* AdaptationalBadass: Following in the footsteps of the first anime, [[spoiler:Adachi]] goes from a fairly easy boss to [[spoiler:defeating every single Persona Yu summons against him, including ''Helel'', with Magatsu Izanagi only vanishing from a suicide attack by Yu's Izanagi. Then, once Yu obtains Magatsu Izanagi from completing Adachi's social link, it proceeds to defeat Ameno-Sagiri in a single strike.]]

* CuttingOffTheBranches: As far as the anime's concerned, Marie is Yu's canon LoveInterest.

* VillainEpisode: Episode 6 "I told you Yu" focuses on the SerialKiller [[spoiler:Adachi]].

* LateArrivalSpoiler: Like [[Anime/Persona4TheAnimation the previous P4 anime]], the anime assumes most of the viewers have already played the game, and shows big reveals with much less fanfare, including showing Teddie's human form in the opening, Ameno-Sagiri making a cameo in Episode 4, Adachi's killings shown before Nanako gets thrown into the TV, and Izanami making named cameos in some episodes. The Investigation Team's dungeons are completely skipped, and their personal crises also take a back seat (since, y'know, they've already been addressed in the previous series).

* LateArrivalSpoiler: Like [[Anime/Persona4TheAnimation the previous P4 anime]], the anime assumes most of the viewers have already played the game, and shows big reveals with much less fanfare, including showing Teddie's human form in the opening, Ameno-Sagiri making a cameo in Episode 4, Adachi's killings shown before Nanako gets thrown into the TV, and Izanami making named cameos in some episodes.

* LighterAndSofter: While the murder mystery still happened, this adaptation focuses more on the SliceOfLife aspects that come with the game.
** CerebusSyndrome: Then Episode 6 rolls around and focuses on [[spoiler:Adachi]], and the gloves come off.

* AscendedExtra: While Marie was a fairly prominent Social Link in the original ''Golden'' (especially if you managed to max it [[spoiler:and unlock her dungeon]]), she's promoted to the {{Deuteragonist}} in this adaptation, right behind Yu.

** Has new scenes with Yu that never occurred in the game.

* ButtMonkey: Yes, this is technically a NewGamePlus, but Yu still has his moments of being a punching bag.

* BlandNameProduct: "Pamasonic" for Panasonic and "Atashi Beer" for "Asahi Beer". The latter has the same standard trademark as Asahi Breweries.

* TheAce: Yu quite clearly enjoys the perks that come with NewGamePlus.[[spoiler:Sadly this does not help when dealing with Kusumi-no-Okami and Izanami.]]

* AdaptationPersonalityChange: A minor case with [[spoiler: Adachi]]. In the game, the first murder was an accident (as he admitted to just wanting to scare Yamano). In this adaptation he becomes aware of his powers very quickly and uses them to punish Yamano instead.

* CooldownHug: How Marie deals wth [[spoiler:Izanami]]. Given that they're [[spoiler:one and the same person]], this results in [[spoiler:Izanami being absorbed by Marie]].
* CurbStompBattle: [[spoiler: Ameno sagiri, went from being the fake final boss to being dispatched with a single slice]].

* ForWantOfANail: Because Yu manages to curb-stomp Ameno-Sagiri, his friends didn't get to evolve their personas in that fight.[[spoiler:Subverted later on when the team fights Kusumi-no-Okami.]]

** The anime only focusing on new content and breezing through battles can be seen almost as a SpeedRun. Interestingly, all of the events from the original animation can be stiched with this animation as well with no problems since they occur on different but ordered dates.

* TheAce: Yu quite clearly enjoys the perks that come with NewGamePlus.[[spoiler:Sadly this does not help when dealing with Kusimi-no-Okami and Izanami.]]

** The series focuses solely on the scenes exclusive to ''Golden'', leaving the main murder plot OutOfFocus. Yukiko and Kanji's dungeons are also timeskipped over.

* CombatBreakdown: Yu's fight with [[spoiler: Adachi and Magatsu Izanagi]] turns pretty brutal. They both throw everything they've got at each other, and Yu goes through his entire roster of persona's[[note]]the Ultimate Persona of each Arcana representing his friends in the Investigation Team (Mada, Futsunushi, Scathach, Odin, Ishtar, Norn and Helel) as well as Dojima and Nanako (Kohryu and Sraosha)[[/note]], ending with a CrossCounter between Izanagi and [[spoiler: it's evil counterpart]]. Just when it seems like they're both too exhausted to keep fighting, Yu ''charges'' at [[spoiler: Adachi]], slugs 'em in the face, get's slugged back, tries to tackle the Serial killer, messes up and gets thrown onto a table (shattering it), gets back up before [[spoiler: Adachi]] can shoot him, ''headbutts'' him, then pins the guy to the ground and starts [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown beating his face to a pulp]]! ''DAMN!''

** Adachi also gets expanded upon, where in game he is a NPC who gets Social Link in ''Golden'' (aside of [[spoiler:him being the killer]]), he gets an entire episode focusing on him, notably showing him before [[spoiler:the two murders]]. He has an entire monologue within as well, and if you watch this episode in order alongside the original animation's episodes as well, you'll find out [[spoiler:that in Episode 22, he was [[BlatantLies lying to the Investigation Team]] to get them ''intentionally'' riled up. (Adachi made sexual advances, not Namatame, on both Amano and Saki.) He just didn't expect the team to ''[[{{Determinator}} continue investigating]]'' after he said it.]]

** Marie's use of the electric guitar in the 5th episode has an electrical rendition of the Velvet Room theme song.
