* InconsistentColoring: Vega is depicted as a DarkSkinnedBlonde in the opening and his debut episode, but during the ball and his fight with Ken his skin is a lighter tone.

* RealityEnsues: In the games, Vega's claw acted as an extension of his fist and only gave him more range in his attacks, while in the anime his claw enables him to wound, stab, and impale Ken until he's in danger of bleeding out.

* AdaptationDyeJob: For some reason, Ken has red hair instead of blond in this series.

* {{Brainwashed}}: Chun-Li, [[spoiler:after Vega gives her a "love potion".]] This is [[FanDisservice creepy]] since Chun-Li is only ''fifteen'' in this particular continuity.

** In the second episode, Ryu and Ken go to a bar near the Air Force base and pick a fight with Guile's squad, where they mop the floor with them. It ends on a cliffhanger just as the man, himself, arrives. Suffice to say, Guile wasn't happy with what he saw, as he proceeds [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown to beat the crap out of Ryu.]] Ken tries to return the favor in the following episode, but gets his ass handed to him as well, due to Guile's combat pragmatism.

* CutShort: ''Street Fighter II V'' was planned to last a full 51 episode run, but because of underwhelming ratings (due to the show airing against ''Manga/CrayonShinChan'' on the same time slot), it was cut down to 29 episodes. As a result, the show underwent drastic rewrites at the last minute, with the most notable changes being Balrog's portrayal as an Interpol double agent without any fighting skills (despite earlier promotional art showing him in full boxing gear), in order to wrap up the show's storyline as quickly as possible. This also meant that four of the fighters from the games (E. Honda, Blanka, T. Hawk and Dee Jay), never got to show up.

* EvenEvilHasStandards: After Bison [[spoiler:kills Nash, he tells Zoltar to give his lifeless body a proper burial.]]

* HeroicBSOD: Fei Long suffers one when [[spoiler:he learns that his mentor Dorai almost died.]] He ends up [[CryCute breaking down in tears]]. [[spoiler:He recovers in time to fight the person who almost did Dorai in, Cammy, and makes her have a HeelFaceTurn.]]

** Cammy's photo during her time with [[SecretIntelligenceService MI6]] has her looking like her appearance in the games.[[note]]Albeit without the scar.[[/note]]
** While under the influence of Bison's brainwashing, Chun-Li dresses just like she does in the games.[[note]]Albeit with several changes: her outfit is gray on white rather than blue on gold, the lower part is fashioned after a pair of shorts, she wears kneepads and she doesn't wear her hair tied up in buns.[[/note]]

* YoungerAndHipper: As mentioned above, several characters are teenagers.

** This is done to Ashura's right-hand man Donu [[spoiler:by Soong, the mole planted in the police by the organization]].

* DubNameChange:
** Guile's doomed combat buddy is called Nash for most of the English dub rather than Charlie. At the time the anime was made, Charlie/Nash was just a name mentioned in ''Street Fighter II''. By the time the dub was made, Charlie/Nash had already made his fighting game debut in ''VideoGame/StreetFighterAlpha'' with a completely different character design than the one he had on the show, so the English dub kept his name as Nash. The dub later tries to fix this as Guile shouts "CHARLIIIIIE!" as [[spoiler:he dies from Bison's death grip.]] This would follow the later naming convention that his full name is Charlie Nash.
** As with the games themselves, Boxer = Balrog, Claw = Vega, Dictator = Bison.

* LaughingMad: Bison does this when he finds out that two of the attendees at the masquerade ball are Chun-Li (Dorai's daughter) and Ken (a member of the Masters family) in "The Unveiled Ruler".

* {{Brainwashed}}: Chun-Li, [[spoiler:after Vega gives her a "love potion".]] This is kinda [[FanDisservice creepy]] since Chun-Li is only ''fifteen'' in this particular continuity.

* LoveMakesYouCrazy: Vega becomes obsessed with Chun-Li, after seeing her in a crowd, and even sneaks into her bedroom to steal a kiss from her, while she was sleeping. The kiss drugs her, taking effect during Vega's match with Ken.

* MasqueradeBall: Vega cordially invites Chun-Li and Ken to be his guests of honor for what they think will be a ballroom dance, not knowing Vega's true intentions. The alleged "ball" is actually a cage match between Ken and Vega. Chun-Li watches it in the audience while in a trance-like state.[[note]]As a result of being drugged by Vega when he kissed her.[[/note]]

* AdaptationalBadass: Not a character, but the [[KamehameHadoken Hadoken]] gets a power upgrade for the anime, going from a fairly standard ranged attack to [[spoiler: Ryu's ultimate move that finishes off the BigBad.]]

* AgeLift: Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li are in their teens, despite their game counterparts being in their 20's.[[note]]Their year of births were changed from '64, '65 and '68 respectively to '77, '78' and '80.[[/note]] Other characters like Guile[[note]]birthdate changed from '60 to '73[[/note]] and Sagat[[note]]from '55 to '69[[/note]] are also noticeably younger.

** In the second Japanese opening, Balrog (known as M. Bison in Japan) is seen wearing his boxing gear, though he doesn't actually wear it in the series. Also, the ID he shows to Cammy states that he likes fighting and gambling.

* NamedByTheAdaptation: Chun-Li's otherwise unnamed father is given the name of Dorai in this series. While this was just one of many names given to him in various adaptations in Japan, it was later reused in UDON's comic book series. Vega is also given the full name of "Vega Fabio La Cerda".

''Street Fighter II V'' [[note]]That's "two-vee", not "two-five". It's a pun on the word "TV". So the title is more or less "Street Fighter TV", though the "V" stands for "Voyage"[[/note]] is an anime series based on Creator/{{Capcom}}'s successful ''VideoGame/StreetFighterII'' games, which aired on Nippon Television in 1995. Produced by Creator/GroupTAC and directed by Gisaburo Sugii, the same crew who worked on ''Anime/StreetFighterIITheAnimatedMovie'', ''Street Fighter II V'' centers around alternate interpretations of the iconic World Warriors, with younger versions of the duo Ryu and Ken serving as the central characters.
