Because the differences are much greater than being set in the present day, which makes them both Recycled IN SPACE!!
Daibhid C: And The Lion King for the same reason.
Prfnoff: I think this trope should be narrowed to shows set in the present day or the years leading right up to it, so a lot of examples could be put back in Recycled IN SPACE!. Thoughts?
