* MasochismTango: Integra and Alucard. Their dynamics (and characterizations) changed from BodyguardCrush in the Manga to MasochismTango in the Tv series.

* {{UST}}: There seems to be even more of it between Alucard and Integra in the anime.
** It isn't that they have more. But their dynamics (and characterizations) changed from BodyguardCrush in the Manga to MasochismTango in the Tv series. There is certainly more tension overall, but it's ''less'' properly romantic. Although WordOfGod stated Integra's feelings in the last DVD booklet to balance the deal.

** DarkerAndEdgier: His relationship with Integra is far more twisted than the UndyingLoyalty of the Manga. He's more of a PsychoticManchild in the TV series. There is also the whole government conspiracy which wasn't present. The ending has Hellsing disbanded and framed as traitors.

** It isn't that they have more. But their dynamics (and characterizations) changed from BodyguardCrush in the Manga to MasochismTango in the Tv series. There is certainly more tension overall, but it's ''less'' properly romantic. For example, Alucard in the manga [[spoiler:is willing ignore a war, his enemies attacking him and focuses on talking and greeting Integra as his Countess, after a very interesting narrative of past romantic reasons of his voyage while the pages are matching what he does presently]]. In the Tv series, on the other hand, Alucard almost ''threatens'' Integra against being an obstacle between him and his battle against the True Undead, abandons Hellsing to search him out without her permission and this almost gets her killed. He gets more thoughtful after this happened to her and their relationship improved, but this tension wasn't played in a completely positive light. Although WordOfGod flat out stated Integra's feelings in the last DVD booklet.

It\'s not subverted, the trope itself doesn\'t have anything to do with the permanance of the beheading. It\'s just \"character holding a severed head\".
