* IllBoy: [[spoiler:Seth/0018 was made sickly and put in a coma by Black Ghost's experiments. His older twin sister, Eva/0015, made a DealWithTheDevil with Dr. Adams, who was looking for a test subject to do his demonic-cyborg hybrid experiments on, under the belief that being fused with a demon will cure Seth/0018. It didn't work, instead [[GoneHorriblyRight going horribly right]] (at least for Dr. Adams).]]

* AntiVillain: 0015 is a borderline Villain In-Name Only. Unlike the other High-Teen Cyborgs, she doesn't show any animosity towards the 00 Cyborgs and doesn't have any real interest in fighting them. [[spoiler: Her only concern is doing whatever it takes to save her brother, Seth. When Seth and Atun [[FusionDance fuse]], she tries to defeat the demon after Atun not only murders Dr. Adams, but reveals that there's barely anything left of her brother in their new existence. After Atun beats her senseless, she rescues Miki, having realized that trying to save Seth had been AllForNothing. She also urges the other High-Teen Cyborgs to stop fighting the 00 Cyborgs, as Dr. Adams death defeats the purpose of continuing the battle and that Atun is now the bigger threat]].

* GenreSavvy: When the 00 Cyborgs first encounter the High-Teen Numbers, 002 correctly guesses that they're assassins sent by Black Ghost.

* Devilman finishes off Pazuzu by slicing him in half after tossing him off a cliff.

* MakeMeWannaShout: The first demon Devilmn deals with in the OVA, Pazuzu, can produce a MightyRoar capable of splintering trees and damaging the surrounding terrain.

* BloodierAndGorier: Whenever the Devilman parts of the story kick in, expect this. It contrasts interestingly enough with the 009 parts of the story, which were mostly battles against fellow cyborgs, and therefore not as bloody.

* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: [[spoiler: 0017 meets his end when Azazel [[CatchAndReturn catches his ice and redirects it back at him]] in the form of a blade, cutting 0017 in half at the waist]].

* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: Atun's grudge against Amon is due to the fact that he could never establish himself as stronger than Amon. Naturally, he shifts this grudge onto Akira/Devilman who angrily tells him multiple times that he isn't Amon.

* DeusExitMachina: Inverted. The movie makes it a plot point that, were it not for [[spoiler:Eva's psychic powers waking him up]], Ivan would have slept through the entire thing.

* BigBadDuumvirate: Dr. Adams alliance with the demon Atun drives the plot. [[spoiler:Eventually though, Atun kills Adams and becomes the sole BigBad.]]

* CurbStompBattle: [[spoiler: Azazel thoroughly outclasses everybody. he makes hilariously quick work of the High-Teen Number Cyborgs, even taking out 0016 and 0017 in [[OneHitKill one hit each]]. He also mops the floor with the combined force of 009 and Devilman]].

The OVA takes place right before the FinalBattle against Black Ghost in ''Manga/Cyborg009'' and final arc of ''Manga/{{Devilman}}''.
