The new series is slated to premiere in 2024.

A new comics, titled ''Goldorak'', was created by a French-Belgian team of authors (Dorison, Bajram, Cossu, Sentenac and Guillo) with Go Nagai's green light, and published on October 15, 2021. Those are dangerous to the lower-tech Terran forces, but not so much for the eponymous giant robot. Despite the massive size difference, the Spazer can easily compete in maneuverability with the mini-ufos, and even when attempting to overwhelm it with their numbers, Grendizer destroys them in drove thanks to its numerous, superior weapons.

* BlackAndWhiteMorality: At first sight the Mazinger trilogy seems belonging to this trope since the the heroes are mostly good guys and the villains tend to be pure evil, but in reality the morality in these series is more greyish than it seems. [[MadScientist Dr.]] [[BigBad Hell]] [[FreudianExcuse became mad after having endured years of abuse, insults and mockery from everybody (including his parents) since he was a little kid, and even when he made a good action, he usually got beaten and scorned]]. [[Anime/GreatMazinger Great General of Darkness]] wanted to take over the surface world because the Mykene civilization had been forced to live underground for millennia and he wanted his people to enjoy again things humans take for granted (such as seeing sunlight and breathing fresh air). [[Anime/UFORoboGrendizer Emperor Vega]] began invading other planets because his own homeworld was dying, and several of his henchmen were {{Well Intentioned Extremist}}s wanting to establish a benevolent dictatorship because they genuinely believed Earth people would be better off. And, frankly, humans in [[Anime/MazingerZ the]] [[Anime/GreatMazinger Mazinger]] [[Anime/UFORoboGrendizer trilogy]] often acted like [[UngratefulBastard utter]] [[HumansAreBastards bastards]] and forced the heroes to ponder why they bothered.

* TheGoodKingdom: Fleed from ''Anime/UFORoboGrendizer'' -one of the ''Anime/MazingerZ'' series- fits into this, in spite of being the entire planet. Benevolent monarch? Checked. A prince who is also TheHero (Duke Fleed) and a Princess [[spoiler:(Maria Grace Fleed)]]? Checked. Princess has a romantic relationship with one of the heroes [[spoiler:[[Anime/MazingerZ Kouji Kabuto]]]]? Checked. GhibliHills surrounding the ShiningCity? Checked. * MidairCollision: In the ''Anime/UFORoboGrendizer tai Anime/GreatMazinger'' feature, ''[[Anime/MazingerZ Kouji Kabuto]]'' and ''[[Anime/UFORoboGrendizer Duke Fleed]]'' shot a [[{{Robeast}} Vega Beast]] down. It crashed down into the -previously heavily damaged- enemy spacecraft, blowing it up.

* PilotMovie: The eventual ''Anime/MazingerZ'' spinoff ''Anime/UFORoboGrendizer'' started off as a 30 minute movie named UchuEnbanDaisenso.

A while ago, the Vega homeworld became unstable and fell into ruin due to [[DugTooDeep its inhabitants overmining and overexploiting]] [[{{Unobtainium}} Vegatron, a powerful radioactive ore]]. [[TheEmpire Seeking to find another planet to settle on]], [[BigBad King Vega's]] armies started attacking and conquering neighbor worlds, like [[TheGoodKingdom planet Fleed]], a highly advanced but peaceful and idyllic world. The Vegan Alliance easily succeeded on taking over the planet, but [[NuclearWeaponsTaboo the Vegatron bombs]] that they used to annihilate the Fleedian army and cities [[HoistByHisOwnPetard turned the planet into an inhabitable radioactive wasteland]].

* CharacterDevelopment: At the same time Duke is angsty because [[spoiler: he's dying via a radiation-inflicted wound he suffered during his escape and ''knows'' his days are numbered]], his best friend Hikaru Makiba gets tired of being a DistressedDamsel [[TookALevelInBadass and trains to become a pilot and Action Girl]], etc.

** Kouji / Hikaru: In one episode it was told Kouji was infatuated with Hikaru but he never tried anything with her out of respect for his friend Duke. Cue [[spoiler:Maria]] showing up in the next episode (and keep in mind it was Sayaka who was meant to show up instead of her).
** [[spoiler:Duke / Rubina]]: [[ArrangedMarriage Their parents got them engaged when they were kids]], becoming a ChildhoodFriendRomance. Then her father invaded Duke's planet, killing the whole population and ''accidentally'' turning it into a radioactive wasteland, and they became StarCrossedLovers. Later she met Duke and tried to convince him the only way to stop the war was they getting married. Duke accepted, but [[spoiler:she got murdered shortly after for a scorned suitor.]]
** [[spoiler:Duke / Hikaru]] and [[spoiler:Kouji / Maria]]: Both pairings kind of sunk at the end of the series when [[spoiler:Duke and Maria]] left Earth, forcing themselves to leave their friends behind for the sake of rebuilding their homeworld.
