* Retcon: As ''Nine Songs'' was created around seven years after third season of ''Qin's Moon'' (when [[spoiler:Chilian's]] backstory with the Han Kingdom was revealed), this inevitably happens from time-to-time. For example, when Hong Lian first met Wei Zhuang in ''Qin's Moon'', he had brown hair and it only turned white later. In ''Nine Songs'', his hair was white from the start, before he even met her.

Added DiffLines:

* BeautyIsNeverTarnished: After years spent in a massive water tank, Yanling Ji's makeup hasn't so much as smudged.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: The snake Hong Lian gets her poisonous blood and snake affinity from helps her because she saved it while it was fighting another snake and then tried to help it escape from Baiyue's poison specialist.
* BigDamnHeroes: As with ''Animation/QinsMoon'', this trope comes up a ''lot'', usually in regards either Zinu, Wei Zhuang, or Nilin jumping in to save Han Fei. During the fight with Zetian in the Cold Palace, Wei Zhuang lampshades it after arriving just in time to save Han Fei (again).
--> '''Wei Zhuang to Han Fei:''' Is your battle strategy to wait for me to resolve things?

Added DiffLines:

* ChainmailBikini: Yanling Ji's armor isn't chainmail, but it is a bikini.

Added DiffLines:

* OurVampiresAreDifferent: Bai Yifei (and his late mother) drinks the blood of young women [[spoiler:to retain his youth]], casts odd shadows, can hypnotize with his gaze, and has ice- and shadow-themed abilities.

Added DiffLines:

* SuckOutThePoison: Honglian for Wei Zhuang when he's poisoned rescuing her from the Baiyue group.
