* AdaptationalIntelligence: Piyoko is a lot smarter here, and comes up with several schemes of her own whereas she is usually a HarmlessVillain. It's especially impressive as she is actually younger here.

* AdaptationalNiceGirl: Aside from ''[[Anime/DiGiCharatWinterGarden Winter Garden]]'' this series features the nicest portrayal of Dejiko. She is incredibly kind and selfless, and her mission in the series is to make others happy. However, she still does have a temper and regularly throws hissy fits.

* AdaptationalVillainy: Piyoko is eviler than her original counterpart, with her actively trying to cause harm to Dejiko and her friends. Most of the schemes in the original series involved either kidnapping Dejiko or just trying to mildly annoy/inconvenience others.

* BigBad: The Deji-Devil and Piyoko are the main antagonists of the series and are often the ones who cause trouble and conflict for our heroes. The Deji-Devil is stated to be the leader and is the one to come up with the plans while Piyoko is the one who puts them into action, although these roles do get swapped on the occasion.

* CharacterCheck: While Dejiko is definitely much nicer here than how she was in the original series, we still see the occasional moment where she acts like her usual aggressive self. In Episode 17, after Gema cracks a joke at her expense, she gets visibly annoyed and shoots him out of a cannon in retaliation. A brief joke is also made about this change in characterization when Dejiko is battling against an impostor and begins to insult her, the fake says that the real Dejiko would never insult someone.

Predictably, this ends up costing Piyoko the game and Dejiko wins.
