Jisu: The entry picture is a bit misleading, what with Shion-as-Mion... was that intentional, considering that at that point in the series, you think it is Mion?

Citizen: Well, it's a problem since one never goes insane. I might be able to find a picture from the first arc, but that's too much trouble, so I'll use two Shions. I mean, really, close enough. OLD --> NEW.

Gloating Swine: Might it not be a little redundant to include a Break The Cutie entry for Higurashi, given that the trope is so prevelant, and is probably better covered by accentuating the fact that the series took a wrong turn at Dysfunction Junction and has been accelerating ever since.

Clevomon: Could you clarify? Given that it is so prevalent, I thought it was a mistake not to include it.

Gloating Swine: Basically, everything you could include under Break The Cutie probably fits better under Dysfunction Junction. There isn't really a straight example of someone who starts the series normal and gets broken by events, they're all broken already, and the extent and cause gets revealed as backstory.

Clevomon: Okay, that's a good point, but I might point out Mion in Meakashi and Watanagashi.

Gloating Swine: Yeah, there is that one case, though it's pretty spoilertastic for those chapters.

Clevomon: We can just block out the name, the way you just did - sorry for forgetting to do it earlier, by the way.

Clevomon: Should The Rashomon really be listed here? The two versions actually have very few discrepancies (except one part that was misheard in one of the arcs). I really think it's covered in One Side of the Story.

Bayushi Kazemi: Nah, Meakashi and Watanagashi were two distinct worlds. They're just remarkably similar.

Wascally Wabbit: What is the significance of the red letters in the main text?

Neophos: The actual series writes that particular glyph in red. I'm guessing it's in the same vein as "House" being blue all over the place due to House Of Leaves.

Xelloss08: According to the creator, Ryukishi07, the red "Na" is an official part of the title.

Unknown Troper: I feel that time travel in Higurashi is more of a repeated Peggy Sue than Groundhog Day. Rika knows what's causing the "time loop", and if she wanted to, she could stop them and die. Peggy Sue seems to be a better fit. But then, I'm not sure. If someone thinks this too, this change is Up For Grabs.

Bayushi Kazemi: The Peggy Sue page says that Groundhog Day is for shorter periods of time. Rika never really went further back than a few months.

Xelloss08: Rika has gone back at least as far as five years, as evidenced in Time-Wasting Chapter. I think the series actually has elements of both tropes - the "set right what once went wrong" theme of Peggy Sue and the endless recurrence of Groundhog Day. Are the two necessarily mutually exclusive?

Pichu-kun: Does anyone else find the image on this page a little odd? I'm not saying it doesn't fit Higurashi,it fits it more then alot of other pictures but..Maybe we could change it? Maybe with something like this,or that official art where they're in the full moon? Oh,and why don't we put "When They Cry - Higurashi" under the alt. titles too, since that's the offical name.

Anonymous Mc Cartneyfan: Yes, the official name should be among the alt-titles.

DKN117: One thing I'd like clarified regarding Shion: Does the HORRIFIC torture the elders put her through in Meakashi-hen (the nail scene) happen in every Higurashi timeline, or just in the Meakashi/Watanagashi timeline? Also... would her nails eventually grow back, or would she be disfigured for life? Answer soon please!

Raxis: It would seem that it happened in each arc, but the fact that Mion willingly did it to herself as well soothed Shion. That's why she doesn't go bat-shit on arcs where Mion doesn't remind her of her longing for Satoshi because Keiichi didn't give her the doll. Also, nails can grow back, given enough time, and that happened a year before the series begins.

DKN 117: Two big things bugging me. First off, when Hanyuu & Rika hit the Reset Button for a world, do they just go back a certain amount of time ("jump" from June 30 to June 3, for example), or do their entire lives repeat, and Rika spontaneously regains all her past lives' memories at a certain point.

Second... why isn't there a Fanfic Recommendations page for Higurashi? How do I make one? I found a superb fic on FF.net ("100 Years" if anyone's curious) that needs to be shared.

Raxis: It's unclear how far back they go, but it does seem that they were able to go further back earlier on in their jumps, such as when Rika was able to warn Akasaka of his wife's fate (how she learned of it is a different matter entirely), around five years before the story begins. More recently Hanyuu was losing her power, drastically reducing the amount of time she can take Rika back (thus Rika became pissed when Hanyuu eventually could only take her back a couple of weeks at best.) As for the Fanfic Recommendations, try creating that page yourself.

DKN 117: ...Is there a "How To" page on this site? 'Cause I don't know how.

Dentaku: Doesn't anybody else here think that Miyo is an expy of Alicia from ARIA? They both have the same look on their face and seem to be spaced out most of the time. I half expect Miyo to go "ara ara" whenever she is on screen. I guess Alicia is what you get when you move Miyo to Neo-Venezia to row gondolas for a living. Or Alicia could simply be a psycho with a huge body count, but we simply never find out since on Aqua it's to easy to hide your victims.
Hareoic: If I might call attention to the character songs (from the C Ds), some of them (particularly "Egao Happy Peace") seem to demonstrate Mood Whiplash at some point in the song. Does anybody else agree with this?

Pichu-kun: The first few image songs were based off certain arcs, so yes.

Mapi-chan: I created the Fanfic Recommendations page just now over here. Also, shouldn't we have a separate page for Higurashi Daybreak? —- Pichu-kun: Can someone put "When They Cry - Higurashi" as an alt. title, since we don't seem to be using "When They Cry - Higurashi" for the articles title, which is the official name..?
Someone called Rika a mentally normal child? I think they haven't seen Kai...
