In the present time, an 8-year-old girl named Tee Yang ("TZ" in the English dub) is helping her mother when she stumbles upon the mysterious talking Kung-Fu Master Sock. Being the dreamy girl she is, Tee Yang follows him excitedly until an encounter with a monster known as a "Kwei". But when Tee Yang is about to get eaten by the monster, the sock puts itself on Tee Yang's foot and...she becomes a Magical Kung-Fu Girl! After defeating the monster easily with her new powers, Tee Yang agrees to help the Kung-Fu sock master to find and return all the monsters to the Ancient Scroll.
