* SkunkStripe: A dead giveaway on someone being possessed by the Bugged Ones. The bigger the stripe, the stronger they are.

* OverlyLongName: Professor Latu[[note]]Tejasvi Najawardene Bengalbengal Rajarajamaharaja Vierendravarendra...[[/note]], so she simply goes by "Professor" or "[[LastNameBasis Latu]]" on occasion.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: After Tamotsu's intense training montage for the Street Figther V tournament, he gets Perfected in the first round since none of that actually involved playing and getting better at the game. [[spoiler:It does come in handy in the end though.]]

* ShoutOut:
** Tamotsu doing a handstand while playing ''Street Fighter V'' alludes to an old anime called Anime/ArcadeGamerFubuki, who gains super gamer powers when she flashes her magic gamer panties.
** Three of the figurines shown during episode 11 were the main characters of ''Manga/SoreGaSeiyuu''.
** When some foreigners come to Akiba, they have a familiar-looking [[Franchise/SouthPark paper cutout mouth movement]] belonging to Canadians.
** The final scene, [[spoiler: which has Arisa and Nikawa [[MomentKiller interrupting]] [[AlmostKiss a moment]] between Tamotsu and Mayo and takes them into the future]], is very similar to the ending of the first ''Film/BackToTheFuture'' movie.

* ZettaiRyouiki: Arisa wears thigh-high socks as part of her maid costume. Niwaka's default outfit also has this.

* {{FanDisservice}}: Lots of it all the time, Such when the waves from the radio tower were unleashes, Arisa getting tied up and slammed many times by powerful robot, and the entire town almost gettign eaten up by a bugged one, nearly all of them destroy Arisa's cosplays.

* {{Fanservice}}: Loads of it, just like the games. If there's a Bugged One attack, expect there to be lots of people, male and female, left in their underwear or naked by the end of it.

** In Episode 6, Mofmap stands in for Sofmap, a Japanese electronics retailer.

* TheCameo: Kati from the ''Akiba's Trip'' game can be seen chatting with a fellow maid at a restaurant Tamotsu and Matome visit in Episode 10.

** Three of the figurines shown during episode 11 were the main characters of ''Anime/SoreGaSeiyuu''.

* AssociationFallacy: Tamotsu and Arisa become friends through this. They both want the same limited edition figurine and have a deep passion for that character, so obviously they can trust each other! (It actually seems to be working out well so far.)

* SolemnEndingTheme: Episode 6 uses a softer credits theme compared to other episodes and does not use the usual [[CreditsRunningSequence Credits Walking Sequence]].

** Averted and lampshaded in episode 4's OnTheNext segment. When Tamotsu announces that the next episode will feature StreetFighterV, Niwaka objects that he's supposed to make up a similar-sounding name. Tamotsu replies by announcing that they're being officially supported.

** In Episode 7, Tamotsu's face swells after Niwaka slaps him and then hits him with Maotome's bat. He gets better right in the next scene.

* YouCantGoHomeAgain: In Episode 2, it's revealed that Tamotsu is stuck in Akihabara [[spoiler:as a direct result of Matome giving him powers, as there is a wall erected around Akihabara keeping all Bugged Ones and their familiars inside.]]

** Matome goes to a Carl's Jr. in Episode 3.
