him and Golden Armour Rapidmon blowing apart a Mega Digimon that had taken on Patamon and Gatomon AT MEGA LEVEL AND WON. It doesn't do much, but looks epic. Not to mention that both times, Magnamon ditched the standard Digivolution montage, just appearing straight away, in the former example appearing with a brief tidbit of the main theme and the latter a more epic version of it.
* Mimi gets two in ''DigimonAdventure02''. First, she refuses to believe that Digitamamon turned evil and ''even takes at least one tackle'' while trying to debrainwash him, which Yolei finally does. And later, when the Chosen hesitate about calling Ken for help during a battle because they're not sure about which side he's truly on even after his HeelFaceTurn, Mimi grabs one of their Digivices and contacts him no matter what the others think.
** Don't forget her MegatonPunch to Sukamon and Chuumon when they showed up to hit on her again. The girl's TookALevelInBadAss indeed.
* [=WarGreymon=]'s appearance and battle with [=BlackWarGreymon=] was pure awesome. Agumon basically tries to reason with his dark half (once in the Digiworld, then in the real world), then transforms and kicks his ass when there's no other choice.
** Wormmon gets another CrowningMomentOfAwesome during said real world battle with [=BlackWarGreymon=], calling him out on his self-pity when Blackwargreymon claims that, aside from fighting, his life has no meaning.
* A big shout-out to the second to last episode when the current Digidestined used the power of the world that allowed wishes to digivolve their partners to like every evolution stage they had (Except for Magnamon and Patamon and Gatomon's Mega forms from the movie) and proceeded to give [=MaloMyotismon=] one ass-kicking after another.
* On a meta level, the delivery of Cody's parting words to Yukio Oikawa is the crowning moment of PhileceSampler['s] career.
* Like the Omnimon example above, Imperialdramon gets a crowning moment in achieving Paladin Mode. Omnimon, the strongest digimon the digidestined had known at that point, was easily defeated by Armaggedonmon, and when Imperialdramon tried to put up a last effort, he was beaten even easier. So the day looks bleak. Then Omnimon gave up his energy to Imperialdramon. His armor turns white and gets a BFG. He proceeds to take Armageddemon out with a single poke of his sword.

[[AC:Digimon Tamers]]
* Practically everything Rika and Renamon did prior to the former's {{Chickification}} qualifies. Ryo and Cyberdramon had just as many afterwards.
** Rika had plenty of Crowning Moments after she joined the main crew one of them being when she and Renamon had the fight and Rika being worried about her still went out to help Renamon, without having her modify cards - instead, she picked up a sharp stick not caring for her own safety and stabbed Harpymon in the back. Then there was that moment when they were fighting that other Deva wanted to get Renamon to join them, but Rika never lost her faith in Renamon enabling her to digivolve into Taomon. Then there was the Song of Sukuyamon episode when Rika and Renamon biomerged for the first time. Then the all the other times when she saved her team mates asses from the D-reaper agents, with little to no effort, while Ryo needed help defeating one agent. The same type that Rika treats as cannon fodder. Then there is the time where she decided to look for Impmon, ''despite all that he had done to them.'' {{Chickification}} only happens when a characters get weaker, Rika just got stronger, and smarter too. The fact that she is the first girl to achieve Mega alone qualifies her as awesome. And we only saw Ryo fight 4 times in the entire series, the last two fights he had help from Kazu & Kenta, and then Rika herself.
*** Rika didn't become weaker, she and Renamon actually ''gained strength'' in the ''other'' areas they were lacking strength in. That does NOT {{Chickification}} make, since [[RealWomenNeverWearDresses women are fucking allowed to not be shoehorned into "men with tits" stereotypes and STILL be considered strong]]
*** Even before that, Rika stands her ground and helps Renamon take on Dokugumon. Rika shows Renamon warmth and compassion for the first time. She not only gets the digivolution she wants, but also thaws a bit. Subtle but noticeable.
** Chickification? Really? I think you meant, "CharacterDevelopment".
* This troper's favorite moment was that of one of the baddies. Most ''{{Digimon}}'' villains do a lot of yelling and monologuing, so when Makuramon came in, blew away Taomon's forcefield, took Calumon (the cute li'l living PlotCoupon they'd been protecting for the ''entire arc'') and left, the whole thing over in ''seconds'' and nothing anyone could do about it... awesome.
* The battle between [[DigimonTamers Gallantmon and Beelzemon]]. After Guilmon finally came down off his Deadly Upgrade, he and Takato pulled off a miracle and spent the entire next episode throwing down with Beelzemon using attacks powerful enough to level the scenery. Megagargomon vs. Zhuqiaomon qualifies as well (there's just something about a giant, green bunny-mecha smacking around a virtual god using Tai-Chi and giant smiley missiles that warms this troper's blood-pumping muscle).
** Those are the happiest damn missiles you will ever see. This troper couldn't stop laughing after seeing them launched for the first time.
** Beelzemon vs Gallantmon has one specific scene that stands to mind. Gallantmon(Dukemon) does the TheSlowWalk ([[{{Expy}} a la gohan]] while sounding like a giant mecha) out of (his own) flaming inferno, dons his cape (putting out the fire behind him) and declares that the devas are no match for him as he is charging his attack. No more words needed.
** Guilmon and Terriermon got another moment soon after said battles. When the [[BigBad Big bird]] turned out to be not quite dead, our heroes were completely screwed. The kids were protected only by waning shield while Zhuqiaomon was bearing down on them. Guilmon and Terriemon nodded at each other and then proceeded to "jump out of the shield" to take on a beast that neither of their highest [[EvolutionaryLevels digivolutions]] could kill to save the others.
* Gallantmon Crimson Mode.
** [[spoiler: "Do you want to fly, Gallantmon?"]]
** Specifically, when Gallantmon Crimson Mode punches the most powerful [[TheDragon Agent]] in the stomach and kills it. Bear in mind that the entity that this agent belonged to was feared by the Digital World's version of gods.
*** [[spoiler:"WE DO DESERVE TO EXIST! ('''''punch''''') YOU DON'T! ('''''fatality''''')"]]
* Jeri Katou has ''two'' Moments of Awesome in the Orochimon episode. First, she tells her Digimon partner [[MegaNeko Leomon]] "Don't worry about me! I can deal with drunkards!" when she's being ''kidnapped'' by Orochimon himself. Later, when her friends come for her and Leomon fights Orochimon, [[spoiler: she reveals that she has a ''very'' rare [=LadyDevimon=] card and uses it ''perfectly'' despite this being her first real battle, letting Leomon finish Orochimon]].
** One that overlaps with TearJerker is [[spoiler: when she goes up to Gallantmon when he's about to kill Beelzemon (as punishment for killing Leomon, ''her partner'') and ''stops'' Gallantmon from doing so, since she doesn't want more Digimon to die and knows that [[IfYouKillHimYouWillBeJustLikeHim nothing will bring Leomon back to life.]].]]
** [[spoiler:Finally snapping out of her HeroicBSOD and standing up to the D-Reaper]].
* Despite the fact that it was the entire reason for him being introduced in the first place, Dobermon [[spoiler:sacrificing himself to give the Tamers the ability to Biomerge in the Real World]]. Also, Alice sticking with him even though she knew how it would end counts in This Troper's opinion.
* Impmon's CMOA is after his HeelFaceTurn, when he runs to help the main characters in the fight against the D-Reaper, armed with nothing but a ''toy gun'' given from his twin Tamers. His sheer determination to help them in order to somewhat atone for what he did allows him to evolve all the way to Beelzemon Blast Mode, and he nearly dies in a desperate attempt to rescue Juri so that he could forgive himself for killing Leomon.
** "I'M GONNA SAVE YOU JERI, IF IT'S THE LAST THING I FREAKIN' DO!"
** [[spoiler:"FIST! OF! '''THE BEAST KING!!!'''"]]
** Words cannot describe how awesome this moment is. I first saw it nearly a decade ago and it's still stayed with me all these years, one of those sequences I will never forget. I am not afraid to admit that I cried ManlyTears.
** After reading this I just had to look this episode up. So here it is, [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FlZtWrKaes Shadow of the Beast King]] (part 2), skip to about 1:58 for the whole buildup, inc. Chrona Blast and a recap of Impmon's story, or 6:50 if you want to get right to the awesome.
* Henry's father Janyu Lee deserves a mention for demonstrating true martial arts in the episode "Boar Wars". He's so '''fast''' most missed [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDLSbDbqmHw&t=6m30s it]]. Trully a hidden BadassBookworm, with a BadassLabcoat to match!
* In the dub of episode 26, which, by the way, was named [[BillAndTedsExcellentAdventure Kazu and Kenta's Excellent Adventure]] for added awesome, Jijimon and Babamon sound and act a LOT like Miracle Max and his wife from Film/ThePrincessBride.

[[AC:Digimon Frontier]]
* @/JusticeGundam's favourite season, despite all the flak it usually gets, has quite a few [=CMoA=]... but the last few episodes were what really got him to favour it. Namely, [[spoiler:the heroes defeating the Royal Knights, after having made progress after painful progress in previous fights during the latest 10 or so episodes -- they went from not even being able to touch them, to giving them a little pause, to actually harming them, and finally to defeating them both. And then, the final battle against the all-powerful Lucemon himself, with moons getting ripped apart by the villain's unimaginable power; Kouichi's sacrifice, the birth of Susanoomon, and the five kids joining together to destroy Lucemon's [[OneWingedAngel Satan Mode]], which in this troper's mind erased all the disappointment of Takuya and Kouji hogging the spotlight in the second half. The only other season with an equally epic ending is ''DigimonSavers!'']]
** ''Nothing'' could erase Takuya and Koji reducing everyone else to living {{Transformation Trinket}}s... but Frontier did have some great moments, like Mercurymon's XanatosGambit, Duskmon and Beowulfmon's grand battle, all ten Legendary Warriors coming together to put a beatdown on the Royal Knights, and ''Gotsumon'' of all 'mons (for non-fans...Gotsumon is a kid-sized rock Digimon and not ''anyone's'' idea of {{Badass}}, even though the ''Frontier'' version has a few tricks his short-lived ''[[DigimonAdventure Adventure]]'' counterpart didn't.) gets to digivolve and [[LetsGetDangerous get dangerous]].
** To expand on the above mentioned FinalBattle between Susanoomon and Lucemon Shadowlord Mode -- it's a {{BFS}}-wielding PhysicalGod vs Giant Dragon Satan ''IN SPACE!'' This sequence alone makes up for every flaw in the rest of the series.
* Underneath [[SpotlightStealingSquad all the]] [[PowerRangers season]] [[SeasonalRot backlash]], DigimonFrontier is just badass.
** Everything about the Kouji/Kouichi plot, which was foreshadowed as early as in ''episode one'', was [[CrowningMomentofAwesome badass]]. The Crowning Moment of Awesome of THIS Crowning Moment of Awesome was when [[spoiler:Kouichi sacrificed himself to save the Digital World and almost freaking died in the process.]] Dark plots and Digimon go hand in hand perfectly.
** Different troper from the above, but some love for the Mercuremon/Sefirotmon mini-arc is in order, particularly Tomoki's fight with Asuramon, and Junpei's... well, basically it was a fight against himself, and it was ''badass.''
*** Izumi got hers during the same arc. Izumi eats an apple that makes her relive her issues with making friends after moving back to Japan, while Ranamon gives her a HannibalLecture. Who breaks her out of her spell? Not the [=HoneyBeemon=], not her teammates. Instead, she breaks ''herself'' out of the spell by simply vowing that she will make up for her flaws and become kinder and stronger! [[PluckyGirl Now that's a strong will!]]
*** A moment for the villains; in the original Japanese, when Mercuremon became Black/Shadow Seraphimon, the music that played when he was beating up Takuya was ''Requiem''. Fans of series get a really threating villain, and fans of adventure can imagine that it is omegamon/omnimon who is doing the beating.
** Lucemon's first appearance. He shows up and [[spoiler: kills the Royal Knights, who have been beating the crap out of the heroes for the past 10-15 episodes, with ease.]] Oh yeah, and then he ''completely {{No Sell}}s two Mega level attacks'' and proceeds [[spoiler: to smash a moon in half '''with Takuya and Kouji's heads!!!''']]
*** Keep in mind, the [[FridgeLogic mathematics of the spirits]] makes it even more major: Each Human[=/=]Beast pair of spirits came from a Mega level Ancient Digimon. Logically, that makes their combined strength equal to a Mega (Human=Champion, Beast=Ultimate). Emperorgreymon and Magnagarurumon are each composed of ''5'' pairs of spirits, making them ''Mega x5!'', So when Lucemon so easily pwned them, he was stronger than ''that''!
*** Of course, they turn it around on him by becoming Susanoomon, who according to the above math, is a Mega x10! That's probably the highest [[PowerLevels Power Level]] yet seen in the franchise.
* Zoey's is when she got in front of a mirror and modeled/envisioned herself in skimpy bathing suits only two or three episodes after winning an eating contest. ''[[GratuitousEnglish Sexy dynamite!]]'' Lolicon fanservice implications aside, girls, ''that'' is what I call a positive body image!
** Um, she participates in an eating contest two episode ''after'' she has that vision.
*** It's still awesome, since she shows that she's got quite the good image of herself despite being in the age where many girls, rather understandable, have such low opinions on their looks and others.
* The Digimon in Episode 45 who stand up to the Royal Knights. Though seven of the nine got killed, it's refreshing to see [[TheUnchosenOne non-chosen]] Digimon [[BadassBystander taking the initiative]]. If only Koiji and Takuya had got there in time, [[CurbStompBattle they could all have contributed]] and the [[BoringInvincibleVillain Royal Knights]] arc could have been shorter and more epic, or [[TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot at least more interesting]].

[[AC:Digimon Savers]]
* Episode 38 in its entirety: the final showdown with Belphemon and Kurata's long awaited end.
** What makes it even better is that Kurata, the most CompleteMonster in Digimon history, [[spoiler: is practically ''begging for Burst [=ShineGreymon=] for mercy'' as he's marching towards him with a slow, UnflinchingWalk and a one of the most hate filled {{Death Glare}}s in Anime history. Kurata knows how utterly screwed he is and begs Masaru and [=ShineGreymon=] to have mercy on him. After all the absolutely terrible things Kurata did, seeing him brought down to begging for his life is extremely satisfying. Made even greater when they show him no mercy and finish the genocidal freak off for good.]]
*** --->'''[=Kurata=]''': Please! H-have pity on me!
--->'''[=Marcus=]''': Pity is ''all'' I ever had for you, KURATA!!! (PUNCH!)
* The battle with Craniummon (basically, a colossal knight Digimon); Masaru stops Shine Greymon from getting stabbed with a spear approximately the size of a skyscraper by ''punching it''. And it not only works, but it ''knocks Craniummon on his ass.''
** That's nothing, usually, it's the Digimon who defeat the enemy {{Mons}}. Masaru ended that fight by shattering Craniummom's unbreakable shield, with a blow from his ''bare fist''.
** Savers practically had one CMOA per episode. Usually it was Masaru punching the MonsterOfTheWeek in the face ''bare handed'' in order to get Agumon to evolve. Note that the very ''first'' MOTW was a [[{{AttackOfThe50FootWhatever}} 50-Foot tall chicken]].
* Nanami's is [[spoiler:after Touma defeats her, deliciously enough. He won the fight, but she won the war. Not only did she succeed in the destroying the dam and draining the water that protected [=ElDoradimon=], she severely wounded his confidence by pointing out that it wasn't his prized strategies that beat her; rather, it was Masaru's reckless hit-and-hit-hard tactics. Touma [[FakeDefector joining]] [[BigBad Kurata]] a few episodes later is suddenly much more plausible]].
* Touma revealing that [[spoiler:he didn't actually betray the team. "There's a simple reason for that. I placed a bomb in it."]]
* The entire final battle with Yggdrasil. [[spoiler:Masaru and Agumon pulling a ColossusClimb on the "God" of the Digital World, everyone else going through all their digivolution forms as they back them up, all while the Royal Knights are holding up the ''entire Digital World'' to prevent it from crashing into the real world; and when they reach the top and Yggdrasil manages to grab Masaru and Agumon with its strangling CombatTentacles, ''Agumon'' enters Burst Mode and gets surrounded by a flaming draconic aura and blows a gaping hole in Yggdrasil that makes him blow up and reduce to his sleep mode size(an odd crystalline figure) to retreat, prompting Masaru to shout "YOU'RE NOT GETTING AWAY!" and do a huge flying leap off of Agumon's back and ''[[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu punch Yggdrasil so hard he blows up in a cataclysmic explosion.]]'']] ''AWESOME.''
* Yoshino gets one later, going up against some sort of test-of-strength punching machine. With her Digisoul powered up, she delivers a punch which overloads the machine.
** The episode in which she battled Ivan was pretty awesome too. Particularly the BARREL SMASH!
*** What, no mention of her matador action against Cerberusmon in episode 30? She stood it down without fear and pulled off a very clever startegy in order to get Marcus to activate his Digisoul.
* Rosemon had one in episode 37 of ''Savers'': Agumon is inside his egg, [=MirageGaogamon=] about to get crushed by Kurata... When all of the sudden, she stops him by swinging her whip at him and shouting: "Don't forget that we're still here as well!"
** And then several episodes earlier, killing a swarm of Dokugumon as Sunflowmon. Pretty much makes up for [[FauxActionGirl her horrible track record]] until then, don't you think?
* Merukimon get's a fairly impressive one in episode 25 of Savers. [[spoiler: After getting shot in the back by Gizmon AT's deleter beam thingy, he gets up, in extreme pain, charges forward and flattens Gizmon XT [[MegatonPunch with a single punch]], smashing it's face? in and weakening it, all after Gizmon evolved to Perfect level and whooped the PowerTrio six ways to Sunday, and with a huge hole in his torso no less. He then gives his dramatic FinalSpeech, finally spurring Ikuto to make Falcomon evolve to Perfect and finish off Gizumon XT InTheNameOfTheMoon.]]
** [[spoiler: Crowmon's beatdown of Gizumon XT also counts, as he pummels him in ''two moves''. One to crush its ChestBlaster and slam it into the wall and then obliterating it with is Savage Emperor attack.]]
* The dubbing team get one when they were faced with the little problem of Disney wanting a giant bomb Digimon gone. Thier solution? Turn it into a giant orange Digimon, let KirkThornton voice it and turn it into Don Patch. In short, they turned an editing situation into a ''BoboboboBobobo'' reference (which had completed its run shortly before ''Data Squad'' started). GET UP, STAND UP!

[[AC:Awesome/DigimonXrosWars]]

to:

--->'''[=LadyDevimon=]''': You broke it!
--->'''[=MegaKabuterimon=]''': Awww...send me the bill.

* Gallantmon Crimson Mode.

*** --->'''[=Kurata=]''': Please! H-have pity on me!

*** His line to Davis in the ''Revenge Of Diaboromon'' counts as another CMOA. When Daisuke is exhausted from running to Rainbow Bridge and can barely keep up, Ken turns around, smirks, and says, "Well, at this rate, you'll never get the [soccer] ball from me." * When considering that Takeru was mostly the cute, helpless kid of the group in the previous season and how his older second season self seems generally affable, his many moments of righteous fury in regards to the actions of the Digimon Kaiser and Dark Digimon can be rather violent. This is first most evident in episode 2x19 wherein, in a fit of rage, Takeru physically attacks the Digimon Kaiser after [[http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i320/mpcp13/TakeruDarkAmusement.jpg smiling in dark amusement at the latter's whip-induced injury of his face]].

* Since Wormmon has spent the first 20 episodes of ''[[DigimonAdventure02 02]]'' being kicked around by Ken, the moment where he goes against him and leads Daisuke and Chibimon to Ken's main power source is pretty cool. The moment where he hijacks the Devidramon they were riding, ''knocks Ken off it, rams Chimeramon,'' frees Magnamon, and gives Magnamon the power to defeat Chimeramon via HeroicSacrifice? *** His line to Daisuke in the ''Revenge Of Diablomon'' counts as another CMOA. When Daisuke is exhausted from running to Rainbow Bridge and can barely keep up, Ken turns around, smirks, and says, "Well, at this rate, you'll never get the [soccer] ball from me." Daisuke tells him to shut up and then starts running again. Apparently, Ken can still figure out how to persuade people into doing what he wants, even if he's not the Kaiser anymore. Plus it's a cute FriendshipMoment.

* Why hasn't Magnamaon been given one yet? Sure it's technicly one for Wormmon, but Magna Explosion qualifies. Not to mention his entrance in both the series and the movie (This is all dub info), the former has T.K saying that his appearence alone changes everything, and the latter has both him and Golden Armour Rapidmon blowing apart a Mega Digimon that had taken on Patamon and Gatomon AT MEGA LEVEL AND WON. It doesn't do much, but looks epic. Not to mention that both times, Magnamon ditched the standard Digivolution montage, just appearing straight away, in the former example appearing with a brief tidbit of the main theme and the latter a more epic version of it.
* Mimi gets two in ''02''. First, she refuses to believe that Digitamamon turned evil and ''even takes at least one tackle'' while trying to debrainwash him, which Miyako finally does. And later, when the Chosen hesitate about calling Ken for help during a battle because they're not sure about which side he's truly on even after his HeelFaceTurn, Mimi grabs one of their Digivices and contacts him no matter what the others think.

* Practically everything Ruki and Renamon did prior to the former's {{Chickification}} qualifies. Ryou and Cyberdramon had just as many afterwards.
** This troper wonders if the previous troper even watched the series, Ruki had plenty of Crowning Moments after she joined the main crew one of them being when she and Renamon had the fight and Ruki being worried about her still went out to help Renamon, without having her modify cards - instead, she picked up a sharp stick not caring for her own safety and stabbed Harpymon in the back. Then there was that moment when they were fighting that other Deva wanted to get Renamon to join them, but Ruki never lost her faith in Renamon enabling her to evolve into Taomon. Then there was the Song of Sukuyamon episode when Ruki and Renamon biomerged for the first time. Then the all the other times when she saved her team mates asses from the D-reaper agents, with little to no effort, while Ryo needed help defeating one agent. The same type that Ruki treats as cannon fodder. Then there is the time where she decided to look for Impmon, ''despite all that he had done to them.'' {{Chickification}} only happens when a characters get weaker, Ruki just got stronger, and smarter too. The fact that she is the first girl to achieve Mega alone qualifies her as awesome. And we only saw Ryo fight 4 times in the entire series, the last two fights he had help from Hirokazu and Shiuchon, and then Ruki herself.
*** Well said, troper. Ruki didn't become weaker, she and Renamon actually ''gained strength'' in the ''other'' areas they were lacking strength in. That does NOT {{Chickification}} make, since [[RealWomenNeverWearDresses women are fucking allowed to not be shoehorned into "men with tits" stereotypes and STILL be considered strong]]
*** Even before that, Ruki stands her ground and helps Renamon take on Dokugumon. Ruki shows Renamon warmth and compassion for the first time. She not only gets the digivolution she wants, but also thaws a bit. Subtle but noticable.

** Another thing from the final fight with Piedmon that counts is Mimi leading a GondorCallsForAid against Piedmon's army of Vilemon. She may have had trouble getting to the fight, but she sure made her entrence count big time. The beatdown all the chosen Digimon hand to Piedmon afterwards also counts.
