Added DiffLines:

* PosthumousCharacter: As we find out fairly early on, [[spoiler: Narihisago's wife and daughter]] are long dead.
** Played With in the case of Kaeru-chan: every time a Great Detective jumps into a well, she is already dead. But as Narihisago keeps reminding himself, she is just an abstract concept that only exists within the well. The very purpose of her "existence" is to act as a murder victim, so that the Detective has a case to solve.

Added DiffLines:

* ImpossiblyCoolClothes: Played with. The opening scene of the series (and the promotional art) makes it look like the series is going for this, based on the first we see of Narihisago and his outfit. But it turns out the trope only applies to detectives' appearances in the Well. Outside, clothes are fairly standard. That said, YouGottaHaveBlueHair still applies, even outside the MentalWorld.
