* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Damian Wayne is usually on the side of the heroes in various incarnations but he's almost always been portrayed as being [[AntiHero anti-heroic]], rough-around-the-edges, and anti-social to various degrees. Here, almost all his rough edges are smoothed out and Damian is a much more pleasant and jovial character, displaying almost none of the sociopathic qualities he has in other incarnations.
** Marginally, but Joker is not an abusive manipulator to Harley. Here she is a jovial accomplice and Joker is just as jovial in kind. When they both lose their memories for a time, they easily transition into being a married couple.

** Gorilla Grodd started as a Franchise/TheFlash villain, and while treated as a general DCU villain nowadays he's rarely considered a nemesis to Batman. [[note]]The primary exception to this is ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheBraveAndTheBold'', in which Grodd considers himself to be Batman's sworn nemesis to the point of obsession.[[/note]] Here, he's one of the villains. Presumably because Grodd is a far more plausible source for a time machine than any of Batman's more traditional enemies.

** Harley [[DropTheHammer uses a massive mallet]] shaped like a Kabuki drum.

* JapanTakesOverTheWorld:[[spoiler:Shown in the ending, as a result of the advanced technology and tools left behind by all the supervillains and Batman's crew, which allows Japan to effectively take over the modern era, giving everything in Gotham an Eastern motif. * GutturalGrowler: Red Hood speaks with a deep and raspy voice, making him far more menacing than most incarnations.
